Woman, 82, breaks anti-social behaviour order - for the tenth time
An 82-year-old grandmother broke an Asbo 10 times in nine months by abusing her neighbours and putting a curse on a family.
Dorothy Evans has been in a long-running feud with neighbours in Abergavenny, Wales, but denies charges of breaching her Asbo by causing harassment, alarm or distress to her neighbours.
Prosecutor Phillip Morris told the court Mrs Evans had breached the Asbo imposed on her three years ago on 10 occasions between 1 September, 2007, and June 5, 2008.
Mr Morris said: "Mrs Evans was made the subject on an Asbo in May 2005 by magistrates after causing, alarm and distress to her neighbours. Since that order was made, she had continued to be abusive to her neighbours - the Casa family on one side and the Staffords on the other. She has called Mrs Casa a stupid cow and an idiot. She called her a slut and said she was out all hours of the night with different men.
Mr Morris told the jury: "She called Mrs Casa's son a lazy bastard and opened the passenger door of their car to call their daughter a bitch. She called Mrs Casa a bitch and said that tickets for an amateur dramatic show in the town had not sold because she was in it."
The court heard Mrs Evans also allegedly encouraged her daughter Barbara Thomas to drive her car at Mrs Casa. She is also accused of breaching her Asbo by repeatedly hitting Mrs Casa's car with her walking stick in the feud.
Mr Morris told the jury that neighbour Gemma Stafford went to investigate after hearing sounds like someone hitting a wall with a sledgehammer. He said: "Mrs Evans was there. She was using the f-word. She was aggressive and put a curse on a Gemma Stafford's father. "She failed to control her temper and caused her neighbours upset on each of these occasions."

Gatwick airport squatter jailed for three years for breaching ASBO
A homeless, unemployed chef who lived in Gatwick airport for more than three years has been jailed for 15 months for breaching an asbo banning him from the site.
Anthony Delaney, 43, ate and slept at the airport, which he liked because he could shower before job interviews, Lewes crown court heard.
He began living at the airport's south terminal in 2004 but was banned under airport authority bylaws a year later.
In 2006, he was convicted of stealing from airport shops and passengers, which led to an asbo barring him from Gatwick and its railway station, unless he was himself a passenger, until 2011. Cher fan has his stereo destroyed
A man who blasted Cher and U2 from his home has had his stereo equipment and music collection destroyed.
Karl Wiosna, of Graig, near Pontypridd was warned to turn down his music by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council after complaints were made.
As a result, his two tape and record decks, his radio and his tapes and CDs were seized by the council.
All of Wiosna's equipment has now been destroyed and he was also fined £265 by local magistrates after he admitted the charges against him.
A warrant to enter Wiosna's home to seize his musical equipment and collection was subsequently granted by Pontypridd Magistrates' Court and acted upon that same day, added the spokesman.
During the raid on his home, council officers, aided by police, seized Wiosna's speakers, two tape decks and record players, portable radio and more than 30 tape cassettes and book of CDs. A court in Mansfield was told that 100 complaints were made by neighbours after John Norman, 61, played the hit repeatedly, night after night.

Police should harass young thugs - Home secretary
According to the Guardian, the home secretary is to talk today about how she believes badly behaved youths should be openly filmed and hounded at home to 'make their home lives as uncomfortable as possible'.
She is to recommend police forces across the country follow Essex police's initiative in which regular offenders have been 'framed and shamed' - been filmed and repeatedly stopped in notoriously bad estates. The operation in Essex has reportedly being successful, but has raised human rights issues about such tactics.
Jacqui Smith is also set to announce that people being reprimanded with an ASBO isn't working, but will counteract these failings by stressing the use of parental orders has increased.
