    • British urged to point out baffling signs

A national audit is to be made of the UK's vast collection of ungrammatical, misspelt, out of date and inexplicably mystifying public signs, using the general public as error spotters.

The situation has long been tackled by grammar vigilantes, particularly in West London, where many signs have hand painted apostrophes squeezed into their rightful places.

Beginning in Leeds, local authorities now aim to eradicate signs which point both ways, direct tourists into closed-off alleyways or towards long-dismantled attractions, or have apostrophes missing.

Signs are usually there to assist you in life, helping you find your way. And then there are these signs ...

There are two types of common signs. The first sign is a warning sign, used to warn vehicles, pedestrians, or to pay attention to dangerous locations. The other signs are directional signs, usually used to provide vehicles and pedestrians with directional assistance. Usually...

Many of the so-called "caution signs" are often portrayed as universally recognized logos or drawings. These signs point out a specific area of caution, and try to draw attention to it's warning, although these signs can often be amusing, funny, and sometimes, just downright strange. In any case, proceed with caution.

    • McCain Rips Off Obama's Slogan And Logo

"Is John McCain trying to be the older, whiter, more conservative Barack Obama?

On Tuesday, the Senator co-opted the slogan that has come to personify Obama's candidacy, taking the Illinois Democrat's "Change You Can Believe In" and altering it into "A Leader You Can Believe In."

The line donned McCain's lime-green backdrop as he addressed supporters in Louisiana. During that speech, moreover, the Arizonan took his Obama-posing a step further, uttering the word "change" more than 30 times. Not that Obama can claim sole ownership of the word or idea, but still...

Now there is this. On Wednesday, the McCain campaign put out a new homepage, featuring his new, Obama-like slogan, and an image that seems uncannily similar to Obama's trademark campaign logo - the red and white stripped valley under what appears to be a blue sun (or in McCain's case, blue sun rays). Take a look."

    • Graffiti vandals forcing the village of Lunt to change it's name?

After so-called 'yobs' have repeatedly vandalised the village's welcome signs, calls have been made to finally change its name.

The village of Lunt has long seen the name being changed to something much more crude, but it is only now that a proposal to change the name has come about.

Even though many are tired of seeing the sign being graffiti'd, the move has been criticised by residents who believe that it shouldn't be the name that has to change, rather the 'vandals' that keep making the crude amendment.

Should the village be given a new name to try and stamp out any more risque graffiti or should the residents all hide in nearby bushes to catch out any perpetrators?
