NHTA Tow Trucks set Guinness World Record
Many motorists on Ocean Boulevard Sunday thought twice before double parking, leaving the meter empty or blocking any fire lanes.
That's because there were more than 250 tow trucks on the road during the New Hampshire Towing Association's world record attempt for the largest tow truck parade. The NHTA was also in town this weekend for its annual trade show at Hampton Beach State Park.
Flatbeds; wheel-hook tow trucks; massive, 72-ton big-rig wreckers: Every type of tow truck imaginable rolled single file down the streets of Hampton. The parade could be heard long before it was seen, and children, along with a few parents, pumped their fists, encouraging drivers to sound off with airhorns and sirens.

NH landlord donates late Clinton rent check to Obama campaign
When Hillary Clinton left New Hampshire in January as the big winner, a doctor and building owner says she forgot to leave something on her way out of the state: a rent check. After finally getting paid the money he was owed, the doctor says he'll donate the proceeds to the campaign of her rival, Senator Barack Obama. The Young Voter Can Change Everything
In both the Iowa Caucus and the New Hampshire primary, students turned out in record numbers to cast their vote. This year California has moved its primary to February 5th (Super Tuesday) and for the first time since 1972, the state has some real political muscle in the nomination process. We interviewed students at UCLA to see where they stand on the issues and candidates; the youth vote will be a huge factor in the '08 election. Huffington Post To Edwards: DROP DEAD! (You Won't Believe This Article)
Lawrence O'Donnell calls John Edwards a "loser" and urges him to drop out and stop blocking the historic election of the nation's first black candidate. If this doesn't fire you up, I don't know what will. I myself once thought that Edwards should drop out but have since broken free from media mind control and returned to my senses. This article is an outrage. Just how far will the media go to stop Edwards? Why Do We Vote on Tuesday?
In 1845, before Florida, California, and Texas were states or slavery had been abolished, Congress needed to pick a time for Americans to vote. We were an agrarian society. Farmers traveled by horse and buggy, and needed a day to get to the county seat, a day to vote, and a day to get back, without interfering with the three days of worship. So that left Tuesday and Wednesday, but Wednesday was market day. So, Tuesday it was. In 1875 Congress extended the Tuesday date for national House elections and in 1914 for federal Senate elections.
Today, we are an urban society, and we all know how hard it is to get through a busy schedule, let alone stand on lines to vote. Census data over the last decade clearly indicates that the inconvenience of voting is the primary reason Americans are not participating in our elections.
If we can move Columbus Day, Presidents? Day, and Martin Luther King, Jr.?s Holiday for the convenience of shoppers, why not make Election Day more convenient for the sake of voters? In 1845, before Florida, California, and Texas were states or slavery had been abolished, Congress needed to pick a time for Americans... more -
Viggo Mortensen on Kucinich: "This Guy Is Amazing.... It Would Be A Dream If ...
When Viggo Mortensen heard that Dennis Kucinich was going to be excluded from the final and most important New Hampshire debate, he hopped on a plane and flew across the country to join the campaign. This isn't your average celebrity endorsement. Viggo speaks with genuine passion and intelligence about the legacy of the Nixon pardon, his concern for the future of America, and the importance of supporting an unflinchingly principled candidate like Kucinich, who he believes best represents the interests of humanity in the long-term.
"If he were going around talking like this to other world leaders, it would just make life easier for everyone on this planet." When Viggo Mortensen heard that Dennis Kucinich was going to be excluded from the final and most important New Hampshire debate, he ho... more -
Was Hillary's "Iron My Shirts!" Heckler A Stunt Designed To Energiz...
Well, to be fair her team has planted people in the auidence before. Is it really that hard to believe that they'd try it again? The fact of the matter is a significant number of Hillary voters cited that particular incident as the reason they switched their vote and supported Senator Clinton. What do you think? Was the odd "heckler" a stunt designed to get her undecided supporters to rally to her? Well, to be fair her team has planted people in the auidence before. Better First Female President: Hillary Clinton Or Elizabeth Kucinich?
Sure America is ready for a female President (or black or Hispanic), but is Hillary really the best option? The media is really trying to hype-up that the reason Hillary is hurting in some polls might be because of sexism (The "Iron My Shirts!" heckler seemed to lend some weight to that arguement. But I wonder. If Hillary's team had planted question-askers in the audience at some events, well, why not a heckler to fire up the female base just before a critical vote? But that's a different topic) Is her slumping polls sexism run amok? I don't believe so. I think it has less to do with her gender and more to do with her uninspired visions and over-friendly corporate agenda. Take for example Elizabeth Kucinich. EVERYONE loves her as much as they love her husband Dennis. Compare and contrast to how Elizabeth explains Dennis' healthcare plan with how Hillary has tried to explain her healthcare plan. Which one makes more sense and which one represents the majority opinion in America? And, hell, which one is more inspiring! If it had been Elizabeth running instead of Hillary what do you think the result would be? Would she be having the exact same troubles as Hillary? Who would make a better President if the race were only between Elizabeth and Hillary? Sure America is ready for a female President (or black or Hispanic), but is Hillary really the best option? The media is really trying... more

Candidate Challenge: Mitt Romney
MANCHESTER, NH - Increasing voter turnout is vital to a healthy American democracy... or in the words of Mitt Romney a "strong America." Yet America ranks in the bottom 20% of all nations in voter turnout despite spending billions of dollars more on elections than any other nation in the world.
Our voting system is broken and fiscally inefficient. So why doesn't Mitt Romney have an election reform plan and why won't he answer the Why Tuesday? Candidate Challenge?

Hillary: They Talk About Emotion Like It's A Bad Thing
by Nicole
Hillary Clinton has been lambasted for the crime of showing "emotion" in recent days, like it's a bad thing. Has anyone thought that perhaps if we had a president capable of emotion (beyond greed) we wouldn't be in the mess that we're in now. Someone capable of true emotion might weigh up the loss of life against protecting our oil interests in Iraq and come up with a different strategy. They may look at those who have inadequate health care or live in poverty, and be upset enough to actually do something about it.
It seems the media have become hysterical about Hillary's "emotional breakdown" but if you watch the video the woman barely teared up. Britney had an "emotional breakdown," Hillary by contrast, for better or worse, just cared enough about the state of our country to show a little emotion (something anyone in their right mind should be rather "emotional" about right now). The only commentator who seems to have it in perspective is The Daily Show's John Stewart, who on last night's show quipped, "That's it? That's the emotional breakdown that blows the election for her? I'm glad no one here ever sees me get a flu shot."
Personally, I'd like to see a few more leaders that are upset about what's going on right now, and care enough about it to cry. As for me, I'm sobbing for my country inside.
