Greg Maddux to be traded to the Dodgers.... AGAIN!!!
After losing another 1-0 game starting the mighty Greg Maddux against the mighty (and mighty old) Jamie Moyer, the Padres finally decided it would be a nice idea to send him to a team that might have a shot at the playoffs (and might score more than 0 runs) while staying in Southern California.
Once again, Maddux is traded from a losing team to the Dodgers for second time in 3 years. After losing another 1-0 game starting the mighty Greg Maddux against the mighty (and mighty old) Jamie Moyer, the Padres finally deci... more -

Dodgers and Padres to square off in China, to test out Beijing Olympic Baseball fa...
It waas announced that the Dodgers and Padres will play a 2 game exhibition series this March in China at Wukesong Field.
Note, China had long forsaken for being too western until just recently.
They were coerced into WBC participation where various athletes from other sports were given baseball equipment to get pounded by Taiwan, Korea, and Japan in the WBC first round in Tokyo in 2006.
How big of a breakthrough is this for the game?
The Dodgers have Taiwanese star players Hong Chi Kuo and Chin Lung Hu on their roster.
The A's and Red Sox are already playing their regular season openers at the Tokyo Dome this March.
Is China ready for baseball?
Or will they become the silliness that became of the Greek National Team in the 2004 Olympics (if you remember Peter Angelos's band of fun led by former Yankee Clay Bellenger) It waas announced that the Dodgers and Padres will play a 2 game exhibition series this March in China at Wukesong Field. ... more -
After years of waiting, Goose Gossage finally gets into the Hall (of Fame)
Look at that 'stache, you can't say you don't want him in the Hall...
Plus he's the only reason the Yankees were ever good during the Reggie Jackson years.
He pitched before the steroids era, so it's ok for you all to like the guy and applaud his long wait to break into the hall...
He must wear a Mariner's cap when he goes into the Hall though...
He was the guy who made Griffey, Randy Johnson, and A-Rod great, just for being their mustache touting teammate in 1994.
He joins his former Padre manager Dick Williams in the 2008 Hall of Fame class.
Can someone explain how the great Chuck Knoblauch only got one vote?
Knobby and Justice musta been screwed by that Mitchell Report outing... Look at that 'stache, you can't say you don't want him in the Hall... ... more -
Walter Alston and Dick Williams amongst 5 Veterans Committee inductees into the Ha...
No one was greater and more deserving executive in the history of baseball to get into the hall than Walter Alston...
Yes he moved the Dodgers away from beloved Ebbets Field and Brooklyn...
He is every reason why the Dodgers history is so revered today...
He owned the team from 1944-1979, an era where he ushed in Jackie Robinson, brought the first of a number of World Series titles to the franchise with their unforgetable 1955 championship...
Every Dodger fan whether in Brooklyn or L.A. owe an insurmountable ammount of gratitude to this man...
And it's about time he gets recognized for what he's done...
His sone took over the team in 1979 and ran the team well... ushering in Fernando-mania and Nomo-mania... before realizing the third generation of O'Malleys were inept turds and was forced to sell to Rupert Murdoch who later defacated onto the franchise and ruined almost everything the O'Malley's accomplished...
There is no way in hell Frank McCourt can fill these shoes no matter how many ex-Red Sox and ex- Yankees he brings to town...
And Dick Williams was just an awesome manager throughout the 70's and 80's with the A's, Red Sox, and Padres- taking 3 World Series with 3 teams... No one was greater and more deserving executive in the history of baseball to get into the hall than Walter Alston... ... more -
Outfielder Bradley injured by own manager in scuffle
San Diego Padres outfielder Milton Bradley tries to go after an umpire during a game against Colorado, and is injured while being spun to the ground by his own manager, who was trying to prevent the notoriously hotheaded player from inciting further conflict. Bradley's since been diagnosed as having a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season great. Debate now ensues whether the umpire was possibly inciting Bradley before the incident unfolded.
