    • BBC accused of sexism on news flagship

      Reports by female journalists on the BBC's flagship news bulletin have fallen dramatically this year, prompting insiders to accuse the corporation of sexism. Senior women correspondents have voiced concerns of being overlooked by the recently revamped programme. Senior production staff have agreed that it is more difficult to for women to get onto the show.

      The Observer today draws a comparison between female-led reports last year and this year, at 32 (four of which were lead items), dropping to 19 (and only 2 lead items) respectively.

      One senior news executive offered the following baffling statement as explanation of the situation: 'Because of the intensive nature of TV news, there are fewer senior female correspondents'.

    • Cocaine Jesus statue seized at the border

      Federal agents in Laredo seized a 6lb pure cocaine statue of Jesus estimated at $30,000 street value.

      The statue was made of a cocaine paste that was molded into a figure of Jesus and then intricately painted. It was extremely detailed all the way down to the hair.

      If the statue had made it across the border the dealers would have dissolved the cocaine in water.

    • California is the 2nd state to legalized Abomination!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      As you all know California Supreme Court overturns gay marriage ban In a 4-3 decision, the justices rule that people have a fundamental 'right to marry' the person of their choice and that gender restrictions violate the state Constitution's equal protection guarantee.

      You know California may be a liberal state,but it's not that damn liberal, marriage is between a man and women it should stay that way. for those of who don't believe in God or read the bible should look up gay marriage and marriage in webster dictionary or any type of dictionary, thier is no definition of gay marriage, but thier is a definition marriage. I don't have a problem with homosexual, i have some friend who R gay, we express our opinions about this stuff and surprisingly were still friends.

      what else will the supreme courts legalized polygamy, insest, or zoophilia that's a greek word for beastiality. i mean c'mon we can't be accepting at all things. it won't be long for the decision of gay marriage is overturn again and this time it will stay that way.

      i got one thing to say i hear gay people say this almost everytime "i was born gay", Okay i would just like to say that's a load of crap b/c when U were a baby U didn't even know who U or what U were. adolescent don't feel sexual atrractive towards someone until they reach sertain maturity.

    • Current Vanguard: The Price of Vice

      From prostitution in China, which has an estimated 6-10 million sex workers, to the world's largest marijuana plantations in Morocco, Vanguard looks at how criminal activity has become industrialized and in many cases has reached an "almost legal" status. Like most conventional industries, it's the workers at the bottom of the ladder that take on the brunt of the labor, and get remunerated the least. Vanguard gives a face to these everyday people who make up the foundation of these illegal enterprises so big that they amount to major industries.

    • Six-month- old baby killed in Gaza

      Israeli aircraft have struck a series of targets throughout the Gaza Strip, killing at least 27 Palestinians, including four youths and the son of a Hamas leader, in the past 24 hours.

      More than 60 Palestinians have also been injured in the raids that intensified on Thursday following the death of an Israeli due to rocket fire a day earlier.

      Four Palestinian boys, aged between 10 and 15, were killed while playing football near the town of Jabalya when an Israeli missile struck on Thursday.

      Ahmed Dardouna, a family member, said the boys were all related, two were brothers and the others were their cousins.

      "They were playing soccer east of the town, not far from our houses," Dardouna, 42, said

    • Nightline, Like the Rest of TV News, Doesn't Like Covering the War in Iraq

      Since the departure of Ted Koppel and the reconfiguration of Nightline the show has taken a decidedly fluffier turn. Unlike the raw gritty reporting the old Nightline used to produce out of Iraq the show now focuses on these fine topics:

      * Twin Skateboarding Stars
      * Couchsurfing.com
      * Pole Dancing as Exercise
      * Rock & Roll Camp for Girls
      * Barbie vs. Bratz
      * Butlers In High Demand
      * Deeper Vocals Attract Women

      Obviously ratings are driving the news decisions at Nightline which was born as a nightly show during the Iran Hostage crisis in 1979.
