Fattest man to get married
The world's fattest man, Manuel Uribe, has announced he will get married this month, after losing nearly half his original weight.
Uribe, 43, who holds the record for the world's fattest man in the 2007 Guinness Book of Records, is to marry a widow named Claudia, to whom he has been engaged for two years. "It will be a hefty wedding, on a large scale, but with a low-calorie banquet", he said.
The Mexican reached his record weight of 1,235 pounds - 88 stone - in 2007 after years of unhealthy living, including a diet of pizza and tacos. He has since dropped to 570lb (41 stone) from 1,300lb (93 stone) since February, by following the so-called "Zone Diet", a high-protein regime pioneered by Boston biochemist Dr Barry Sears.
Following the wedding announcement, Mr Uribe has been inundated with offers of sponsorship from international magazines, television stations. Local mayors who have offered to supply a cake for the 400 guests.
Mr Uribe thanked God for the "miracles he gave to a man who was on the edge of suicide and who today knows love." The world's fattest man, Manuel Uribe, has announced he will get married this month, after losing nearly half his original weight... more -

World's smallest man meets leggiest woman
The world's smallest man, He Pingping, and the woman with the longest legs, Svetlana Pankratova, met at the 2009 Guiness World Records book launch.
Standing at just 2ft 5in high, He Pingping, from China, has been officially named the smallest man in the world. Svetlana Pankratova, meanwhile, owns the longest legs in the world, which stretch to 132cm. Mr Pingping barely came up to Ms Pankratova's knees at a bizarre photoshoot held to mark the launch of the new Guinness Book of World Records.
But the pair seemed rather happy in each other's company as they posed for photos on Trafalgar Square's steps in central London.
In January 2007, Mr Pingping was invited to take part on a television programme in Tokyo, and has since become somewhat of an icon. It is rumoured he is now so protective of his image, he refuses to have his photo taken unless he is paid a substantial fee.
While Ms Pankratova might have the longest legs in the world, she is not the tallest. Last month, Sandy Allen, at 7ft 7in, recognized as the world's tallest woman, died aged 53. World's Oldest Man Dies at 138 in India
Habib Miyan played the clarinet in a maharajah's orchestra before retiring 70 years ago.
However, there is much dispute over his actual age. Although he said he was 138 years old, his pension book showed him to be a mere stripling at 129 - and the Guinness Book of Records has been unable to verify his age at all.
Miyan, who lived in Jaipur in western India, had no birth certificate but has collected a state pension for decades. He once worked in the court of the king of Jaipur - Raja Man Singh, where he played in the wind section of the orchestra.
