There is going to be a protest at the funeral of Joe Biden's Mother-In-Law to...
"Tomorrow there is going to be a protest at a funeral."
In that simple offensive sentence, many of you will probably know who is to blame.
In case this is new to you, at the helm of this offensive intrusion into the grieving of families and friends of the deceased, is one man, Fred Phelps. His campaign of hatred is rooted in his belief in the bible, inciting verses as justification for his cruel actions. His target tomorrow is someone who was never involved in politics. This guilty-by-association approach that the Westboro Church engages in, has set its sights on the Mother-in-law of Vice Presidential candidate Joe Biden. This woman never spoke against Fred Phelps, his church, or Christianity. She just happened to have borne a daughter who married a very successful man. She is castigated by the church as being an evil witch who should burn in hell. "Tomorrow there is going to be a protest at a funeral." ... more -
7 Yr Old Boy Kills 13 Animals at Zoo | BBC NEWS

A seven-year-old boy has been filmed going on the rampage at a popular zoo in Australia, killing rare reptiles and feeding live ones to a crocodile.
Footage from the security cameras at Alice Springs Reptile Centre caught the child smiling as he killed a total of 13 animals. During his 30-minute spree, he was seen hurling the animals over the security fence into the crocodile enclosure.
Zoo officials described the boy's actions as "unbelievable". They are considering suing the parents as the boy is too young to be prosecuted.
'Difficult to replace'
The attack happened on Wednesday morning after the boy entered the zoo by jumping over the security fence and evading sensor alarms.
Over the next half hour, he bludgeoned some of the animals to death with stones and hurled others over the two fences surrounding the crocodile enclosure. At one point, he tried scaling the outer enclosure himself to get to "Terry", the 11ft (3.3m) saltwater crocodile.
A turtle, four Western blue-tongued lizards, two bearded dragons, two thorny devil lizards and the zoo's 20-year-old goanna were among those killed. Zoo director Rex Neindorf said many of the animals were rare or mature and would be difficult to replace.
"The fact a seven-year-old can wreak so much havoc in such a short time, it's unbelievable," he told Reuters news agency. Mr Neindorf said the boy had "clammed up" when questioned by police.
As children under the age of 10 cannot be held accountable for their actions in the Northern Territory, the zoo would be seeking to take action against the parents. "We'll be looking at suing the parents, who were supposedly in control of him at the time," he said. Man finds moth in his tomato tart
When council worker Ray Michael went to the canteen and tucked into his mozzarella and tomato tart, he was in for a rather unpleasant surprise: at the heart of the dish, he discovered an inch-long moth!
The 28-year-old, who is temping in the children and families department, said: "I couldn't believe it, my eye caught the end of the fork and I saw what looked like a flea or a moth which had clearly come from the meal. I was a fair bit through it when I saw it. I put it down straight away and complained to the canteen staff, who were horrified and very apologetic."
The food came pre-packed from Brake Brothers Food, based in Kent, and it is likely the insect entered the meal long before it arrived at council headquarters.
"I'm just relieved I didn't eat it, and it'll make me think twice before eating that kind of thing again. It may have just been a one-off, but it was pretty frightening," added the graduate photographer from Blackhall.
The insect is currently being held by the council as it waits to send it off in a special package to the suppliers.
It is not the first incident in the Capital of people finding foreign bodies in their food. Man bills town for cleaning public bathroom
A businessman said he was so frustrated and disgusted with the condition of a public bathroom in the Michigan tourist town of Saugatuck that he decided to cleaned it himself. Apparently, he must have been happy with the results as he proceeded to bill the city $156 for his work.
Steve Oswald stated that customers of his shop complained about the condition of the public bathroom. He proceeded to check it out and said he "wouldn't have sat down there." He called a city official and soon got to work, spending 45 minutes cleaning.
City Manager Kirk Harrier said the bathroom typically is cleaned twice daily, and he thinks it got dirty quickly because it was a busy tourist weekend.
Harrier said the city appreciates Oswald's effort, but city council hasn't decided whether to pay him. A businessman said he was so frustrated and disgusted with the condition of a public bathroom in the Michigan tourist town of Saugatuc... more -
Is this Britain's dirtiest flat?
When landlord Chris Dowling visited an apartment recently vacated by a tenant, he was in for an unpleasant surprise.
The entire living area of the flat was crammed full of discarded polystyrene burger cartons worth £5,000. When he did manage to clear a path through the rubbish, he found a large pile of cigarette stubs to be carefully stacked on the side of the sink in the bathroom.
