Top 50 Tunes, The 90's
Apparently, Lindsay Lohan, did not get our memo. 80's Prom Theme Parties are totally passe (she hosted an 80's theme bash for her 42nd - whoops I mean 22nd bday) Jumpsuits and gold lame leggings are no longer ironic once they hit the sales rack at Nordstroms. Throw out your plastic accessories and day glo makeup and breakout the plaid shirts, bondage wear, or start sagging your pants. 90's beats are back. Chinese character tattoos are optional.

Swiss Chris Plays EuroRock2008 World Peace Tour with Message of Peace (new Edit)
Swiss Chris, John Legends music director and drummer plays EuroRock in Florida this last month. His new song, War and Peace, played with only the drums and his electronics, triggering poetry and voice with his sticks, gives a positive message of peace.
Swiss has been a "conscious" artists most of his life and has recently created a 501c3 Corporation to help the world called Saving With Instruments Samples and Sounds (S.W.I.S.S.). The main mission is to teach and heal thru music. (more on his website)

Hip Hop Underground - Burma
I went to Yangon, the main city in Burma, and discovered a thriving hip hop scene. I talked to musicians, found hip hop in a small village outside of town, and went to a big open air hip hop concert. In a country where censorship is a normal part of life, musicians struggle to make the music they want to make, and two rappers have already been jailed this year. Nevertheless, they keep recording and performing. This is a look at hip hop in Burma, and a window onto the kinds of lives that young people there are living.
