Don't Pie Me Bro!
Thomas Friedman, the author and NY Times columnist, was invited to Brown University to give a keynote speech on Earth Day, before a packed auditorium. His talk, titled "Green is the new Red, White and Blue" was about how corporate environmentalism can restore America to its "natural place in the global order."
His speech was interrupted with a surprise visit from the Greenwash Guerrillas that splattered him with two green cream pies.

Thomas Friedman Gets A Pie In The Face During Speech At Brown
I never even heard of Thomas Friedman before someone pied him.
Now I'm going to have to look into why the pie-ers claim:
"Thomas Friedman deserves a pie in the face because of his sickeningly cheery applaud for free market capitalism's conquest of the planet, for telling the world that the free market and techno fixes can save us from climate change. From carbon trading to biofuels, these distractions are dangerous in and of themselves, while encouraging inaction with respect to the true problems at hand." On Wednesday November 28, two of your favorite things will come together in one place!!
If you like liberal coffee and you like Current.com, you need to come to Blue State Coffee on
Thayer Street at 8 oclock Wednesday night. There will be free coffee for the first 50 people who join current IN THE STORE. We will have representatives there dishing out coffee, cookies, and other free goodies. We will be showing various pods about all the great things current has to offer.
All you have to do for a night of hot coffee and fun is sign up on Wednesday in the store. You'll be thankful you did.

Increasing School Spirit
I love Brown to death, but the one thing I would change about the place is increasing school spirit. I come from a big public school in Texas where the entire town would come out to our games. At Brown, even when the football team won the Ivy League Championship, many people on campus had no idea. This new group started by a friend of mine acts to encourage students to attend sports events and increase overall school pride and spirit.
