Foster 'killed his wife and daughter', police believe
Police have now confirmed that they believe Christopher Foster killed his wife Jill and teenage daughter Kirstie before setting his family's Shropshire mansion alight and committing suicide.
The investigating team is no longer looking for anyone else in connection with the August 25 killings, as the video in this post reveals.
Police also have CCTV footage from the mansion, Osbaston House, which shows a man believed to be Foster walking around the grounds of the property in the early hours of the morning armed with a firearm, which he uses. Daily aspirin in middle-age call
Men and women over a certain age should take aspirin daily to prevent heart attacks, experts say in Heart journal.
Nottingham and Sheffield universities' analysis of almost 12,000 patients found men from the age of 48 and women from 57 would benefit from the drug.
Heart attacks occur when a blood vessel is blocked by a clot, but aspirin makes it harder for blood clots to form.

Good Samaritan Finds Out Dying Accident Victim Is His Wife
An unthinkable tragedy has hit a British man, after he decided to stop and help an accident victim who had been run over by a car. James Peters was on his way to pick up his wife from a bus stop in Surrey, England Friday, because he didn't want her to walk home.
But when he came upon an accident scene where someone was hit and badly injured, he felt compelled to stop and offer what help he could. He'd been there for almost 10 minutes before another Good Samaritan asked him to hang on to the victim's handbag.
And that's when the world he knew ended in a shocking realization: Peters recognized the purse as the one belonging to his wife and came to the agonizing discovery that she was the accident victim lying critically wounded in the road.
Susan Peters had decided to walk from the stop where her spouse was going to pick her up, and was hit by a car as she made her way home. By sheer coincidence, her husband passed by the scene moments later and stopped to help.
But there was nothing anyone could do. His wife was airlifted to a local hospital but succumbed to her injuries.
Peters admits he's devastated by the loss of what he calls the perfect wife and notes she was only five minutes from home when the accident took place. She leaves behind three sons and a 90-year-old mother.
To add to this incredible tragedy, Peters and his lifemate had spent some of their final days together celebrating a personal milestone. Last Wednesday, they marked their 40th anniversary.

Persian Gulf Military Buildup Increases
An additional 3 strike groups have been added to the armada massing in the Persian gulf. This move comes less than a week after Operation Brimstone took place in the Atlantic ocean, involving war games for British, US and French forces, based around a possible confrontation with Iran over it's alleged nuclear weapons programme.
This highly visible show of strength worryingly comes amidst reports that Israeli lobbyists in Washington are pushing for George Bush Jr. to initiate war with Iran prior to his departure from office at the end of the year, as well as Seymour Hersch's report on Dick Cheney's plans to stage a false flag attack, involving US Marines dressed as Iranians attacking US/coallition interests, and giving the US the green light to unleash hell...

Englishman wins Irish race case
An English pipe fitter has been awarded 20,000 euro (£15,630) in compensation after being racially abused in his Irish workplace.
The man, who was based in Dublin, complained that colleagues had taunted him because of where he came from.
They would say "send the Brit in" to clear the way if they had to enter potentially dangerous spaces at work.
Negative reports about England's performance in the 2006 World Cup were also read aloud in his presence.
He said some colleagues never spoke to him and others deliberately sang Irish songs of a political nature in his presence.
The man, who asked to remain anonymous, told an equality tribunal that shortly after joining the firm in April 2006 the abuse reached a point where he ate lunch in his car instead of the canteen.

British "Lord" puts life up for sale on eBay
You really can buy anything on ebay!
David Piper, 58, an entrepreneur, who is Lord of the manor of Warleigh, near Plymouth, Devon, estimated the single lot, was worth up to pounds £6 million. However, by Wednesday bids had reached £10,000.
Mr Piper received widespread publicity in 2002 when he placed a lonely hearts advertisement in the International Herald Tribune, seeking a soulmate with a sense of humour.
He said he received more than 2,000 replies from across the world, and was still in contact with some of the women he has met.
He said he was now selling his lifestyle on eBay because he had been diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer, and was moving to London for treatment.
Also included in the auction are six acres of freehold land at Great Warleigh Farm, Tamerton Foliot, near Plymouth.
Mr Piper said he was also selling his family trust's collection of 140 items of contemporary art.
The lot also includes a "waterside residence" on Plymouth Hoe, featuring nine en suite rooms, a 42-foot sitting room with views towards the Channel, and a 42-foot dining room.
Mr Piper, a divorced father of four, said this could be used as a waterfront hotel or a "gentleman's residence". He is also selling his two Bentleys.
He said: "I have a lot of assets but I am impoverished. I have no money and I owe a lot of money."

