Just Hold It While God Blesses America!
In a society which has grown so nationalistic in recent years, I am seldom shocked at hearing about examples which illustrate this, but restricting someone from using the bathroom when during a rendition of God Bless America at a baseball game is even more ridiculous than usual! Iconic New York Yankees legend Bobby Murcer dies at 62
"Bobby Murcer was a born Yankee, a great guy, very well-liked and a true friend of mine. I extend my deepest sympathies to his wife Kay, their children and grandchildren. I will really miss the guy."
- George Steinbrenner
The only Yankee to play alongside both Mickey Mantle and Don Mattingly, a 5 time All Star, and the iconic Yankee of the '70s.
Baseball has lost a true legend...
He had been battling brain cancer for a quite a while... and was in high spirits following his surgery this past winter... "Bobby Murcer was a born Yankee, a great guy, very well-liked and a true friend of mine. I extend my deepest sympathies to his wi... more -
Yankees Cursed this Season?
A devilish Boston fan working on a concrete crew at the new $1.3 billion Yankee Stadium covertly buried a Red Sox T-shirt under what will become the visiting team's locker room to jinx the Yanks.
The culprit is a mason - born and raised in the Country Club section of southeast Bronx.
"As I stuck it in, I said, 'The Yankees are done for the next 30 years.' I only put a 30-year curse because I'm 46 and in 30 years I'll be dead, and I won't care if the Yankees win then," said "Gino," who spoke from a construction job in Manhattan. A Rod is going to the Dodgers!
Apparently Alex Rodriguez is following Joe Torre to the Dodgers. In his move, Alex is said to be taking a small paycut from his average $33 million a year and Yankees fans won't have so much to gloat about. so basically it's a win-win! This couldn't be true, could it? Apparently Alex Rodriguez is following Joe Torre to the Dodgers. In his move, Alex is said to be taking a small paycut from his averag... more

A-Rod's Agent Votes for Free Agency
What a shocker - Scott Boras wants A-Rod to opt-out of his current deal that pays him $25M a season in order to get a longer deal that could net him possibly $30M per. Insane.
Since Boras feels that Rodriguez's looming free agency is more valuable than any other player's, he will undoubtedly recommend that Rodriguez, 32, forgo the potential $91 million left on his deal. Boras would not estimate what Rodriguez could make on the open market, but it is believed that Boras could seek a 10-year contract for $300 million for his client.
Where's he going? My guess is Angels, Dodgers or Cubbies. I can see him wearing the Angels red and forming a nasty 1-2 with Vladdy for a long time. What a shocker - Scott Boras wants A-Rod to opt-out of his current deal that pays him $25M a season in order to get a longer deal that... more -
Anderson's RBI Irony
Garret Anderson of the Los Angeles Angels became only the twelfth player in baseball history to hit ten or more RBI's. The last player to reach double digits was Alex Rodriguez who did it in 2005 against the Angels. Ironically, both Anderson and Rodriguez hit a pair of home runs in this Tuesdays game including Anderson's grand slam in the sixth.
