Derrick Rose is going home, and a whole bunch of freshmen are following him to the NBA.
The Chicago Bulls selected Rose, who grew up on the city's South Side, with the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft Thursday night, choosing the Memphis guard over Kansas State forward Michael Beasley.

Little Davidson College from the Southern Conference earlier had posted a first-round win against seventh-seeded Gonzaga University, with Stephen Curry sinking 40 points in that game. On Sunday night, in a true David vs. Goliath match, Curry scored 30 points, including a rousing 25 points in the second half, as No. 10-seeded Davidson College rallied to stun No. 2-seeded powerhouse Georgetown University, 74-70.

N.J.I.T. basketball sets record with 0-29 season
The jump to Division I basketball is not an easy one...
It's last season in Division II wasn't quite a promising one either as they finished 8-19 in '05-'06...
But hey, they did win 5 games in their inaugural Division I season. (last season they even beat Manhattan)
The 70-28 opening game loss to Manhattan was a sign of things to come this year...
Recruiting will be tough... for that program...
Even for them to compete with Metro Atlantic Conference, A10, and Big East in that area... The jump to Division I basketball is not an easy one... ... more -