Solar-powered sports car really is dope
Lotus rolled out a solar-powered and environmentally friendly concept car which is made up ganja, called Eco Elise, during the British International Motor Show.
Sports cars aren't supposed to be green. They're supposed to snort petrol, belch fire and cause innocent passers by to develop nasty chest infections. So when Lotus rolled up to the British International Motor Show in an a solar-powered Eco Elise made out of plants, it raised more than a few eyebrows.
See those brown bits on the car? That's foliage, that is. And not just any foliage--it's pressed hemp. Yes, hemp--what you make cannabis from. We've no idea if this car's designers had ingested some kind of "hemp" when they came up with the concept of a car made of ganja, but on closer inspection it's actually not a bad idea.
Hemp is a renewable, lightweight material that absorbs CO2 through photosynthesis, which is good for the planet. The particular brand of hemp used is ethically farmed and grown locally to Lotus, so the amount of CO2 needed to transport the raw materials is kept to a minimum. It's good news for the car itself, too. Hemp is very light compared to metal, which improves performance and promotes greener, more fuel-efficient driving. It doesn't compromise on safety, either--all the parts that are important for structural integrity are metal.
The solar panels in the roof are an interesting addition. They can't power the car itself, but they can drive the Eco Elise's electrical subsystems, including the iPod/MP3-compatible stereo. When it's in use, it can also take the strain off the car's alternator so it uses less petrol, and emits fewer harmful particles.
Aside from that, it's a normal Lotus Elise--which is a good thing. If you don't mind sitting in a cockpit surrounded by what could just as easily have been marijuana, and don't mind being constantly pulled over by police with sniffer dogs, we'd recommend it. Unfortunately, you won't be able to buy it anytime soon. It's a concept car, but Lotus promises that "certain features might find their way into future models".

