Taylor-Wood plans to make Lennon biopic
Artist Sam Taylor-Wood intends to direct a film about the life of former Beatle John Lennon.
Film industry magazine Screen Daily said the biopic will be entitled 'Nowhere Boy' and will focus on Lennon's early years and his first steps to stardom.
The film will be shot on location in Lennon's hometown of Liverpool and will explore the influence Lennon's aunt and mother had on his life.
"The story spoke to me on so many levels - both personal and artistic," said Taylor-Wood. "The women in John's early life truly shaped who he became, and the strengths and weaknesses of their relationships are central to this film."
Matt Greenhalgh, who wrote the Joy Division movie Control, has agreed to write the screenplay. Artist Sam Taylor-Wood intends to direct a film about the life of former Beatle John Lennon. ... more -

The Beatles Lost Interview
It must be sad to be a lonely can of film, unopened and unloved. An unloved tin of film. Anyway, here is the story of the Lost Beatles Interview.

Lost Beatles Interview
"Sixties star Helen Shapiro presents the story of a lost TV interview with the Beatles that was recorded in April 1964 and recently found languishing in a rusty film can in a garage in South London. Experts say it's the earliest surviving interview where Lennon and McCartney talk about how they met and discuss the song writing process. With contributions from the original TV interviewer Paul Young - who had never seen the footage, which was part of a regional television programme broadcast only in Scotland - Beatles expert and writer Mark Lewisohn and Dick Fiddy of the BFI." I Beatles su Guitar Hero?

Coldplay's Viva La Vida is their most emotionally dynamic album
Coldplay's latest effort is nothing more than a cross between The Beatles, U2 and Radiohead. This is best encapsulated by 42, which starts off with a John Lennon-ish piano melody reminiscent of Imagine and a Bono-esque spiritual message, then segues into the unsettling, jittery guitar riffs of Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood. Coldplay, Beatles Lose Leader
At first glance, this is one of the weirder news stories, since The Beatles and Coldplay do not seem to have a common leader, and the photo on the page is actually Kate Perry, not a member of either group. The story is that Lee Trink, the head of Capitol Records is resigning, and that is how the story is handled at foxnews dot com. Erm...okay. PID again. New, improved, with video!
Didn't some of us think this was over ages ago? Where to start. Um, well, if you listen to Beatles Anthology 2 you hear the eit piece of Strawberry Fields Forever and you hear John distinctly saying "cranberry sauce." The newspaper article from "A Day In The Life" was not about Paul, it was about someone in the English government: nobody was really sure if he was from the House of Lords. Was there confirmation on this, erm Rita, or was it just retrocontinuity? Mean Mr. Mustard was unavailable for comment.
Someone needs to show evidence that there actually was this mythical lookalike contest with this actual Billy Shears. Really.
Exit question: did Paul 2 (or 3) take on the 'real' Paul's fingerprints and DNA? Didn't some of us think this was over ages ago? Where to start. Um, well, if you listen to Beatles Anthology 2 you hear the eit... more -
PID: Okay, now there are, uh, THREE Pauls.
Two Pauls is not good enough. Where I disagree (see the actual YouTube page as per the link): where it says that "Paul was an inspired bass player." Uncle Albert and Admiral Halsey were not available for comment.

Apple Attacks NYC Over GreeNYC Logo, Steve Jobzilla to Destroy Central Park Next
Apple has filed a formal opposition to NYC's GreeNYC campaign over its new logo, saying that the city's looped apple infringes its own trademark. While Steve's mob says the eco-logo will "seriously injure the reputation with which [Apple] has established for its goods and services." New York's response? "The city believes that Apple's claims have no merit and that no consumer is likely to be confused."
The NYC logo which, ironically enough, seems to be an apple drawn from an infinite loop, (ha!) has been appearing on bus shelters, hybrid taxis and shopping bags from Whole Foods. The Cupertino gang's claim for trademark infringement is, however, hard to prove with a logo, as its key issue is likelihood of confusion or dilution, according to an SF lawyer specializing in trademarks.
This dispute is the third time Apple has been involved in trademark infringement claims—remember its battle with the Beatles' Apple Corps, and Cisco Systems about who had the right to use the iPhone name? Apple has filed a formal opposition to NYC's GreeNYC campaign over its new logo, saying that the city's looped apple infring... more -