Stunned by the state of his £100,000 studio flat, Mr Dowling called in professional cleaners and decorators to sort it out. They shifted the burger carton mountain and takeaway detritus into a large van, packing it to the rafters, before visiting a nearby tip for disposal.
The tenant, a single man, had accumulated the mess during over about two years. There were more than 1,000 takeaway cartons and containers in the 15ft by 11ft living area of the flat.
Mr Dowling, who runs 46 homes, said: "The tenant had been smoking without opening windows and there were nicotine stains dripping from the walls. It smelt like a giant ashtray. There were McDonalds and Kentucky Fried Chicken containers everywhere. I couldn't get through to get to the kitchen and they were stacked all around the bed. You couldn't see any part of the floor in the living area. In all my 15 years of running properties I have never come across anything like this before and we see all sorts." Mom gets life in prison for microwaving baby
A woman has been sentenced to life in prison without a chance of parole for killing her baby daughter in a microwave oven.
China Arnold was convicted for killing her baby by burning her in the microwave.
Twenty-eight-year-old China Arnold chose not to be in the courtroom for Monday's sentencing.
Arnold was convicted of aggravated murder in the 2005 death of month-old daughter Paris Talley.
She was spared the death penalty because jurors could not reach a consensus on the punishment.
It was Arnold's second trial; the first ended in a mistrial when new witnesses surfaced.
Defense attorney Jon Paul Rion has asked for a third trial, saying a former cellmate who said Arnold confessed has now changed her story.
Arnold was accused of killing month-old Paris Talley in 2005. A judge declared a mistrial in February, and the retrial began August 18. The jury found Arnold guilty Friday of aggravated murder.
During the trial, an 8-year-old boy said he saw another boy walk into the kitchen of a nearby apartment with the baby, heard the microwave go on and then later saw the burned baby in the microwave. Man shot by Greek police after 'decapitating girlfriend'
A 31-year-old Greek man accused of beheading his girlfriend with a cleaver is in critical condition after being shot by police, the country's health ministry said today.
Restaurant cook Thanassis Arvanitis allegedly severed the head of his 25-year-old girlfriend yesterday on the island of Santorini.
Arvanitis was shot three times by police while trying to flee. He had initially agreed to surrender to officers, but then attacked one with the cleaver and tried to escape in a patrol car.
Three bystanders were injured in the clash in Bourboulos, near the island's main town of Fira. A 21-year-old Greek tourist was hit by a ricocheting police bullet, while the suspect crashed into an oncoming motorbike, injuring two doctors, both aged 26.
Arvanitis and the three bystanders, all women, were being treated in a state hospital in Athens. The two doctors were making a good recovery after suffering leg injuries, said health minister Dimitris Avramopoulos. The tourist was in stable condition. The injured policeman received treatment for facial wounds on Santorini.
Arvantis killed his girlfriend following an argument. "The (suspect) slaughtered their dog and threw it out of their home and onto the street and proceeded to kill the woman ... totally severing her head," a statement from the South Aegean police department said.
"The attacker walked around the village carrying the head of the victim in one hand and the cleaver in the other."

Civilians under threat of worst Afghan violence yet
Violence in Afghanistan has reached its worst level since 2001 with more than 260 civilians killed in July alone, a group of 100 aid agencies said on Friday while calling on all sides to respect the lives of non-combatants.
The number of insurgent attacks in Afghanistan was greater in both May and June than in any month since U.S.-led and Afghan forces toppled the Taliban in 2001, said the Agency Coordinating Body for Afghan Relief (ACBAR), an umbrella group of non-governmental organisations in Afghanistan.
"We, the 100 national and international NGO members of ACBAR, express our grave concern about the deteriorating security situation in Afghanistan and the serious impact on civilians," ACBAR said in a statement.
The number of international troops in Afghanistan has gone up by more than 10,000 in the last year to some 71,000 and the Afghan troop levels have also risen by around the same number, but the Taliban insurgency has expanded both in scope and depth.
NATO commanders say violence is up by some 40 percent in eastern Afghanistan since spring this year, partly due to troops patrolling more areas, but also due to more militants able to cross from Pakistan due to ceasefires with the government there.
Some 2,500 people have been killed in the conflict this year, up to 1,000 of them civilians, and 260 of them in July alone, ACBAR said.
Some two-thirds of civilian deaths are due to insurgent attacks, it said, "especially the increasing use of suicide bombings and other indiscriminate attacks in civilian areas and the use of civilian property from which to launch attacks".
