Two minutes of hate from the movie, July 24, 2008.
The third installment in the “Two Minutes of Hate” series. This is from the original movie released in 1984. A classic version that seems very in line with the description by Orwell in his book.

Irish minister compares homosexuality to child abuse and paedophilia
A controversial Unionist politician has said she stands by her comparison of the sexual abuse of children to homosexual relationships.
Iris Robinson is the MP for Strangford, a member of the Northern Ireland Assembly, chair of the Assembly's health committee and the new First Minister's wife.
She sparked outrage earlier this year when she offered to put gay men in touch with a psychiatrist who can make them straight.
Now it has emerged that during committee proceedings in the Commons last month, she told MPs:
"There can be no viler act, apart from homosexuality and sodomy, than sexually abusing innocent children.
"There must be sufficient confidence that the community has the best possible protection against such perverts."
When contacted by the Belfast Telegraph, Mrs Robinson reiterated her views and said she was following Scriptures.
"Can you think of anything more vile than man and man or woman and woman and sexually abusing children?" she told the Telegraph.
"What I say I base on biblical pronouncements, based on God’s word. I am amazed that people are surprised when I quote from scriptures. It shows the churches either aren’t preaching God’s word or are watering it down.
"I cannot think of anything more sickening than a child being abused. It is comparable to the act of homosexuality. I think they are all comparable. I feel totally repulsed by both."
Mrs Robinson told the Telegraph that she is "trying to reach out to people" as Christ instructed.
She then said that her comments were not made out of hate.
“We all have the opportunity to come to know the Lord Jesus Christ. Anything I say is out of love. I am not hate-mongering. I cannot leave my Christian values hanging at the door when I go into politics.
“I am speaking out more now because we are getting it more and more rammed down our throats that the minority views are more important than the majority views. I am not trying to alienate anyone. Anyone can come to me with any problems. I do not turn anyone away."
Speaking on BBC Radio Ulster's Nolan Show last month, Mrs Robinson was asked to comment on a homophobic assault that took place in Newtownabbey.
Stephen Scott, 27, was attacked by a gang of youths and suffered head and leg injuries. The police are calling the incident homophobic in nature.
Mrs Robinson suggested that he should consider therapy to "cure" him of his homosexuality.
She condemned the attack on Mr Scott but added:
"I have a very lovely psychiatrist who works with me in my offices and his Christian background is that he tries to help homosexuals trying to turn away from what they are engaged in.
"And I have met people who have turned around to become heterosexual."
She also agreed that homosexuality is "disgusting, loathsome, nauseating, wicked and vile."
Police in Northern Ireland are investigating whether Mrs Robinson has committed any offence, such as incitement to hatred, after a string of complaints about her radio interview.
Sinn Fein, who are in coalition government with the DUP, have condemned her.
It's easy to condemn barbaric and backward regimes in far away countries, but did you know these kinds of ideas were so prevalent right here at home (outside the BNP, that is)? Should ministers with such hateful views be able to preach them so openly, and do they really represent the majority, as they claim to? If anti-hate legislation wasn't created to protect people from this kind of abuse then what is it there for?

