Shriver files for Lazenby divorce
Former tennis legend Pam Shriver has filed for divorce from one-time James Bond actor George Lazenby.
Court papers filed in Los Angeles cite irreconcilable differences for the end of the couple's six-year marriage. The pair, who live in Brentwood, California, got married in 2002 and have three children together. 46-year-old Shriver is seeking custody of four-year old George Junior and twins Kate and Sam, aged two, with supervised visits for Lazenby.
In her tennis career, Shriver won 22 Grand Slam doubles titles, 20 with Martina Navratilova. Since retiring she has worked as a tennis commentator for, amongst others, the BBC and ABC.
Sixty-eight-year-old Lazenby is best known for playing James Bond in 1969's On Her Majesty's Secret Service. At one point, the Australian actor was the highest-paid male model in the world. Pro: affordable version of 007`s Rolex Submariner for sale. Con: it's made by...
The Rolex Submariner was introduced in 1954, designed for diving and any other water-based activity. But its fame is probably more down to its appearance in the James Bond movies - 11 films have featured the timepiece. Sadly, being a Rolex means it's out of the price range of most of us - until now.
The Toy Watch Company Fluo watch is based almost exactly on the Submariner, but with a healthy dose of 'fun' added - like a range of colour options for a start and construction from a high strength (but light) polycarbonate. Aside from that, this looks every bit the Rolex, but much more affordable at £125. The Rolex Submariner was introduced in 1954, designed for diving and any other water-based activity. The gadgets might be back. Paul Haggis, has returned to work on the script. He's credited with pretty much saving the franchise following the abominable final Pierce Brosnan entry, Die Another Day (since proved by expert analysts to be not so much a film as a kind of non-playable video game). Chinese drivers using James Bond cars to get away
Speeding drivers in south China are getting clear away thanks to machines which switch the numbers on their licence plates in seconds, state media said on Tuesday.
"More than 50 percent of cars caught on camera for speeding and other offences either cover up their plates or use a fake licence plate," a traffic policeman in the Guangdong city of Yangjiang was quoted by the Beijing Youth Daily as saying.
"Our chances of capturing them is next to nil."
The price of the remote-control device starts at around 800 yuan ($115), while a more advanced apparatus with the ability to flip over the numbers in less than three seconds costs more than double.
In April, Xinhua news agency reported that China had confiscated thousands of fake military vehicles and number plates in a move to crack down on citizens masquerading as privileged members of the People's Liberation Army.
In years past, Chinese counterfeiters have used fake military vehicles to ship bootleg cigarettes and other goods, previous reports have said. Speeding drivers in south China are getting clear away thanks to machines which switch the numbers on their licence plates in seconds,... more -
