Ku Klux Klan member elected as Republican precinct delegate in Midland
Randy Gray, a racist activist from Michigan and a member of the Knight's Party of the Ku Klux Klan, has been elected as a Republican Precinct Delegate in the city of Midland, Michigan. According election results from the August 5 primary election in Midland, Gray was one of three candidates elected in a race in which three positions had to be filled.
According to Randy Gray, all he had to do was put his name on the ballot; there was no need for campaigning. Indeed, according to a document distributed by the Michigan Republican Party about Precinct Delegates, the process is pretty simple. Candidates declare their candidacy with their County, City, or Township Clerk and following a review of their "Affidavit of Identity," their name appears on the ballot. Once they are elected, the parties are notified. The only qualifications are that the person is at least 18 years old and lives in the precinct.
The Michigan Republican Party defines the position as:
"A Precinct Delegate is an elected representative to the local political party from the precinct. Every precinct has at least one Republican Delegate, and some have more. The local party determines the number of delegates based on the number of Republican votes in that precinct in the previous election."
The same document says that precinct delegates have the primary responsibility of attending all County Conventions during their two-year term. Additionally, there are often other duties such as distributing yard signs, literature drops, get-out-the-vote phone calling, and absentee voter programs.[more] Randy Gray, a racist activist from Michigan and a member of the Knight's Party of the Ku Klux Klan, has been elected as a Republi... more -
Protesters Interrupt Obama Event
CORAL GABLES, FLA.) - Barack Obama’s rally at the University of Miami was briefly interrupted today after a dozen or so protestors began to wave homemade signs.
The group of mostly African American men held signs that read, “Blacks against Obama”, “Jesse Jackson hates Obama”, “Obama for abortions”, “Obama for gay marriage” and “Obama endorsed by the KKK.”
They are said to be part of a Miami based group called “Michael Warns”.
The crowd of over 5,000 people at the event shouted the hecklers down by chanting “Yes we can!”
Obama briefly paused and tried to calm the crowd down by telling the crowd to hold on. “Hey young people out there – it’s no problem for you to put your signs up, but let everybody – let me finish what I have to say, alright?,” he told the protesters as he stood on stage.
The group was escorted out shortly afterwards by security. “Alright guys, see ya,” Obama said as they left, “Alright, let’s get back to work.”

President Obama? Many white supremacists are celebrating
White supremacists hope Obama win spurs upheaval
Groups expect a racial backlash, think they'll benefit
PEARL, Miss. — They're not exactly rooting for Barack Obama, but prominent white supremacists anticipate a boost to their cause if he becomes the first black president. His election, they say, would trigger a backlash — white people rising up, a revolution of sorts — that they think is long overdue.

He'd be a "visual aid," former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke said in trying to bring others around to their view that white people have lost control of America. Obama's election, says another, would jar white people into action, writing letters, handing out pamphlets rather than sitting around complaining. 'Obama must die': Racist threats increase
American law enforcement agencies fear Barack Obama will be the target of a violent attack by white supremacist and other racist groups at the Democratic convention in Denver this month.
Railton Loy, Grand Wizard of the National Knights of the Ku Klux Klan International, said in an interview: "I'm not going to have to worry about him [Obama], because somebody else down south is going to take him out... If that man is elected president, he'll be shot sure as hell. The hate would be so deep down south."
In addition, websites and blogs are buzzing with racist threats: "Obama will die, KKK forever," says a post by "Rodney" on a blog run by a person identified only as Strider333. "The KKK or someone WILL assassinate Obama! If we get a N***** President all you N*****'s (sic] will think you've won and that the WHITE people will have to bow to you F*** THAT."
Mark Potok, an expert on the radical right at the Southern Poverty Law center in Montgomery, Alabama, said: "The scary thing out there is the lone wolf phenomenon. There are enough crazy people in this movement that it is possible one of them will decide today is the day to kick off the Aryan revolution."
The federal government is providing Denver - and St Paul, Minnesota, where the Republicans are holding their convention - with $50m (26m) each to cover the security costs of staging the conventions. The Denver Police Department will nearly double in size, bringing in an additional 1,500 police officers. Furthermore, National Guard specialists trained to deal with biological, chemical, nuclear and radiological weapons will be available.
The Obama campaign declined to comment on specific threats to the candidate. American law enforcement agencies fear Barack Obama will be the target of a violent attack by white supremacist and other racist group... more -

