Janet Jackson Hospitalized During Tour
Janet Jackson has been hospitalized due to an unspecified illness, according to TMZ. The singer, who is currently out on her Rock Witchu Tour, "got suddenly ill during the sound check" in Montreal and had to be rushed to the hospital, a rep for W&W Public Relations told the Web site.
Jackson is currently being monitored, but at press time no further information had been given about her illness or condition. E! Online reports that the singer hopes to reschedule the tour stop.
It's been a bumpy year for the singer. On Friday, she called off a show in Detroit due to "production constraints," according to TMZ. She plans to reschedule that stop as well. The tour, which also features LL Cool J, is slated to continue through October 22.
Last week, Jackson announced that she would be parting ways with Island Def Jam Records after just 14 months. The singer's publicist noted that the label agreed to dissolve the relationship upon Jackson's request.
"Now, more than 20 years after the release of her iconic album, Control, Janet will have autonomy over her career, without the restrictions of a label system," Jackson's publicist said in a statement.
In March, Jackson released Discipline, an album that reflected a return to her Control era in more ways than just the title. But since debuting at #1, the album has sold a disappointing 415,000 units, according to SoundScan. In interviews, Jackson hinted that she was unhappy with the way things were working out with the label.
This isn't the first illness that Jackson has battled this year. In April, while promoting Discipline, Jackson missed an appearance on "Saturday Night Live." When MTV News caught up with her boyfriend, producer Jermaine Dupri, at the time, he said, "She's 100 percent better now. She was really sick. She had bronchitis. She's in Japan right now. Janet creates lingerie with Aussie designer
Sydney, Aug 21: Singer Janet Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction" at the Superbowl made headlines four years ago when her bustier ripped. Now, she really wants people to see her underwear, and is launching her own lingerie line.
The Grammy-winning singer has joined forces with Sydney-based designer Bruno Schiavi to create Pleasure Principle, a lingerie line named after her 1987 global hit.
Schiavi, who founded the Jupi Corporation in 1996, has previously teamed up with Australian singer Delta Goodrem and actress Priscilla Presley to create underwear lines.
Jackson, 42, said the collection would be lacy and sexy.
"You will see a lot of satin and lace combined and rich colors such as burgundy and beige, silver and peach as well as your classic black and white," Jackson said in a statement.
"It makes you feel incredible and offers variety as diverse as the women who will wear it.
The brand's first collection will debut in U.S. department stores in November with 14 bra styles and sizes ranging from 32A to 44G. The line will also be launched in Australia, Japan and Europe.

Janet Jackson launches Pleasure Principle lingerie
Janet Jackson is set to launch her first clothing line in the form of lingerie. Her Pleasure Principle lingerie line is set to be in stores in early 2009 and was co-designed with Australian lingerie designer Bruno Schiavi. According to Sandra Rose, Janet specifically designed the lingerie line to be comfortable for all sizes of females especially for plus sized women.
“I hate when you’ve had on a bra all day long and you just can’t wait to take it off — every woman has experienced that,” Janet stated. “A lot of lingerie tends to leave those marks and be uncomfortable. This line is about detail, fit and comfort as well as beauty and making women feel sexy.”
Although Janet is known for her extravagant taste, Pleasure Principle will be affordable with a $40 price tag range. No word yet on where the line will be available when it hits stores the first quarter of 2009. Janet is also busy gearing up for her reality MTV show where she will be acting as a mentor in a contest to find the next music superstar. Last night on ESPYs, Justin Timberlake performed a song about Janet Jackson's legendary “wardrobe malfunction” during the 2004 Super Bowl.
Coincidentally, this morning the Third Circuit Court overturned the $550,000 fine that CBS had paid to the FCC for the incident, ruling that the network could not be held accountable for the actions of “independent contractors” (Timberlake and Janet Jackson).

Reality TV welcomes its oddest family yet; The Jackson's
Singing superstars the Jacksons are to star in an Osbournes'-style reality TV show - set in an English fishing village.
The family have booked a five-bed holiday home at Appledore, near Barnstaple, on the North Devon coast and have told friends they are looking to move to the area permanently.
Their deal, believed to be with Channel 4, will see Tito Jackson based at the house with other family members - including Michael, Janet, Jermaine and parents Joseph and Katherine - flying in for short breaks.
It has been brokered by martial arts school proprieter Matt Fiddes, from Barnstaple.
He has previously escorted Michael on a visit to Exeter City FC and last year accompanied Jermaine on a nationwide anti-bullying campaign. Mr Fiddes, 28, said: "They can't wait to get here. NAACP awards show some love to Washington, Perry
Denzel Washington's "The Great Debaters" and Tyler Perry's TBS series "House of Payne" took top honors at the NAACP Image Awards.
"The Great Debaters" was named top film, while acting prizes went to its stars Washington, Jurnee Smollett and teenager Denzel Whitaker. Washington also directed the film, based on the real-life victories of a black debating team in the 1930s.
"I'll be at that other show next week, but my heart is here," said Washington, who is a presenter at the Feb. 24 Academy Awards. "I'm just so happy to see these young people get recognized."
