Southern California drivers head to Mexico for cheaper gas
Well that's smart isn't, save $5 bucks, peak up your stress in Tijuana, then drive back to the US, idle for 2+ hours in the border crossing and support the monopoly PEMEX is. (Only place to get comsumer gasoline in Mexico)
On top of getting really shitty gas with manipulated gas pumps.
Get over it and ride a bike, San Diego has great weather and mostly flat, plus most people down there look like they could give up some pounds. Thank you in&out...

just great sense, SoCal-ittes.
SAN DIEGO - Some motorists in southern California are willing to drive south to find lower gas prices. A steady line of cars crossing from Tijuana to the United States.
One motorist said, "Some people just come here to Tijuana now to just fill up with gas and go back to San Diego." The price difference between the U.S. and Mexico is dramatic.
California drivers are paying nearly $4 a gallon for regular gas, in Tijuana it's $2.75.
One motorist said. "Because I always load full in California and it's like 35 dollars. And right here in T-J, it's like 30 dollars, so five dollars difference."
The difference is dramatic with Pemex gas stations everywhere selling regular gas more than a dollar lower than the U.S.
The diesel difference is even more.

Levitating train from L.A. to Las Vegas gets boost
Plans for a levitating train from Las Vegas to Disneyland can move forward under a transportation bill signed by President Bush on Friday that frees up $45 million for the futuristic project.
Derided by critics as pie in the sky, the train would use magnetic levitation technology to carry passengers from Disneyland to Las Vegas in well under two hours, traveling at speeds of up to 300 mph. It would be the first MagLev system in the U.S.
The money is the largest cash infusion in the project's nearly 20-year history. It will pay for environmental studies for the first leg of the project.
The money had been delayed by a drafting error in Congress' 2005 highway bill, which was corrected along with some other changes by the legislation signed Friday by Bush. The delay had allowed a competing and cheaper diesel-electric plan to emerge as an alternative, but with the money now freed up supporters hope to move forward with the MagLev plan.
The train is meant to ease traffic on increasingly clogged Interstate 15, the main route for the millions of Southern Californians who make the 250-plus-mile drive to Las Vegas each year. There is no train on the route — Amtrak's Desert Wind between Los Angeles and Las Vegas was canceled in 1997 because of low ridership.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., praised passage of the law, saying the MagLev project "will safely and efficiently move people between Southern California and Las Vegas." Chicanos Celebrate 40th Anniversary of 1968 Walkouts
"When Mexican-American teacher Sal Castro and organized college students declared "Blowout" at East Los Angele's Lincoln High School in March 1968, students from Lincoln and five other East L.A. high schools responded by hitting the streets in peaceful protest.
They were fighting for civil and human rights in the Los Angeles Unified School District, which treated Mexican-American children as barely an afterthought." S. Pasadena declares a week without cussing
Another reason why San Francisco is awesome.
Who started this war against 4-letter words?
Last spring 14-year-old McKay Hatch started a "No Cussing Club," at his middle school when he grew "tired of being barraged by four-letter words at school." There were 50 charter members at his middle school, and he has now carried the club to his first year in high school.
McKay says, "Cussing just makes a person seem really unintelligent,"..."If you get in the habit of talking like that it can backfire if you let it slip during something like a job interview."
The mayor was apparently down for the cause saying "Lack of civility can erode a community. It's one of the issues across America that affects even small towns."
Now there is no cussing for a week in S. Pasadena.
My thoughts are with yall during this tough time :)

Beef recalled by USDA; Cows set to die were 'mistreated'
The U.S. Department of Agriculture on Sunday recalled 143 million pounds of frozen beef from a Southern California slaughterhouse that is being investigated for mistreating cattle.
Officials said it was the largest beef recall in the United States, surpassing a 1999 ban of 35 million pounds of ready-to-eat meats.
The federal agency said the recall will affect beef products dating to February 1, 2006, that came from Chino-based Westland/Hallmark Meat Co., which supplies meat to the federal school lunch program and to some major fast-food chains.
