Sakura - Japanese Cherry Blossom Montage
Sakura - Japanese Cherry Blossoms have been a part of Japanese culture for over a thousand years. They're the subject of countless poems from waka to haiku.
This is a photo video montage of shots I've taken over the years in different locations of sakura in Japan. You'll see scenes from Tokyo, Kyoto, Kamakura, Himeji and few places you may not be aware of such as Ofuna and it's giant Kannon statue. I put in a few Japanese poems to go along with the photos.
The geisha are from the Miyako Odori which is an annual geisha pulbic dance performance in Gion. Sakura - Japanese Cherry Blossoms have been a part of Japanese culture for over a thousand years. They're the subject of countles... more -
Conan's Great Guest Moments
I know this is a couple years old (it's from his 10 year anniversary) but I couldn't resist. It's too funny NOT to share. Plus, a little Conan never hurt anybody! I know this is a couple years old (it's from his 10 year anniversary) but I couldn't resist. It's too funny NOT to shar... more

Samurai Dave's 2007 In Review
Another year has come and gone and in soppy melodramatic fashion, it's time to look back on all we've done and didn't do. Instead of focusing on love or lack there of or personal growth, I've look back through the magic of film and video on all the places and things I saw in 2007.
The following is a photo montage video of the travels, festivals, and events I experienced in 2007. It's a little too long for Current (8 and half minutes!) so I'm just posting my Youtube Link.
I've got photos of sumo, ninja, geisha, samurai, medieval Italian towns, German castles, a slew of Japanese festivals, and one good ole dog.
For more info on the photos, check my blog at:

The song is called "Only Once" which I think appropiate for life and traveling. You've only got one life - go somewhere and do something. Another year has come and gone and in soppy melodramatic fashion, it's time to look back on all we've done and didn't d... more -
Kimono-Clad Japanese Girls celebrate their Coming of Age
Coming of Age Day or Seijin-no-Hi in Japan is a day when gaggles of giggling girls hit the street in their gorgeous kimono with the long-sleeves known as furisode.
At age 20, Japanese youth official become adults and can vote, drive, and "legally" smoke and drink at long last.
The following is a pictorial montage of Seijin-no-Hi from 2006-2008 taken at Meiji Shrine in Tokyo. The shrine holds an archery ritual which is pictured here known as Momote Shiki in honor of the new adults.
For more information about Seijin-no-Hi check my blog entries:

The Seriously Problematical
This is a preview for a movie about a group of guys making a movie for class and all the problems they run into. I know it's kinda confusing, but the name explains it all, "The Seriously Problematical."It's like 'Waiting for Guffman', but worse. It's shot in Atlanta Georgia, but during the fall, which is why we're all bundled up. I did a lot of the camera work, but in the end it really was a team effort for myself, Harper Harris, Michael Roach, and Matt. We became a unit by the end. We eventually ran out of time and ideas, which is why this film is the way it is, so please enjoy....but watch with an open mind, it's supposed to be funny.
Thanx, Wil P.

Tokyo Yamanote Halloween Train
This is a brief montage of an off-n-on again unofficial Halloween party on a Tokyo train line where foriegners and Japanese in costume board a certain train at a certain time and party on it as it loops through the city. The event has been going on for years and is gaining a new form of popularity amongst many Japanese - nearly half of the particpants were Japanese.
I plan to do a longer more indepth story for October and the Halloween season. This is a brief montage of an off-n-on again unofficial Halloween party on a Tokyo train line where foriegners and Japanese in costume... more -
