The Specials to reunite!
"Ska legends The Specials who had hits with 'A Message To You, Rudy', 'Too Much Too Young', and 'Ghost Town Revisited' are getting together for a reunion tour later this year.
Radio Six announced the news on their podcast from here in an interview with Terry Lynval and Terry Hall who say, "We were rehearsing as the original band and it's been brilliant, we've been talking of doing something for five years."
The 2 tone ska band are intending to fully reform with Jerry Dammers, Terry Hall, Neville Staple, Sir Horace Gentleman, Roddy Radiation, Lynval Golding, and John Bradbury all returning to the fold since the split at the height of their success in 1981.
Terry Hall says he saw The Pixies reforming and wants to get plenty of practice in first. "We'll do it with dignity or not do it at all." He also confirmed they would be heading on the road in late September adding, "We're still trying to put dates together, but hopefully (we'll tour) September/October time. We need to spend the summer rehearsing... I think it's taken me 30 years to realise we could do it really well."
Last summer frontman Terry Hall and The Specials singer/guitarist Lynval Golding surprised festival goers when they shared a stage together for the first time in 22 years to play with Lily Allen at the Glastonbury Festival and then repeated the treat at Guilfest a few weeks later."
