Mercury Music Prize favourite, Burial, unmasks identity
He's been as been as elusive as Banksy, dipping out of interviews and not accepting any DJing gigs, but the bookies favourite for this year's Mercury Music Prize, has now stepped forward, explaining the man behind the music.
"For a while there's been some talk about who I am, but it's not a big deal I wanted to be unknown because I just want it to be all about the tunes," he wrote. "Over the last year the unknown thing become an issue so I'm not into it any more.
"I'm a low key person and i just want to make some tunes, nothing else. my name's Will Bevan, I'm from south London, I'm keeping my head down and just going to finish my next album, there's going to be a 12-inch maybe in the next few weeks too with four tunes."
He added: "Sorry for any rubbish tunes I made in the past, I'll make up for it." He's been as been as elusive as Banksy, dipping out of interviews and not accepting any DJing gigs, but the bookies favourite for... more -
Dubstep act Burial hailed as Mercury Music Prize frontrunner
Hailing from the Hyperdub label, Burial has had bookmakers slashing odds on him winning the coveted music award after he was given props by some of the scene's biggest names.
Bookies William Hill cut his odds of winning from 6/1 to 3/1 after the apparent nod was given from an 'informal panel of industry representatives.'
Machine Management managing director Iain Watt spoke out saying “I think Burial should win it as his music is unique and groundbreaking; all the things the Mercury Prize should represent,”
Definitely a true sentiment, and if he won it would place him in the same hall of fame as Roni Size/Reprazents' 'New Forms' back in 1997 and Dizzee Rascal' 'Boy In Da Corner' from 2003 . Fear not indie lovers! Radiohead's marked as the critics' number two, with the bookies giving them 9/2 on clinching it with 'In Rainbows'.

A Hot Song to Share With the States!
I don't know much about the artist except that T2 is a producer from Leeds. England's Timbaland?
This song, "Heartbroken" was released sometime in November of 2007 but as usual America is slow on catching up with our friends across the pond. I thought I'd help by introducing this hot dance song.
Even Rye Rye recommends it! I don't know much about the artist except that T2 is a producer from Leeds. England's Timbaland? ... more -

New album from Burial, the anonymous maestro of minimalist dubstep
Still anonymous, still making incredible music, Burial is back with a new full-length LP of dark, minimal dubstep called Untrue. As with the first record ("Burial") you'll be hard-pressed to find any tracks on this album suitable to the dance floor, which doesn't make Burial's brooding, introspective beats any less engaging or any less enjoyable to hear, but, rather, makes his music more suited to infect you through your headphones on a rainy late-night muni ride through the tenderloin. Be sure to check out the interview on Hyperdub's website. Still anonymous, still making incredible music, Burial is back with a new full-length LP of dark, minimal dubstep called Untrue. As w... more
