    • Cubans arriving in the US via Mexico

Cubans have traditionally tried to enter the United States via Florida, which is a mere 90 miles away. Recently the US has cracked down on illegal immigration around Florida, so smugglers are moving westward.

Cubans refugees are fleeing their island by way of Cancun. Mexican officials have seen an influx of Cubans entering their territory in recent months.

    • One of the New Seven Wonders: Chichen Itza

Chichen Itza is one the “ New Seven Wonders of the World” poll. Deservedly so. I was amazed by the size of the area and incredible architectural developments of the Mayan without the aide of a laser level, 18v cordless drills, sanders, carbide bits, or Home Depot.

What is more amazing is that twice a year, for only an hour, on equinox (when the day and night lengths are the same), and with clear skies, the pyramid creates a shadow on itself… Fortunately Paco and his 40 years of service at Chichen Itza can describe it better and I was glad to have my cameras – otherwise I might not believe it. Check out another ITKT video.

However upon arriving they find a struggling community with few resources, almost no support, and a lot of heart.
