A Frosty Moment Between Clinton, Obama
Hillary and Barack really don't seem to be on good terms these days. They came within one foot of each other last nite at Dubya's State of the Union and....did not even bother to acknowledge one another. Nice!
Politicians are such adults. Haha. At the end of the day, if u prefer Obama or Clinton...does it really matter? As long as Dubya ain't up there (or any other Republican), I'm happy. No need to divide our own party, right? Hillary and Barack really don't seem to be on good terms these days. They came within one foot of each other last nite at Dubya&... more -
Obama's response to Bush's final State of the Union address
The Google generation might not apparently 'get' the internet but it looks like Barack Obama does. Moments after Bush finished his final State of the Union address, Barack Obama planted himself in front of a camera and shared his thoughts. If the man doesn't make it to the White House, he's got a fine future in the Viewpoints section of this site.
It's another impressive speech from the articulate senator, focusing on the war in Iraq and threat from al Qaeda in Afghanistan, the need to unite and work with opposition for the benefit of the American public and the dire need for a health care reform.
It's the little dig at the end that I like:
"Each year as we watch the State of the Union, we see half the chamber clap and half stay seated and half the audience at home tune in but do they listen? Imagine if next year was different. Imagine if next year the entire nation had a president they can believe in." The Google generation might not apparently 'get' the internet but it looks like Barack Obama does. 'Lame duck' Bush goes quack quack economic growth quack quack
In his final State of the Union speech, President Bush tried to accomplish a simple goal: to get a tuned-out America to listen to him about fundamental issues of war, peace and a troubled economy.
He proposed no new programs like space travel to Mars or calls for great sacrifice and said that although the economy is slowing, "in the long run, Americans can be confident about their economic growth." In his final State of the Union speech, President Bush tried to accomplish a simple goal: to get a tuned-out America to listen to him ... more -
John Edwards Nails SOTU Charade
It is nothing but a joke. People standing there clapping and cheering a war criminal and a liar. And John Edwards gets it. At least he is still getting some coverage out here. Looking forward to voting for him in my primary next week. It is nothing but a joke. People standing there clapping and cheering a war criminal and a liar. And John Edwards gets it. 2008 State of the Union discussion
As the campaign moves forward and the Democratic candidates go at each other, this video, which shows some of the many broken promises made by President Bush in his 2007 SOTU speech, contains some excellent talking points they may want use when they finally begin to focus on the mess our country is in and who is to blame for it ? namely, the Republican Party and their president. The current batch of GOP candidates have vowed to carry on Bush?s failed policies if elected and it would be nice to see the Democratic candidates driving these points home at every opportunity. Remember the REAL bad guys? -by Logan Murphy As the campaign moves forward and the Democratic candidates go at each other, this video, which shows some of the many broken promises... more

Bush's State of Union to focus on economy
With fear of an impending recession, President Bush on Monday night will use his last State of the Union address to revisit unfinished business and press for quick action to keep the economy afloat, administration officials say.
Bush, who prefers focusing on a bike ride or a book most weekends, spent Sunday afternoon behind closed doors at the White House rehearsing the speech. Senior aides said that after a slew of tweaks, the speech runs about 42 minutes.

Standing Ovation
This an art experimental art video that I have been showing over the past year. It is cut from George W. Bush's State of the Union Address from 2004.
This is a short section of a video that is meant to be shown as loop. The perpetual clapping of the politicians closely mirrors the attitudes of the United States citizens. The standing ovation acts as double meaning signifying that we have all been a little too complacent, all too apathetic, and all very happy to see this president leave office.
My concern lies within the connection between the audience, the artist and the rest of the world. Reframing familial concepts and placing them in a context of relevance and social awareness has been a fertile ground for creating compelling images.
For me the most compelling images are not those which speak to us blatantly, rather they are the kind that remain with us for the rest of our lives. Technology has been the medium that has afforded me the opportunity to reach a broader audience. The distribution of artistic thoughts through digital means has only begun to alter our perceptions of what art can become.
God Damn I love digital media. This an art experimental art video that I have been showing over the past year. It is cut from George W. Bush's State of the Unio... more -
