Child prostitutes on Craigslist
Children are selling themselves as prostitutes, some as young as 11.
"I wanted to feel loved. ... I wanted to feel important," said the teen, who wanted to be identified only as Monique.
"You could put stuff in your ad like 'wet and wild,' 'fun and sassy,' things like that to catch their attention, to make them want you," she said.
"It would be a bigger problem if we removed that category and had those ads spread throughout the site," said Jim Buckmaster, chief executive officer of Craigslist.

300 dead cats in man's freezer
A Sacramento man was arrested Saturday after authorities found more than 300 cats and kittens stacked inside freezers in the man's home.
Officers were called out to the house on the 7400 block of 19th St. around 8:30 a.m. Saturday after a call to 911 was disconnected, according to Sacramento Police Sgt. Jim Hose.
Hose said Michael Parnell, 46, initially refused to allow officers inside his home. Fearing for the safety of Parnell's 81-year-old mother inside, officers entered to discover a horrible stench, a large number of live cats and unsafe conditions in the house.
Upon further investigation, Hose said officers found three large freezers filled with hundreds of dead cats and kittens. Investigators were working to determine why the man was saving the carcasses and if there was any cruelty involved.
Parnell, who also goes by the name of Michael Vondueren, was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Jail on a felony charge of possessing an assault weapon as well as a misdemeanor count of obstructing an officer.
If investigators determine Parnell was involved in the deaths of the cats he could face additional criminal charges, Hose said.
Sacramento Adult Protective Services officials were also called out to the scene. It's unclear where the elderly woman was taken, but the house was sealed shut by order of a city building inspector.
"Every so often, if they wouldn't clean or something, there was a smell, an odor that just reeks on the street," neighbor Marquita Trotter said. "I was afraid to have a party here and have family come over."
Sacramento City Animal Care Services senior officer Pete Alarcon said about 20 live cats were taken from the home by animal control personnel. The surviving animals were being examined by a veterinarian.
"It's unusual that such a big number of animals be kept in the one residence," Alarcon said.

Staph-tastic!
On Monday, a Natomas Middle School Student tested positive for a super staph-infection that is drug-resistant. A cleaning crew disinfected the school and district buses, not once, but twice, before the students returned on Tuesday.
Staph infections have recently occurred in many schools accross the U.S., and are often associated with locker rooms as a breeding ground for the pesky bacterium.
...which leads me to the same thought I had in 7th grade: P.E. locker rooms are smelly, awkward, traumatizing and deadly.

Rotting, Toxic Warships Prompts Federal Suit
Suisun Bay's distinct scent may be more than just a "delta breeze." On Monday afternoon, environmental groups filed a suit against the Federal Government for not removing cargo and warships from the bay. Over 70 ships are believed to have leaked copper, lead, zinc, mercury, and asbestos into a body of water that is home to over 40 different kinds of species, some endangered. The clean-up costs are estimated at $80 to $100 million.
If you've ever been to or driven through this area, then you're well aware of the smell and ghostly industrial scenery. Generating jobs for the local economy, finding a dry home for the forgotten ships, taking the nasty out of the water, saving a few delicious salmon from increased mercury levels, and potentially ridding that area of that gag-inducing stank; does anyone see anything wrong with cleaning this up or have I over-dosed on the crazy? Suisun Bay's distinct scent may be more than just a "delta breeze." On Monday afternoon, environmental groups filed a suit against th... more -
I'm sorry, Ms. Jackson
While promoting "Why Did I Get Married," Tyler Perry and Janet Jackson appeared on the show "Good Day Sacramento," via satellite. In an ultra classy move, reporter Mark S. Allen began to ask Jackson about the Superbowl, in reference of course to the nipple-slip, "wardrobe malfunction," seen around the world. While Allen persisted, Perry attempted to shift the subject of conversation back to the promotion of the film. "Good Day Sacramento," is a show on a CBS station, and CBS was fined $550,000 by the FCC for the 2004 Superbowl incident. But clearly, CBS holds no grudges. Reducing Crime, One Fugue at a Time
The City Attorney's office of Sacramento is forcing the owners of "Prit Market and Liquor" to install better lighting, as well as speakers that would play classical music during business hours. By doing this, they hope to repel illegal activity in that area, which has been called a magnet for crime.
