John Edwards Endorses Barack Obama for President
John Edwards, the former North Carolina Senator who bowed out of the presidential race last January, endorsed Senator Barack Obama at a rally that was held in Grand Rapids, Michigan on Wednesday night, May 14th. Officials announced the news shortly after Obama had landed in Grand Rapids late Wednesday afternoon.
Barack Obama’s campaign is anticipating that the endorsement will represent a major step toward the party’s coalescing around Senator Obama as the Democratic presidential nominee. The endorsement has ended many months of speculation about Mr. Edwards’ preference in the Democratic nominating contest, during most of which he generally stayed silent and remained close to home in Chapel Hill (NC).

Will.i.am has posted another star-studded video to show his support for Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama. This time the Black Eyed Pea has recruited Jessica Alba, Ryan Phillippe, George Lopez, Kerry Washington, Malcolm-Jamal Warner from The Cosby Show and more celebs to contribute uplifting spoken word passages to “We Are the Ones.”

Obama makes a clean sweep: solid wins in all Democratic contests
Last Night, Obama posted landslide wins in the Nebraska and Washington state caucuses, and in the Louisiana primary. He also won the Virgin Islands caucuses. Obama added many more delegates in his historic run for the presidential nomination.
While Senator Obama had been expected to win the contests on Saturday, the margin of victories were surprising, particularly in Nebraska and Washington, which offered the day’s biggest pool of delegates. In both states, he captured 68 percent of the vote in caucuses, compared with Clinton’s roughly 32 percent.
Obama celebrated his victories in a rousing speech to his supporters at the the Jefferson-Jackson Dinner in Richmond, Virginia. “We won in Louisiana, we won in Nebraska, we won in Washington state,” Mr. Obama proclaimed. “We won North, we won South, we won in between. And I believe that we can win in Virginia on Tuesday if you’re ready to stand for change.”

I was sent a link tonight (Feb. 2, 2008) from Esthero, who appeared in the original video and song. This project inspired me beyond words. I decided to figure out the guitar chords, print out the lyrics and record this version live, in one take on my laptop. I did this all within an hour or so of seeing the clip for the first time. This was a completely improvised musical performance; I did the best I could.
I am a singer-songwriter from New York; I hope you enjoy my version of this song and can take something away from the intention behind the project. I am going to post more about the song and the chords for anyone looking to learn and perform it.
