Millions of users have profiles on the social networking sites. They can list their majors, hometown, favorite books, movies, music, quotes and other personal information. But a University of Texas researcher found this information does not always give an accurate impression of the user.

Austin: Jorge Macchi @Blanton Museum thru 3/16
A 2005 featured artist at the Venice Biennale, Macchi has garnered international attention for his delicate meditations on the poetics of everyday life using a variety of media and formats, from video installations to artist's books to cut out newspaper collages. His work is characterized by a somewhat melancholic air, with subjects ranging from acts of random violence to unrequited love, the impossibility of conclusion, and the interplay between presence and absence. This Violence is Greatly Affecting the Youth in Our Nation
Ever seen Bowling for Columbine?
Michael Moore addressed some serious points in his documentary, on how the availability of ammo in local stores like K-Mart and Wal-Mart are too accessible by the youth. If your buying ammo for hunting game animals, I do not see any purpose in being able to buy an ample amount of bullets made to fit a hand gun. Furthermore, I believe our nation relies on an "anxiety appeal advertising" in getting consumers to over consume and buy products. From the simplest uses of P&G with anti-bacterial soap, to security systems, and the unnecessary Y2K phase (people went out and stocked up on merchandise to prepare for the worst). Sorry to be blunt, but this issue of gun control, and the governments ability to instill oppressive feelings of anxiety is very frustrating to me. I am against gun control in the most extreme forms, because I feel no one needs to be armed with the ability to take a life away from someone.
Or maybe we should make ammo too expensive for people purchase, therefore deterring violence as a whole. Check out the Chris Rock link
It just seems to me that if we look back in American history, guns have resulted in some of the bloodiest massacres, like the Civil War resulting in the greatest loss of life. And even the Boston Massacre tallying up five fatalities due the colonist being unarmed in an altercation with the European guards.

Troubles in Texas
James Henry, a freshman running back for the UT Longhorns, was arrested today and charged with felony counts of obstruction and tampering with evidence as well as for allegedly beating up one of the victims of a July robbery committed by 2 of his teammates.
Henry's arrest brings the total number of University of Texas football players have been arrested since June to 6.
3 of the arrests (including today's) were in connection with the July robbery, 2 were for suspicion of driving while intoxicated earlier this summer (I wonder why they just say suspicion - did they not do a breathalyzer to confirm one way or the other?), and the 6th was on drug charges last week.
Good thing it wasn't the basketball team, or they'd be out of a bench! James Henry, a freshman running back for the UT Longhorns, was arrested today and charged with felony counts of obstruction and tamper... more
