One of my favorite directors, Kevin Smith, is filming his new flick in Pittsburgh this January. "Zack and Miri Make a Porno" starring Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks, is casting extras, and props to Nancy Mosser Casting--my past summer internship home!

Convicted rapist, lawyer plan appeal
The Daily Collegian writes:
Less then two hours after a judge sentenced Brian Conway to three to six years in prison for the 2005 rape of a Penn State student, the 22-year-old had a new lawyer and was well on his way to requesting a new trial.

Conway's new lawyer is quoted to say "sex with an intoxicated woman is not rape."

Student raises awareness by experiencing homelessness
Penn State student Ben Basalla-Taxis has been homeless for the week and only for the week. He is collecting donations with a cardboard sign, not taking showers and only getting food from students who give him some. When the Levees Broke- One of the most eye opening documentaries you will ever see...
I saw this film a few months ago but the things talked about in this film still stay with me. This film is called When the Levees Broke...A four hour documentary directed by Spike Lee. It is not like a Michael Moore style documentary where he goes out and jumps into the faces of politicians in order to make them feel uncomfortable....Lee is pretty much behind the camera the entire time and lets the facts and the survivors show you what really happened when Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. This film tackles many issues such as racism, the Bush administration and FEMAs handling of the situation, the media and how they all relate to the lives of the citizens who had their homes and their loved ones taken away from them. This cilp here specifically talks about how the media referred to these victims as refugees (which is typically known as someone who seeks refuge and safety in a country besides their own). This is a film definitely worth watching and will definitely spark conversation about this tragic event and how it was handled. I saw this film a few months ago but the things talked about in this film still stay with me. This film is called When the Levees Bro... more
