Your local news by way of the Philippines / India
The Tampa Tribune, with the blessing of it's corporate owners -- Media General, has outsourced it's advertising work to a firm in New Delhi, India. This is long after they outsourced subscription services to a call center in the Philippines.
This is not an uncommon issue with your local newspapers either. Though the story linked to focuses on the Tampa Tribune situation, it can be found that more and more newspapers are doing this. I really don't know what else to say, the story just moved me and I wanted to share it with others. An open mind and an open heart seems to be rare these days in my neck fo the woods and it's refreshing to see when someone can be open and caring for others down on their luck.