BBC NEWS | Middle East | Israelis hit by new digger attack
A Palestinian in a mechanical digger has rammed traffic in west Jerusalem, injuring at least 10 people before being shot dead, Israeli police say.
A bus and a number of cars were hit during the incident. Some cars were crushed and one was turned on its roof.
Witnesses say an armed civilian first shot at the driver, before he was killed by border police.
Three weeks ago a Palestinian man went on a deadly rampage in a heavy vehicle in Jerusalem, killing three Israelis.
A BBC correspondent says it is thought the 2 July attacker was simply a disturbed man without political motivation - but Israelis will worry Tuesday's incident was a copycat attack and that this could now be a new tactic.
Police identified the perpetrator as 22-year-old East Jerusalem resident Ghassan Abu Tir. It is not known if he was connected to any militant group.
Gunshots
The latest attack took place in a busy part of central West Jerusalem, close to the King David Hotel where US presidential candidate Barack Obama will be arriving within hours.
I saw the tractor going into a bus four or five times. All the windows of the bus exploded
Yohanan Levine
As the incident was unfolding, Israeli President Shimon Peres was for the first time receiving Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas at his official residence in Jerusalem, which is also nearby.
"I was going home when I saw the tractor going into a bus four or five times. All the windows of the bus exploded," said a 16-year-old Israeli at the scene.
"Then I saw the tractor going down the street pushing cars. I saw more people running and after two minutes I heard two or three gunshots," Yohanan Levine added.
A driver interviewed by Israeli TV said his car was rammed twice by the front shovel of the digger and he only just managed to swerve to avoid a third charge aimed at his head.
Photographs of the immediate aftermath show the driver's body slumped in the cab and at least eight bullet holes in the glass next to him.
Official visit
Israeli police called it a "terror attack", although there was no immediate claim of responsibility by any Palestinian militant organisation.
Police said the driver was from a Palestinian village in the occupied West Bank which Israel has designated part of the enlarged Jerusalem municipality.
Mr Abbas told reporters he "condemned and rejected" the attack and said such incidents "hurt our reputation and peace in general".
It was the first time a Palestinian Authority president had visited the Israeli presidential residence, known as Beit Hanasi.
Mr Abbas was welcomed in a formal ceremony with Palestinian flags flying at the reception point. Such trappings are normally absent when Mr Abbas meets Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert at his official residence.
In his remarks, Mr Peres said: "Israelis have a burning desire to reach peace with the Palestinians."
Mr Abbas has been meeting Israeli leaders regularly since attempts were made to give the peace process fresh impetus at an international conference in the United States last November. Politics of Fear and Hatred
Posted by Senator Kevin Bryant on his blog at www.kevinbryant.com
His response for putting up this hate-fueled picture is even more appalling than the picture itself:
“It was meant tongue in cheek. I’ve got some questions about Senator Obama’s ties to — such as his comment that we should negotiate with Iran. Iran’s a country that would like to destroy Israel, that bothers me. But is this picture appropriate? I don’t know.”
“You know, blogs are for satire and whatnot and, um, that’s why it’s up. It’s similar to the New Yorker picture. Maybe that’s why this has gotten so much attention, because of that thing that came out a couple days ago.”
Do Republicans not see that this sort of fear-mongering will backfire in the fall? Posted by Senator Kevin Bryant on his blog at www.kevinbryant.com ... more -

Anti-gay slurs painted on houses and cars in South Florida's gayest neighborhood
"Three homes and five vehicles were sprayed with anti-gay slogans in the 2800 block of NW 7th Ave in Wilton Manors early Friday morning.
One resident was using soap and water to wash out the anti-gay messages sprayed on his property that said "fag".
He explained to CBS4 Reporter Ted Scouten that he's not gay, which is all the more worrying why he was a target.
Another resident, Ron Helfrich, said his home and car were defaced, "They wrote gay on the door, in the living room, and on the couch."
''There's no reason for this to happen,'' Aaron Challancin said. ``We didn't do anything to anyone. We're normal people trying to live normal lives.
The incidents are being investigated by the Wilton Manors police department." "Three homes and five vehicles were sprayed with anti-gay slogans in the 2800 block of NW 7th Ave in Wilton Manors early Friday mornin... more -

Why are Atheists so Angry?
I saw a discussion (if you want to call it that) between Evolutionists and Creationists and the Atheists were so vile and angry in the discussion that I thought I would pose the question as to why Atheists are so angry.... Why is that? Almost every Atheist I've met has been very angry and arrogant when it comes to the topic of God. Well, at least they're not blowing themselves up over it like some other angry believers.... yet. :)

History of Palestine in Maps.
I hope this gives an historical and geopolitical perspective and puts the situation in context. The Arabs and Islam are the oppressors when discussing the problems of the middle east. The tiny nation of Israel just REFUSES to be oppressed any longer by these hostile nations all around them. Israel liberates themselves from 1500 years of Islamic oppression and suddenly they are the oppressors?!!! Man, you got it twisted.... Have you ever taken a look at the map of the middle east? Israel is definitely not the oppressor... I hope this gives an historical and geopolitical perspective and puts the situation in context. The Arabs and Islam are the oppressors... more

