Suspect in pregnant teen death had baby obsession
A woman accused of slicing open a pregnant woman's belly and taking her baby was obsessed with getting an infant and even had hallucinations of hearing babies cry after a February 1990 miscarriage, according to court records.
A few months later, Andrea Curry-Demus stabbed one woman in an apparent plot to steal her newborn; the next day, she kidnapped another baby from a hospital.
Curry-Demus, 38, of Wilkinsburg, was charged Sunday with homicide, kidnapping and related offenses in the death of Kia Johnson, 18.
Johnson's decomposing body, with her wrists and ankles bound by duct tape and layers of tape and plastic covering much of her head, was found Friday in Curry-Demus' apartment. A day earlier Curry-Demus had taken the baby to a hospital, claiming first that she was the mother and later that she paid for the child.
Authorities say the two women met at the Allegheny County jail on July 15 while visiting different inmates.
Efforts to determine if Curry-Demus has an attorney have been unsuccessful and no hearing has been set on the current charges.
Court records for Curry-Demus' 1990 criminal cases paint a picture of a woman apparently unable to deal with the loss of her own child in her seventh month of pregnancy. She was 21 at the time, and told authorities she also had miscarried at age 12. "England, the country that nurtured the genius of Isaac Newton, has now applied the brains of its physicists to a modern conundrum: What is the height of the heels that Sex in the City's Carrie Bradshaw could wear without falling over or cramping up in pain?
The answer, as calculated by Professor Paul Stevenson of the University of Surrey, is as complicated as contemporary dating. If Bradshaw, the show's fashion mad lead character, is wearing shoes she really likes, cost a lot, and are the latest thing, she can sashay about easily in a pair of her beloved Manolo Blahnik stilettos that top out at over five inches or almost 13 centimeters tall. If she has spent the night toasting the end of the television series, then she had better think about not wearing shoes with heels higher than about an inch because the alcohol will upset her equilibrium.
What the quantification does not address is how much pressure a woman stumbling about in high heels would exert if she stepped on you. For that the British physics institute directs people to its web site where it records that a 100 pound woman in stilettos will exert pressure under her foot that is 20 times that of a 6,000 pound elephant.

How far would you go for shoes and really how many pairs do you really needed?
Is it fascination, affluenza, obsession, I mean 140 pairs of Chuck Taylors, 300 pairs of high heels??... WOW!! (insert "OMG shoes"-video song)

The wolf watchers are under the same cultural influences that occur throughout society and result in their scopophilic fascination with wolves, but this voyeurism also facilitates a contribution to a unique scientific study of this historically mythologized and only recently reintroduced animal.

Lifting the Veil on the Agenda Behind not Wanting Al Gore to Run for President
Has anyone noticed that there is another movement in this country that is trying to keep Mr. Al Gore out of politics at any cost? This concept is mentioned time and again in articles lately that say that many in government fear Al Gores return to politics because they know that if in fact he does except the peoples challenge to run for president, then he would be unstoppable against any other candidate. Hillarys people shake when they hear talk of Gore running and the top Republican candidates dont even wish to speak of it. Is this a threat because he would reshape the government in ways that would change our country in fundamental ways? I know that both big business and those who run the government at present dont want to see a man of such high moral standards run for this office because they know that the laws that have been so unscrupulously passed to give them unprecedented powers would quickly be revoked. What I dont understand are the individuals who write glowing statements of Al Gores integrity, but say that he would lose all this integrity just by trying to right the wrongs that men of money and power have committed. These men of power have beat down the world with their wars and starved humanity of the very basics in life, and now that Al has shown the world this ultimate betrayal they tremble at the thought of his acquisition of the most powerful position in the world today, that of President of the United States. We should remember the last Presidential Race and the oh-so-underhanded ways that people, pretending to be individuals, lied about the Democratic candidate then, trying to convince this country that Kerrys service was disingenuous. I think what is going on is very similar, but since the people of the world cannot be convinced that Gore is disingenuous they say hes doing much better things for this world as a citizen who speaks from the side lines to the governments and corporations. They essentially are twisting common sense, saying that if Gore is effective as an individual that he somehow will be less effective by taking on the role of President. When in fact, if Mr. Gore listened to the call of the people, he could do all the things he has wanted to do throughout his life. We all recognize that any great task will take more than one man to accomplish, but if one man doesnt start this movement, and the world follow him then we are doomed to extinction. Great change has always started with one man brave enough to stand up and say something is very wrong then it spreads through the consciousness of the rest of humanity. Al Gore is the one man who has opened up the consciousness of the many and now he should lead the way to greater accomplishments. He has trained many others to do the work that he does now. He now needs to lead the world to a better way of life and doing business. I have many ideas as to how to help accomplish this and hopefully my next article will be able to cover that. First I thought I should speak to those who were confused or concerned by these nay-sayers who have tried to cloud the issues by pretending to be a friend of Al Gore. When in reality,.0 these people are overcome by the shear numbers of us that want to see this government and our world changed that they have reverted to underhanded tactics. They stroke him with one sentence and then dismiss his morality with the next. If any of you out there understand and have also seen this then please comment on it here, and please let others know that there really is another movement out there that is trying hard to keep Al under wraps so that they can continue their rein of terror and degradation upon this world.