Taliban insurgents in the south and east of the country "are mounting an increasingly vigorous, systematic terror campaign of threats, abductions and executions aimed against members of the civilian population", ACBAR said.
But the increased number of air strikes by international forces, which it said were up by about 40 percent since last year, also contributed to the rising civilian death toll.
"Searches conducted by Afghan and international forces have on some occasions involved excessive use of force, extra-judicial killings, destruction of property and/or mistreatment of suspects," the statement said.
The escalating violence has led to closure of a large number of schools and health facilities, hindered aid and development projects and caused significant levels of internal displacement.
Aid agencies have been subject to attacks, threats and intimidation and 19 NGO staff have been killed this year.
ACBAR called on all parties in the conflict to take all possible steps to minimise civilian casualties and use proportionate levels of force. Tourist Beats Daughter Into Coma
A French tourist has beaten his four-year-old daughter's head against the stone base of a Rome monument so hard the child is now in a coma.
And when passers-by finally managed to snatch the child away, the man tried to bash his own head against the stone.
The pavement in the Piazza Venezia at the heart of the city is still stained with blood after the violent attack late last night.
Paediatric hospital Bambino Gesu said the child, named Luna, was already in a coma with severe head injuries when she was admitted shortly before midnight.
"Her condition is stable but very critical," spokesman Daniela Perrotta told reporters.
The father, who has been named as 37-year-old Julien Monnet, was behaving strangely moments before the attack, according to a Canadian tourist who grappled to try and stop him.
Traffic officer Anna Esposito told Italian broadcasters: "He was holding the child in an unhealthy way. The child was crying and screaming.
"He was holding the girl by her arm and then started striking her (head) against the stone," Ms Esposito said.
The Canadian grabbed the child while she struggled to hold the man and called for reinforcements.
"He was like a furious beast," she said.
Police have since said that Monnet's backpack contained medicine indicating he was receiving treatment for psychiatric problems.
Monnet is believed to live with the child's mother near Paris - she is thought to have been on holiday in Turkey at the time of the attack and had no idea they had travelled to Rome.
Police say Monnet appeared to be in a state of shock when arrested, before being taken to Rome's Coeli jail on suspicion of causing grave injury. A French tourist has beaten his four-year-old daughter's head against the stone base of a Rome monument so hard the child is now ... more -
Four children quizzed after more than 100 animals are slaughtered
FOUR children aged 12 to 13 have been quizzed by police after the sickening slaughter of more than 100 animals on a Teesside allotment. It has ben discovered the children used crobars and kicked families of animals to horrific deaths into fences.
As my personal opinion, I have to say who do these little sickos think they are? I mean what's wrong with youths now, like they'd really need to stab, beat & kick weak little animals without a voice to at least call for help makes the 'soz hard'. Where were thier parents? Would you really think it was alright if you had your young kids running away with crobars? Especially the little 12-year-old girl with all those slightly older boys. And they targeted the attack at least 2 months before it took place, surely that'd be enough to notice what was wrong.
I'm local there, and I don't know about you, but it's a good thing Cleveland Police got thier hands on these brats before I did. I'd LIKE to do the same to them alright, if not even worse. Woman dies in hospital waiting room, no one around her tries to help
Collapses, waits 45 minutes for response
KINGS COUNTY (WABC) -- A 49-year-old woman who was brought to the psychiatric ward at Kings County Hospital died after collapsing in the waiting area. She was found unresponsive on the floor 45 minutes later, despite being surrounded by other people who did nothing to help her.
The whole incident was caught on a hospital surveillance camera.
The New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation reported the incident surrounding the woman's death to a number of health oversight agencies and law enforcement authorities.
While the case is under further review, HHC President Alan Aviles directed the suspension or termination of six hospital employees, including staff involved with the direct care of the patient, as well as managers of security and clinical services.
The woman was brought to the Psychiatric Emergency Department at the hospital by EMS on the morning of June 18 suffering from agitation and psychosis. Officials say she refused medical review and was involuntarily admitted. She was in the Psychiatric ED waiting room, waiting for a bed in the inpatient unit to become available.
Early in the morning on June 19, she was found unresponsive on the floor. The video shows her falling out of the chair and onto the floor, thrashing about and kicking her legs. There were at least three other patients in the waiting area at the time, and several employees of the hospital are seen looking at her on the floor and walking away.
A preliminary review conducted by Kings County Hospital and HHC staff has determined the patient remained on the floor for 45 minutes before she received medical attention.
