Brotherly Love - A Vision of Hope
Brotherly Love, A Vision of Hope, is a bold and innovative documentary project, designed to bring those in the shadows of modern society into the light of recognition, understanding and acceptance. The belief that a society is judged by the way it treats its poor and helpless is the cornerstone of this photographic/multimedia essay.
With support and logistical assistance from Philadelphia Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell, Photojournalist/Artist Ron Modro, photographed and recorded the stories of those living in the shadows, to show the hardship of life on the streets, by going into the shelter system to tell their stories from their perspective. The Sphinx: whether the weather be wet
A collection of unusual aerial photographs of the Sphinx on the Giza Plateau in Egypt, music by Patrick Leonard/Shenkar - "pudusu" from their CD "udistam". The Sphinx is classic in its structure and form. Its body is a beautifully proportioned carving out of one piece of limestone bedrock on the edge of the Giza Plateau, although curiously, the head of the sphinx is small. The Sphinx of Giza is about 240' long and 66' high. John Anthony West and Dr. Robert Schoch, a geologist/geophysicist, from Boston University, presented the idea that the weathering on the body of the Sphinx and walls of the Sphinx enclosure had been created by precipitation - over a long enough period of time to create the deep fissures and smooth rounded shapes you can see, particularly on the west and south walls of the Sphinx enclosure. Detective Frank Domingo, a senior forensic officer with the NYPD applied his expertise of identification techniques to compare the facial structure between the Sphinx, and the Pharoah Chephren from a statue in the Cairo Museum. The attribution of Chephren being the builder of the Sphinx is partly because of this discovery and dedication given by proxy, reports suggesting they look similar. Take a good look. Girl in Green
She is waiting in line for her monthly food ration...she is only ten years old.
With 40% of the population under poverty line, Iran is ranked 27th on the 'list of countries by percentage of population living in poverty' and more and more underprivileged individuals in Iran are turning to private nonprofit charity organizations for help.
Due to the number of people in need, most charity organizations can only afford to give each person less than ten dollars a month, along with some rice and vegetable oil.
What adds to the problem is the number of orphans who rely on these charity organizations as their only source of income and food. Sometimes these young boys and girls, such as the girl in this documentary, also have to find a way to feed their younger siblings. She is waiting in line for her monthly food ration...she is only ten years old. ... more -

Successful Peace Maker Jimmy Carter Shunned By Israel As He Attempts Peace There
Former US President Jimmy Carter, a Nobel Peace Prize winner who brokered the first Arab-Israeli peace accord, is being shunned by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni and Defence Minister Ehud Barak.
Why? Because the former President wants to talk with Hamas in Palestine as well. The Israeli government is afraid of Jimmy. Israel has alot they do not want to talk about because Israel has broken their own laws as well as International laws by continuing to rob the Palestinians of their land. Israeli government continues to murder innocent children and people. Israeli government continues to block much needed medical supplies as well as food going into Palestine.
If someone robs you of your land, aren't you going to fight for it?
That is the reason why there is so much hate and discontent in the Mid East. Israel continues to take advantage of the Palestinians who have no budget for self defense. Israelis unlimited defense budget is supplied by the US government (without the peoples permission).
Israel needs to change their arrogant and selfish, greedy ways. Maybe when they do give back the land to Palestine, they will do what the US government did for the Native Americans in return for the stolen land and murdering that happened to them. Casinos? Former US President Jimmy Carter, a Nobel Peace Prize winner who brokered the first Arab-Israeli peace accord, is being shunned by Pri... more -
Ekizibu - a short film about midwives in Uganda
Ekizibu means 'an issue' in Swahili Luganda.
I heard the midwives say, 'it's an issue,' a lot while I was shooting this film.
This short film exposes the issues midwives deal with everyday in Uganda, including communication and transportation, electricity, clean water and lack of supplies.
From mud huts to small health centers to busy district hospitals, these midwives work on the frontline in the fight of maternal health care. In Uganda the maternal mortality rate is 1 in 16, in America it is 1 in 4000. Ekizibu means 'an issue' in Swahili Luganda. ... more
