Couple has sex for 101 days
"After Annie and Doug Brown set themselves the challenge to have sex for 101 consecutive days, Annie found herself worrying about day 33 the most. 'It was totally irrational but I was obsessed that it would all go wrong on that day,' says Annie. 'After it passed, our daily sex became a happy habit. Not in a dull way but something that was planned and part of our life.'
Before their mission, which 41-year-old Annie suggested to spice up their love life, the Browns managed sex when they had the time and energy. 'Our sex was never bad,' says Doug, who was 'pretty happy' when he realised Annie was serious. 'We have two young children and busy jobs, so we were lucky if we managed it once a week. We spent months having strategy meetings to ensure we could do it.'
Sex and relationship expert Tracey Cox says when sex is good, it accounts for a quarter of the relationship's happiness. 'When it's bad, it can destroy everything. When you become friends, not lovers, you put yourself at risk of an affair. But the more you have sex, the more you want it. It's like having a chocolate bar every day at 3pm, eventually you will crave it every day. An orgasm is no different.'"

Lots of sex but few orgasms for the Chinese
Really strange results just in from the Durex Sexual Wellbeing Global Survey this year: 78% of the Chinese have sex weekly, but only 24% were able to achieve an orgasm everytime they had sex. Any sexperts out there wanna tell us what insightful analysis one can make based on the above two statistics?
The Chinese might be top global performers when it comes to business, but during sex they appear to be struggling to reach their peak.
Couples from China and Hong Kong are the least likely to reach orgasm during sex, while the Italians and Spanish claim to have no problems climaxing, a global sex survey showed on Tuesday.
Less than a quarter -- 24 percent -- of those surveyed from China and Hong Kong were able to achieve an orgasm every time they had sex.
Italy, Spain and Mexico tied for top place, achieving orgasms 66 percent of the time, said the Durex Sexual Wellbeing survey, which polled 26,000 people in 26 countries.
The French, famous for their romantic overtures, came in at a middling 48 percent of the time -- the global average, the survey said.
Other Asian countries such as Japan and Singapore ranked poorly with those polled saying they only reached orgasm 27 percent and 36 percent of the time respectively.
Of those who manage to climax, the Japanese were the least satisfied with the intensity of the orgasm while Mexicans and Brazilians said they were the most satisfied.
Women climaxed less than men, with 32 percent saying they reached the peak every time they had sex, compared with 63 percent of men.
Factors that enhanced an orgasm included delaying climax, longer foreplay time and having a strong emotional relationship, the survey said.
The survey also found that while men preferred to orgasm with a partner, women achieved an orgasm more easily through masturbation.
"If you want to have an orgasm, it's important that you allow yourself to surrender to the good feelings you are experiencing," said Kevan Wylie, a sexual health expert, in a statement.

Neuroscience: orgasming women have 'no emotional feelings'
Well that's what the researchers of an article in Scientific American have come to believe.
Apparently, neuroscientists have discovered that during orgasm men 'experience heightened activity in the emotion-processing centers of the brain,' whereas women's brains are emotionally 'shut-down' during arousal and orgasm.
Speaking on the findings, Martin Portner of Scientific American wrote:
"...when a woman reached orgasm, something unexpected happened: much of her brain went silent. Some of the most muted neurons sat in the left lateral orbitofrontal cortex, which may govern self-control over basic desires such as sex."

Ultrasound Spots The G Spot (But Finds For Some It's MIA)

It's like one of those jokes. Do you want the good news or the bad news first? The good news is that after a search of epic proportions, a team of scientists led by Dr. Emmanuele A. Jannini of the University of L'Aquila in Italy may have finally come up with a way of reliably locating the sexual holy grail: the hard-to-find G-Spot. The bad news is that the majority of women may not actually have one.
Armed with ultrasound equipment, Jannini's sexual crusaders stormed into the zone, measuring the thickness of tissue in the urethrovaginal terrain where the G-Spot is thought to hide out. A small group of twenty females volunteered for the study, which was published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine. Nine (blessed) women said they experienced vaginal orgasms, while the remaining eleven said they didn't (better luck in the next life). The researchers found that women in the first group had thicker tissue in the study's hot spot.
Many experts (and even more non-experts) have doubted the existence of the G-Spot, but it now seems that the significant differences in sexual capability amongst women may be due to genetically based anatomical factors (rather than a partner's lousy map reading). Previous research by feminist sex educator Shere Hite found that 70% of women did not experience orgasm by vaginal stimulation alone. Jannini's research might explain why.
"For the first time it is possible to determine by a simple, rapid and inexpensive method if a woman has a G spot or not," says Jannini. "A simple test could tell you if it is time to give up the hunt for your G spot or if your partner just needs to try harder."
