Man drives head long into bike race.
On the 2nd of June a man collided with the front of a bike race 15 minutes in to the 21 mile race going between Playa Bagdad and Matamoros, across from Brownsville in Texas. Police think he was drunk and asleep at the wheel and ploughed into the front of the race injuring at least thirteen and killing one. Although the injuries sustained from a car impact mangling the bike your riding is a little twisted to think about.
The 28 year old Juan Campos has been charged with killing Alejandro Alvarez on the highway near Matamoros, Campos also claims he is a US citizen living in Brownsville, although the consulate could not immediately confirm this. In Monterrey, Mexico A Car Plowed Into a Bike Race
MONTERREY, Mexico (AP) — A car has plowed into a bike race along a highway near the US-Mexico border, killing one and injuring 10 others.
Police investigator Jose Alfredo Rodriguez says the 28-year-old driver was apparently drunk and fell asleep when he crashed into the race.
A photograph taken by a city official shows bicyclists and equipment being hurled high in to the air by the collision.
Rodriguez says Juan Campos was charged with killing Alejandro Alvarez, 37, of Monterrey.
Authorities say the wreck happened 15 minutes into the race along a highway between Playa Bagdad and Matamoros.
Campos says he is an American citizen living in Brownsville, Texas. U.S. consulate spokesman Todd Huizinga said officials were looking into whether Americans were involved. 13 year old corrects NASA's death by asteroid figures
Nico Marquardt used telescopic findings from the Institute of Astrophysics in Potsdam to calculate that there was a 1 in 450 chance that the Apophis asteroid will collide with Earth, which is a bit scarier that the 1 in 45,000 NASA predicted.
If the asteroid hits in 2036, it will create a ball of iron and iridium 320 metres (1049 feet) wide and weighing 200 billion tonnes, which will crash into the Atlantic Ocean.
