My Bloody Valentine: First US performance in 16 years.
Seeing My Bloody Valentine at the All Tomorrow's Parties festival this past weekend, made the all exhaustion and discomfort of the event worthwhile. Taking many cuts off their consummate 1991 album Loveless, the band got everything right: the pitch-bent guitars, the dreamy vocal effects, those heartbreaking hooks, that brutally loud mix. As the band's first U.S. performance in 16 years, the thing had been hyped to hell, but Kevin Shields and company delivered the crowning performance of the festival with their signature "no big deal" composure......Hit the link above for full festival review (MBV also curated the event). Led Zep of alternative rock announce further shows
Further tickets for My Bloody Valentine's reunion shows next summer have been made available this morning after the original allocation for shows in London, Manchester and Glasgow sold out in six minutes earlier today. Two extra dates at the London Roundhouse in June next year have been added. No further news has been announced about further shows in Britain or America.
The band who have not played live since 1992 and not recorded since 1991's Loveless are cited by many as the most influential group of the last few decades along with Sonic Youth and The Pixies.