FBI used 'Mafia enforcer' to find bodies in Mississippi Burning case
A former Ku Klux Klan member convicted in the killings of three Mississippi civil rights workers in the 1960s must be freed because the FBI used a Mafia enforcer to torture a key witness for information, his lawyers say.
Edgar Ray Killen, 84, was convicted in 2005 of ordering the Klan killings of the trio 41 years earlier, a crime that was dramatised in the film Mississippi Burning.
His lawyers have appealed against his life sentence for triple manslaughter, citing new evidence that the FBI used Gregory Scarpa - known as The Grim Reaper - to put pressure on Klan members to reveal where the bodies had been hidden.
The lawyers also say that his conviction was tainted by the fact that a defence lawyer in a previous trial over the killings in 1967 was an FBI informant who had been providing prosecutors with information about the defence case. KKK Website? Legal organization?
Yes, apparently we can now DONATE to, CONTACT and JOIN the Ku Klux Klan, and there's 'The Klan show' on 'White Pride TV'. Remember to join, 'please use your visa or mastercard!' And, "DONATE TO US AS A THANK YOU!' (In those exact big scary letters)
I must admit they don't threaten to make this illegal, but...what the? My niece LETTERALLY typed on Google for History 'What are the KKK up to now?' and this appeared. (Even though they block little games, MySpace and even MLK biography blogs by the BBC...I don't know why on that one either!)
My favourate quote of thiers: 'The rumor that the KKK is backing Barack Obama for President was started by a magazine in the United Kingdom (UK) called the Daily Squib. The magazine is kind of like the National Enquirer. Except the National Enquirer at least claims their stories are true. The Daily Squib says on their news website, "The Daily Squib is a satirical publication and should therefore not be taken too fu**ing seriously" '
By the way, I've never heard of the Suib, I'd be very intersted if anyone has.
Look at 'Donate', they techiniqally say non of those poeple are white (not saying they all should, but you'll know what I mean)

List of Hate Groups Per State
The Southern Poverty Law Center counted 888 active hate groups in the United States in 2007. Only organizations and their chapters known to be active during 2007 are included.
All hate groups have beliefs or practices that attack or malign an entire class of people, typically for their immutable characteristics.
This list was compiled using hate group publications and websites, citizen and law enforcement reports, field sources and news reports.
Hate group activities can include criminal acts, marches, rallies, speeches, meetings, leafleting or publishing. Websites appearing to be merely the work of a single individual, rather than the publication of a group, are not included in this list. Listing here does not imply a group advocates or engages in violence or other criminal activity. The Southern Poverty Law Center counted 888 active hate groups in the United States in 2007. Meet the Ku Klux Klan's seamstress of hate couture.
Coming from five generations of Mississippi Ku Klux Klan members, 58-year-old "Ms. Ruth" sews hoods and robes for Klan members seven days a week, blessing each one when it's done. A red satin outfit for an Exalted Cyclops, the head of a local chapter, costs about $140. She uses the earnings to help care for her 40-year-old quadriplegic daughter, "Lilbit," who was injured in a car accident 10 years ago.

72-year-old James Ford Seale will die in prison. Seale was convicted in June on federal charges of kidnapping and conspiracy in the deaths of Charles Moore and Henry Hezekiah Dee, two 19-year-olds who disappeared from Franklin County on May 2, 1964. The prosecution's star witness against Seale was Charles Marcus Edwards, a confessed Klansman, who received immunity from prosecution for his admitted role in the abductions and his testimony.
