Mexican drug cartels prefer U.S. weapons to fight drug war
Many Mexican drug cartels are utilizing the loose gun laws in many south eastern states to purchase assault weapons that are used in the Mexican drug war. Assault weapons are illegal to the general public in Mexico, so many Mexican drug moguls are smuggling weapons from the United States across the border into Mexico. Many of the Mexican authorities are ill-equipped to defend themselves against the powerful assault weapons and have consequently lost over 2000 police officers.

Car dealer offers free gun with vehicle purchase
This is a good promotion for the Second Amendment.
A Missouri car dealership is offering new vehicle buyers the choice of a free gun or $250, MSNBC reports.
"To help spur sales," says MSNBC's Dara Brown, the western Missouri dealer made the offer of a gift certificate for a free handgun, or money for gas.
"The town's police chief," Brown adds, "says the promotion is perfectly legal."

Obama turns the guns on Clinton
Democrat Barack Obama lashed out Sunday at rival Hillary Rodham Clinton, mocking her vocal support for gun rights and saying her record in the Senate and as first lady belied her stated commitment to working class voters and their concerns.
The Illinois senator has spent three days on the defensive after comments he made at a San Francisco fundraiser were disclosed that suggested working class people are bitter about their economic circumstances and "cling to guns and religion" as a result.
Laughing along with the union audience, Obama noted that Clinton seemed much more interested in guns since he made his comments than she had in the past.
"She is running around talking about how this is an insult to sportsmen, how she values the Second Amendment. She's talking like she's Annie Oakley," Obama said, invoking the famed female sharpshooter immortalized in the musical "Annie Get Your Gun." S.F. handgun ban "shot down"
"The state Supreme Court dealt a final blow Wednesday to San Francisco's voter-approved ban on handguns, rejecting the city's appeal of a lower-court ruling that sharply limited the ability of localities to regulate firearms.
The court's unanimous order was a victory for the National Rifle Association, which sued on behalf of gun owners, advocates and dealers a day after the measure passed with 58 percent of the vote in November 2005. The initiative has never taken effect.
The ordinance, Proposition H, would have forbidden San Francisco residents to possess handguns, exempting only law enforcement officers and others who needed guns for professional purposes. It would have also prohibited the manufacture, sale or distribution of any type of firearms or ammunition in San Francisco."

Dustin's Gun Blog
I love the above video - guns are for girls too, not just for boys. My wife loves to go shooting at the gun range almost as much as I do, and when my daughter is older I'm sure she'll enjoy joining us.
My blog is about news and editorials related to the shooting sports, the 2nd Amendment, and the right to keep & bear arms (RKBA).
The Second Amendment of the Bill of Rights:
A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall NOT BE INFRINGED.
Just as a side note, the Militia is NOT any of the existing branches US Military which actually make up what is considered to be a professional "Standing Army" - the US Militia is a defined group of citizens in the US - specifically defined in our constitution to be all able bodied citizens from the age of 19 through 40.
