'Fake weed' sparks controversy at MTV Awards
Seth Rogen and James Franco held up a big bag of marijuana (or was it fake?) and then lit up a "big fatty joint" right on stage at the MTV Movie Awards. If it was really fake and part of a pre-written bit, why were the cameras pulled wide and return to the stage?
What do you think was really going on there? Seth Rogen and James Franco held up a big bag of marijuana (or was it fake?) and then lit up a "big fatty joint" right on st... more -
Taylor Swift, Kelly Pickler clean up at the CMT Awards
Taylor Swift won video of the year and female video for her smash "Our Song" while newcomer Kellie Pickler took home three awards during Monday's Country Music Television awards. "I wrote that song in the 9th grade for a talent show," said the 18-year-old Swift, who won the night's top honor over Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley and Sugarland.
"I never thought it would be on an album, never thought I'd record it, never thought it would be a single, never thought it would be No. 1 and certainly never thought it would win video and female video of the year."
Pickler, 21, won breakthrough video, tearjerker video and performance of the year for "I Wonder," a song about a daughter's feelings for her mother that she says connects deeply with fans. Like Carrie Underwood, Pickler is a former "American Idol" contestant.
"Thank you 'American Idol,' you are the rocket that launched my career," Pickler said from Scottsdale, Ariz. Taylor Swift won video of the year and female video for her smash "Our Song" while newcomer Kellie Pickler took home three a... more -

CMT taping in LA
It Takes One To Know One: We're talking giants here, and if you're going to honor one, like, say, Hank Williams Jr., you'd better line up other industry behemoths too. CMT gets that, so when they officially proclaim Bocephus a "Giant" at a taping in Los Angeles on Oct. 25, we can only hope the Gibson Amphitheatre can fit all this gigantic-ness in one room. Toby Keith and Aerosmith's Steve Tyler are now on board, joining the already gargantuan cast of characters that includes Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, Kid Rock, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Gretchen Wilson and Buddy Guy. Eventually, the taping will be edited to a mammoth two-hour special on CMT.