In case you don't know, Samir Kuntar, in a terrorist raid into Israel, broke into a family home, took the father and his 4 year old daughter at gunpoint down to the water's edge and then proceeded to execute the father with a point blank shotgun blast to the head in front of the man's 4 year old girl. He then proceeded to crush the girls skull against a rock using the butt of his shotgun.
And this is how they celebrate at his return home....
What is wrong with these people??!!!
In Kuntar's home in Abey, streets were decorated with banners welcoming the return of the former member of the radical Palestine Liberation Front. "Samir Kuntar is the conscience of Lebanon, Palestine and the Arab nation. Abey welcomes the hero, prisoner Samir Kuntar," reads one sign. Corporate Media And The Major Networks, Sold Us The War, And Refuse To Show The Mu...
During the Viet Nam war, we came home and watched it everyday on all of the news networks. As a result of it, Americans eventually became tired and angered by the war to the point of draft dodging, nationwide campus protesting, and military AWOL. The intense pressure put on the government by the American people finally made them bring the soldiers home. This war was different. This government has conspired with corporate controlled media to sell the war, but not show the war to the American public, as it did, forty years ago therefore, leaving most of the Americanpublic immune and incensitive to the reality of just how unfair, unneccesary, and inhumane war really is. As long as we did not have to hear about Iraqi women and children being murdered by American soldiers, it didn't bother us because we could say that we didn't know. Exposing Abu Ghraib was an accident.Soldiers brought photograpghs home and they fell into the hands of the wrong people. American Idol, The NFL, the NBA, sitcomes, and daytime soaps keeps us comfortably numb.
Fortunately for some of us, it didn't work.We were tired of getting high on anything but the truth. Though we may be small in numbers, we still have a divine universal obligation to report truth and help wake people up from this mad slumber that we've become addicted to, no matter the cost. The Iraqi war is a lie. The are over 1.2 million Iraqi people dead, and well over 5 million people that have becomed homeless and displaced because of this war. This video is the first in a mini-series of ruthless murder and displacement caused by this illegal invasion. Though we keep a constant monitor on hate groups in this country, this Iraqi war has given some of us permission to hate people outside of the U.S. because the media is teaching us to do so. Americans need to be reminded that it is wrong to hate anybody.

The rise of hate
I know I talk a lot about race and the irrelevance of the concept, but I think it is important, while we discuss the possibilities of having the first non white dude in the Big Chair, that we still have a lot of people who do not want to see this happen simply because his skin contains a bit more melanin. Racists and supremacists exist in the dark crevices of our society. I think now, when American culture is the state of flux and old-world rule systems and beliefs are being challenged and broken down, we need to shine a light on the ugly history of our country and put in the blood sweat and tears to make sure the world knows hate, bigotry and racism will not be the legacy of our country. I know it's ugly and a lot of people don't want to read or even believe this type of ugliness exists for that matter, but untreated wounds will only get worse. We need to deal with this now. I know I talk a lot about race and the irrelevance of the concept, but I think it is important, while we discuss the possibilities of ... more

Wars kill 5.4m in last 50 years
About 5.4 million deaths caused by armed conflicts occurred between 1955 and 2003 in 13 nations surveyed, ranging from a low of 7000 in the Democratic Republic of Congo to 3.8million killed in Vietnam.Previous research, based on media reports or before-and-after census figures, have tended to severely underestimate war-related fatalities among combatants and civilians, argues the study released yesterday. These so-called "passive" reports "are typically the only ones available during ongoing conflicts, and represent the most commonly cited sources for government and other estimates of war casualties", says the study, published in the British Medical Journal.Scientists from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington in Seattle, led by Ziad Obermeyer, used a new approach based on health survey data collected in 2002 and 2003. The World Health Organisation surveys queried one respondent for each household about sibling deaths.Even the new figures might underestimate the number of conflict fatalities, said Richard Garfield, of Columbia University."The study only includes violent deaths," he wrote in a commentary in the same journal. "In the poorest countries, where most conflicts now occur, a rise in deaths from infectious disease often dwarfs the number of violent deaths during a conflict."Professor Garfield added: "Most excess deaths in areas of conflict in developing countries occur in non-combatants, and these deaths are often not counted."
Some countries included in the study showed many times the number of violent war deaths counted in another widely cited report of armed-conflict fatalities compiled by Uppsala University in Sweden and the International Peace Research Institute in Oslo.During the 50 years covered by the new study, Bangladesh had 269,000 such deaths, with 141,000 in Zimbabwe, nearly five times more than in the Uppsala/IPRIO report. The figure for Sri Lanka jumped from 61,000 to 215,000.The violent death toll in Vietnam nearly doubled, to 3.8 million. But in the other countries examined - Burma, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Namibia and The Philippines - deaths dropped compared to earlier assessments. About 5.4 million deaths caused by armed conflicts occurred between 1955 and 2003 in 13 nations surveyed, ranging from a low of 7000 i... more