"We are all shocked and distressed by this situation," Aviles said. "What our investigation so far determined violates the basic principles of the compassionate healthcare practiced every day here at Kings County and across our public hospital system. We express our deep regrets to the patient's family and will ensure a thorough investigation to answer any questions that remain."
The New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation released the following statement:
"It is clear that some of our employees failed to act based on our compassionate standards of care. Immediately after the incident was discovered on June 20, and following a preliminary investigation by HHC staff, HHC President Alan D. Aviles directed the suspension and termination of those involved. The case and video surveillance tapes were immediately turned over to a number of health oversight agencies, medical misconduct boards and law enforcement.

Lawyer prepares insanity defense for incest captor
AMSTETTEN, Austria (CNN) -- The Austrian who reportedly admitted holding his daughter captive for 24 years and fathering seven children with her will plead insanity, his lawyer said...
"I believe that the trigger was a mental disorder, because I can't imagine that someone has sex with his own daughter without having a mental disorder," Mayer said in an interview broadcast late Sunday. Mayer said Fritzl would be confined to a psychiatric institution rather than a prison if he was certified as insane and convicted, AP reported.
Police said last week that Fritzl had confessed to imprisoning his daughter in a secret cellar dungeon in his home, fathering seven children with her and burning the body of one who died in infancy in a furnace.
Meanwhile, Fritzl's sister-in-law has said his wife did not know her daughter was held captive in their basement for decades because she had been trained not to ask questions under her husband's tyrannical rule of the household, .
"He was such a tyrant," said the woman identified only as Christine R. in a Saturday interview conducted and translated by AP. "He tolerated no dissent," Christine R. added...
In the televised interview, Christine R. added detail to the bizarre story of 73-year-old Fritzl who was recently arrested and confessed to holding his daughter captive in a dungeon under the home for decades, repeatedly raping her and fathering seven kids -- with six of them surviving.
Christine R. also said Fritzl committed an unrelated rape in 1967, served 18 months in prison for that crime and that her sister continued to stay married to him in a desperate attempt to keep their family together. Recent media reports also claimed Fritzl had been convicted of rape. Austrian police have said they are looking into the claims.
The story of the family's imprisonment began to unravel two weeks ago, when Fritzl's daughter, Kerstin Fritzl, fell seriously ill with convulsions and was hospitalized.
The 19-year-old girl, who had been locked in the basement her entire life along with her mother and two brothers, was in an artificially induced coma in an Amstetten clinic. She was suffering from a kidney ailment that worsened because she did not receive medial treatment sooner, authorities said.
Fritzl told his wife that their daughter Elisabeth, who is now 42, ran away from home at age 18.
The couple adopted three of the children who Josef said were left on their doorstep as infants by his runaway daughter.
In the interview Christine R. said her sister, Rosemarie, truly thought that her daughter had ran away to join a cult.
"She never believed him being capable of it," said Christine R. "We were all taken in by him and believed that she (referring to Elizabeth), was in a cult and that she wouldn't come out."
It may have been Fritzl's strict rule over the household that made it possible for him to keep his gruesome secret hidden for so long, Christine R. said.
The unspeakable ordeal has taken a toll on the whole family, Christine R. said, stating that she spoke to her sister on the phone recently.
"Five or six days after Kerstin went to the hospital I called my sister and asked her how the girl was doing," Christine R. said. "She said that she herself was doing badly, and the girl herself was doing badly and she wished with all of her heart that the girl would pull through."
Fritzl is being held in police custody. He has yet to be charged, but he can be held by police for 14 days without formal charges while the investigation is under way. That amount of time can be extended by a judge. AMSTETTEN, Austria (CNN) -- The Austrian who reportedly admitted holding his daughter captive for 24 years and fathering seven childre... more -
Human tongue in hospital canteen sparks tongue 'wagging'
A hospital canteen in Slovenia is under investigation after a piece of human tongue was served to a doctor in his chicken risotto.
The small town hospital in Izola, southern Slovenia, has been closed by health and hygiene officials who are now looking into how the rogue piece of 'meat' made it into the 'special of the day.'
The doctor who found the tongue in his food argued with canteen staff that the offending meat was definitely not chicken and looked more like the remains of a human tongue, after the 'specimen' was sent for tests, his predictions were spot on.
The source of the rogue bit of tongue is still unknown, but a hospital spokesperson has said "I can say clearly that we have never used patients' parts in any of our dishes."
