Ventura: Neo-Cons may stage terror to stay in power
Former Governor of Minnesota Jesse Ventura warns that Neo-Cons are so desperate to maintain a grip on power that they could stage a terror event in order to create a pretext for attacking Iran.
Speaking on the Alex Jones Show before last night’s announcement that he would not be running for U.S. Senate, Ventura said a conflict with Iran was all but inevitable.
“I don’t see any way of avoiding it because I think it’s gonna be Bush’s last hurrah,” said Ventura, adding that another war front would only help the Republicans and John McCain.

Has Obama moved to the Right? Part 2
At the AIPAC conference Barack Obama shows that on foreign policy he has moved closer to McCain and Bush
In Part 2 of his commentary, The Real News Network Senior News Analyst Aijaz Ahmad talks about Senator Barack Obama's speech at the AIPAC policy conference in Washington DC this week. Obama talks about how he would deal with Iran including using military force if necessary to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons. He also suggests that in 2002 the US should have "pursued a strategy” to address the threat posed by Iran instead of invading Iraq.

Has Obama moved to the Right?
At the AIPAC conference Barack Obama shows that on foreign policy he has moved closer to McCain and Bush.
In Part 1 of his commentary, The Real News Network Senior News Analyst Aijaz Ahmad tells us that when Senator Barack Obama finished his speech at the AIPAC policy conference in Washington DC, he got an applause more thunderous than there had been for McCain on the first day . Obama has come along way from the days when Karl Rove called him a man of the far left. He no longer speaks of the "tragic plight of the Palestinians" and adds that postponing elections would have been the best way to deal with Hamas as they were sure to win a majority in free elections.

AIPAC and the Neocons
The American Israeli Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) is currently holding its annual policy conference in Washington, where not only the Israeli prime minister but also all three main US presidential candidates and Condi Rice are speaking.
AIPAC has developed a strong relationship with Republicans, as well as conservative Christians, since the years of the "Reagan Revolution." John McCain opened the conference, while Clinton and Obama closed on Wednesday in a joint session.
AIPAC has over 100,000 members and an operating annual budget which now soars above $100 million dollars. Over 7,000 of these members are attending the conference, and AIPAC has scheduled over 500 meetings with members of Congress to do their lobbying work on behalf of Israel.
So what's the deal with AIPAC? The American Israeli Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) is currently holding its annual policy conference in Washington, where not only ... more -
Iran, al Qaeda in secret talks ... "so neocon-controlled media would have you beli...
"Senior U.S. officials tell ABC News that in recent months there have been secret contacts between the Iranian government and the leadership of al Qaeda. It's a development that has caught the attention of top officials in the White House, the Pentagon and the intelligence community.
Senior U.S. officials tell ABC News that the government of Iran and al Qaeda leadership have secretly been in contact regarding the status of several of the terror group's high-level operatives under house arrest in that country.
According to U.S. officials familiar with highly sensitive intelligence on this issue, the contacts are on the status of high-level al Qaeda operatives, including two of Osama Bin Laden's sons, who have been under house arrest in Iran since 2003. The officials don't believe Iran will allow these operatives to go free, but said they don't know Iran's motivation for initiating the talks.
"The Iranians know there would be hell to pay if these guys were set free," a U.S. official told ABC News."

In the first half of the following lecture, Greg Palast explains how the Bush administration and the neoconservatives plan on stealing the 2008 elections by challenging absentee ballots of soldiers in the United States military who are serving overseas.
I especially found this lecture of interest after reading the news on 26 May 2008, that “the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff has written an unusual open letter to all those in uniform, warning them to stay out of politics as the nation approaches a presidential election in which the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan will be a central, and certainly divisive, issue.”

The Power of Nightmares (II): The Shadows in The Cave Part 1
The Power of Nightmares, subtitled The Rise of the Politics of Fear, is a BBC documentary film series, written and produced by Adam Curtis. The series consists of three one-hour films, consisting mostly of a montage of archive footage with Curtis's narration, which were first broadcast in the United Kingdom in late 2004 and have been subsequently aired in multiple countries and shown in several film festivals, including the 2005 Cannes Film Festival.
The films compare the rise of the American Neo-Conservative movement and the radical Islamist movement, making comparisons on their origins and noting strong similarities between the two. More controversially, it argues that the threat of radical Islamism as a massive, sinister organised force of destruction, specifically in the form of al-Qaeda, is in fact a myth perpetrated by politicians in many countries—and particularly American Neo-Conservatives—in an attempt to unite and inspire their people following the failure of earlier, more utopian ideologies.

Israel must be held to same nuclear scrutiny as Iran
18/05/08 "The Tennessean" -- - First, we went after nonexistent nuclear weapons in Iraq, and now we are consumed with the possibility that Iran might develop nuclear weapons sometime in the future.
Hillary Clinton has declared that she would obliterate Iran if it ever attacked Israel with a nuclear weapon. But what nobody wants to talk about is the fact that Israel has had a secret nuclear weapons program for more than 30 years that has produced well over 200 nuclear bombs.
Ever since Mordechai Vanunu, the Israeli nuclear technician, confirmed the existence of Israel's nuclear weapons program with his photographs of the secret underground bomb facility that were published in the London Sunday Times in 1986, the world has known that Israel has been making nuclear bombs but has pretended that they do not exist. Israel continues to publicly deny that it possesses nuclear weapons.
