The iconic magazine has run an article in this week's issue giving props to 25 bands that are "whipping up a storm on both sides of the Atlantic," which according to New Bands Editor signals "the re-birth of the US music scene!"

Samsung 1,152 Person Commercial!
If you haven't seen this already it's a video made in South Korea for Samsung featuring 1,152 people coordinating their moves to make images (like a monster LCD screen). They're not using cards, but clothes with different colors to make the changes. It's pretty mesmerizing, particularly if you've been doing drugs. In addition, at 1:05 in the video a cameraman almost gets trampled on the left side of the screen. Sweet. I particularly like the dancer they make at the 3:00 mark -- I think I saw her muff. ScarJo (Scarlett Johansson for those of you without the dl [down low]) is an amazing actress. Well at least I think so. But can she sing?! I bought this issue of Blender Magazine because I <3 Andy Samberg, who happened to be on the cover, and discovered that ScarJo is coming out with an album of Tom Waits covers next year. What has happened?!
Seriously, I'm a bit concerned with this. I think that if you are talented in one are, you should stick to that and not make a fool of yourself (signaling Lindsay Lohan---->"Speak"---->WTF mate?!) I am sick of these actresses and other who are deemed famous because of their parents and fortune trying to do it all. It works for some (SJP and her fragrances, Beyonce and her clothing, perfume, CELL PHONE now?!) but just doesn't quite fit others.