British athletes get redeye to combat Beijing smog
Some of the British Women' hockey team have reportedly been forced to look like a female version of Cyclops and don red contact lenses to protect their eyes from Beijing's still ever-present smog.
The team had been suffering from the pollution at their training camp in Macau, near Hong Kong so some have opted to wearing the lenses, which "work by forcing the eye to filter out red light from the colour spectrum - thus presenting clearer vision."
The team captain Kate Walsh casually explained that "they're like sunglasses but as a contact lens so it just prevents glare," the head coach less so casually gave a much better response..."They make them look like the devil." Leaked British Government Letter - P2P Will be Cut by 80%
Tell us why this is interestingThe explosive revelation over British ISPs being forced to become the copyright police have certainly caught many peoples attention. Now a new revelation that could send a chill down the backs of digital rights activists has surfaced recently.
A few days ago, we revealed that ISPs caved to pressure from the copyright industry to become copyright cops. The copyright industry, namely the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), was quick to praise the move.
Now, a leaked letter dated just two days before the major revelation has surfaced and shows that the British government is just as adamant over the idea of ISPs being copyright police as the major copyright industry - if not, more so. The Guardian is reporting that the British government has secretly set a goal of reducing file-sharing by 80% over the course of the next three years. The letter was signed by Baroness Vadera, the business minister.
From the report:
"Although this letter has no effect on the agreement, which stands in its own terms, this may help to ensure all signatories have the same expectations," Vadera wrote.
"I would regard a reduction as 'significant' if it had reduced the number of people filesharing unlawfully in the UK by well over 50%, and we hope in the region of 70%-80% from a baseline to be agreed, with work to start immediately, rather than waiting for legislation."
Industry estimates put the number of illegal filesharers in the UK at between 6 and 7 million people.
"Success will significantly depend on the effectiveness of the letter writing, awareness raising and other measures," Vadera adds.
It's interesting to think that sending 8 million letters will get 6,400,000 filesharers off P2P - particularly when one factors in things like open WiFi and wardriving to name a few. Even still, is there really an action plan to separate those who downloads Britney Spears and the latest Jamendo release?
One also wonders if it's really a good idea for the government to endorse a policy that would upset at least 13.3% of the population of Britain who would receive copyright threat letters - an amount that means more than the difference between the current governing party and the Liberal Democrats which is the third largest party in the government according to the British Council.
It's never a good sign when the government sides with a particular interest group entirely - especially when they originate from outside of the country as clearly demonstrated here. The 800 threat letters sent by Virgin Media early this month wasn't exactly welcomed with open arms, so one can only imagine what would happen if the number of letters goes up by 1000%.
Currently, the Open Rights Group is open to feedback on the legislative approach in all of this so they can respond to the consultation about to be held on October 30th. Inside a Sweatshop in India
As the biggest retailer in the country, and a member of the Ethical Trading Initiative, Tesco should be leading the way in ensuring that workers making its products are paid a living wage, have the right to join a trade union and don’t work excessive hours or under poor conditions. Instead, research carried out by Suhasini for War on Want in Bangalore found that workers in factories supplying Tesco were paid half a living wage, finding it even more difficult to get by now with the increase in global food prices. She took time to answer some questions for us.
Q: What were the conditions and pay like in the factories that you investigated?
A: The working conditions of garment workers are precarious in Bangalore. They have to work for nine to ten hours with a break of half an hour for lunch, that's it! They are forced to complete targets of 100-120 pieces per hour, when under normal circumstances one can do just 60 pieces. Many get paid well under a living wage, yet they are expected to take care of a family of four or more! Overtime is not paid, workplace harassment and abuse are rampant and above all, workers cannot voice their opinion through unions.
Q: Do you think companies are doing enough to ensure that workers in their supply chains are paid properly and have good working conditions? What changes would you like to see made by the companies that buy these clothes?
A: Generally speaking, companies have just managed to improve the physical condition of the factory but nothing beyond that. Workers are paid the minimum wage, which is far below a living wage. Collective bargaining at the workplace is not allowed so there is no other way to increase the wages of workers from what they are getting now.
British companies should ensure that suppliers pay living wages to the workers so that they have a decent living. They should allow unionisation in the factory. This will help workers to voice their opinions and demands on various issues. Moreover, freedom to form a union is enshrined in Indian Labour Law; they should respect it.
Q: You met Sir Terry Leahy after the Tesco AGM. What was his reaction to the things you told him about the garment industry in Bangalore?
A: I told him about the deplorable condition of the garment workers in Bangalore producing for Tesco and said that with Tesco's increased profits this year he can actually give a living wage to the workers there. He replied saying, " We will look into it. A lot of research has to be done to determine the living wage. We [Tesco] want to work with the best employers in India." I wonder if it is his genuine desire to put in some effort in this direction, or if this is just one of those fake statements!
War on Want is campaigning to make sure that workers supplying big UK supermarkets get a fair deal. Time and again we’ve uncovered poverty pay, unacceptable working conditions and a lack of trade union rights in the factories that provide clothes for the UK high street. The companies that make massive profits off the back of the clothing industry have a responsibility to ensure that their suppliers treat workers fairly and that cheap clothing doesn’t come at the expense of workers’ rights. As the biggest retailer in the country, and a member of the Ethical Trading Initiative, Tesco should be leading the way in ensuring th... more -
Drunk Brits In Emergency Landing
A plane has been forced to make an emergency landing in Frankfurt after two drunk British women tried to open a cabin door at 30,000ft.
The women, aged 26 and 27, became violent towards cabin staff during the XL Airways charter flight from Kos in Greece to Manchester.
They had to be held in their seats until the plane landed and were then arrested by German police.
A spokesman for the Frankfurt force said the 26-year-old woman repeatedly tried to hit a flight attendant with a vodka bottle after she was refused alcohol.
"She evidently wanted to get some fresh air and tried to open the door, which obviously did not work," he added.
"Both the women drunk a lot of alcohol on the plane and it was a risk because they made some trouble.
"The captain thought it was better to make an unscheduled stop in Frankfurt and get them off the plane.
"They wanted to open a door in the plane but that was not possible and someone
from the security held them in their seats until the landing."
The women were questioned by police but were later released and allowed to return to the UK.
Police are deciding whether to press charges including grievous bodily harm and violating air traffic regulations.
The plane flew on to Manchester with a two-hour delay.
It was reported last month that an XL Airways flight from Glasgow to Dalaman, Turkey, had to turn back to Scotland after a fight between two drunken passengers.
