Rally for the Jena Six Tomorrow
A large turnout is expected for a rally in support of Mychal Bell, the only one of the Jena Six to have been jailed and tried, on the day he was supposed to be sentenced.An appeals court overturned his conviction last Friday, ruling that the 17 year old should not have been tried as an adult. The rally will take place as planned, with many college students from neighboring states planning to drive in for the event.Mychal is still in jail, pending either an appeal of the appeals court's ruling, or a new trial, as a juvenile, that his lawyers argue need to take place in another parish.
