    • Lifting the Veil on the Agenda Behind not Wanting Al Gore to Run for President

Has anyone noticed that there is another movement in this country that is trying to keep Mr. Al Gore out of politics at any cost? This concept is mentioned time and again in articles lately that say that many in government fear Al Gore’s return to politics because they know that if in fact he does except the people’s challenge to run for president, then he would be unstoppable against any other candidate. Hillary’s people shake when they hear talk of Gore running and the top Republican candidates don’t even wish to speak of it. Is this a threat because he would reshape the government in ways that would change our country in fundamental ways? I know that both big business and those who run the government at present don’t want to see a man of such high moral standards run for this office because they know that the laws that have been so unscrupulously passed to give them unprecedented powers would quickly be revoked. What I don’t understand are the individuals who write glowing statements of Al Gore’s integrity, but say that he would lose all this integrity just by trying to right the wrongs that men of money and power have committed. These men of power have beat down the world with their wars and starved humanity of the very basics in life, and now that Al has shown the world this ultimate betrayal they tremble at the thought of his acquisition of the most powerful position in the world today, that of President of the United States. We should remember the last Presidential Race and the oh-so-underhanded ways that people, pretending to be individuals, lied about the Democratic candidate then, trying to convince this country that Kerry’s service was disingenuous. I think what is going on is very similar, but since the people of the world cannot be convinced that Gore is disingenuous they say he’s doing much better things for this world as a citizen who speaks from the side lines to the governments and corporations. They essentially are twisting common sense, saying that if Gore is effective as an individual that he somehow will be less effective by taking on the role of President. When in fact, if Mr. Gore listened to the call of the people, he could do all the things he has wanted to do throughout his life. We all recognize that any great task will take more than one man to accomplish, but if one man doesn’t start this movement, and the world follow him then we are doomed to extinction. Great change has always started with one man brave enough to stand up and say something is very wrong then it spreads through the consciousness of the rest of humanity. Al Gore is the one man who has opened up the consciousness of the many and now he should lead the way to greater accomplishments. He has trained many others to do the work that he does now. He now needs to lead the world to a better way of life and doing business. I have many ideas as to how to help accomplish this and hopefully my next article will be able to cover that. First I thought I should speak to those who were confused or concerned by these nay-sayers who have tried to cloud the issues by pretending to be a friend of Al Gore. When in reality,.0 these people are overcome by the shear numbers of us that want to see this government and our world changed that they have reverted to underhanded tactics. They stroke him with one sentence and then dismiss his morality with the next. If any of you out there understand and have also seen this then please comment on it here, and please let others know that there really is another movement out there that is trying hard to keep Al under wraps so that they can continue their rein of terror and degradation upon this world. Peace and Power to the People! RUN AL RUN!! Has anyone noticed that there is another movement in this country that is trying to keep Mr. Al Gore out of politics at any cost? This... more

    • Wherefore Al Gore

Follows the progress of a campaign in Western Massachusetts to place Al Gore on the ballot for the Democratic Party primary. This is an interesting effort, thoroughly grass-roots, being undertaken by some 230 similar groups around the country. With Gore having just won the Nobel Peace Prize, an Oscar earlier in the year, huge international recognition and unencumbered by the negatives attached to the front-runners in the Democratic field, Gore supporters think he represents the best chance for the Democratic Party to capture the White House in 2008. • Paging Donna Brazile, you are wanted in the kitchen.

      Hi Donna Brazile,
Glad to know you are not currently working for anybody's campaign. Get ready, the party is about to start. If my hunch is correct, and if everybody's wishes and dreams come true, you should be getting a call very soon. I have a feeling you already got a call, and that is why you are not currently working for anybody else's campaign.

If Al Gore were to decide to run , I know his first phone call would be to you. This isn't a guessing game, it's more like "pure hope"

Let's Go. We are all ready to cook with grease, ready to stir the pot.
(This photo of Al Gore was taken after he signed a copy of his book, and we talked about him running in 08. I left that event thinking he was going to run. It was one of those moments you don't forget.

I am ready to donate. I am ready to help. Just say the word.

Note to Al Gore: In general the country is in a deep depression. Feel free to jump in the race and give me, and the rest of the country real hope.

    • Global Warming and the 2008 Campaign

Global warming should be the top priority issue of the 2008 Presidential campaign, so that there will be a mandate for major policy changes in the next Congress. The candidates announced so far are not taking global warming seriously. I have concluded that Al Gore must run for President, with global warming solutions as his top priority, so that he can lead the USA to make the necessary changes. • Markets say "Gore would obliterate any of them, were he to run."

Just as I suspected. Seems the Invisible Hand of the Market has decided.

According to Robin Hanson of Portfolio.com, Al Gore is the most electable erm candidate beating Hillary, all the Democrats, Giuliani and all the Republicans.

Seems you Americans are ready to get serious. Be nice to have you back in the Reality based community.

      Quoting from said piece:

"Which means that InTrade's traders reckon Gore has a 58% chance of getting the nomination if he runs, and an 89% chance of winning the presidency if he's nominated, and an all-over probability of 52% that he'll become president if he throws his hat in the ring."

The blog article goes on to say:

"Meanwhile, the favorite for president, Hillary Clinton, has already thrown her hat in the ring, and is given a 48% chance of becoming president. (Giuliani's in a distant second place, on 17.6%.) Which means, I think, that Al Gore is considered to be the best presidential candidate in America, on a pure electability criterion."

He also just happens to be the best qualified person for the office.

Socrates said that any person who sought political office too readily was to be mistrusted. He said that only a person who sought office because they feared what others may do with it was acting from good intentions. Those Greeks, eh?

I recommend putting "The Assault on Reason" on your reading list btw. Some helpful hints in there for restoring the Constitution, saving democracy and so forth.

      Cheerio.

The CBS poll has a margin of error of 5%.

That is a statistical dead heat.

      Meanwhile on:

      http://pundits.thehill.com/2007/10/26/oil-soars-fires-r...

The well respected Brent Budowsky writes:

"Gore’s appeal is not merely his experience as vice president, congressman, senator and Nobel Laureate but the larger truth that he is a champion of a sweeping worldview and a fearless opponent of Bush wrongs at a time
when throughout the nation, Democrats and independents believe their Washington-based leaders have been timid, fearful and ineffective."

      and:

"A Gore-Obama ticket could well sweep the nation and inspire the world, while inspiring the Democratic Party to far more courage and principle than it has shown at any time during the Bush years."

Somtimes pundits get it. Mostly not. But sometimes they do. And slowly the momentum is building.

Now will one of you kindly souls post this everywhere you possibly can?

    • November 2nd is Al Gore's Deadline for Filing to Run in the New Hampshire Primary!

Al, I don't think you're our savior, no one person can save a "nation that chooses to be asleep" as spoken by Princeton professor Cornel West on Bill Maher's Real Time show on HBO on September 7th! You are just the best catalyst for positive change this country could have right now! Hillary is not our best option. Rapper/Actor Mos Def said it so well on that same Real Time Episode: "Hillary Clinton is just another form of dynasty to me. They passin? the presidency around like a party joint. It goes from the Bushes, the Clintons to the Bushes and back..."! He and Professor West have endorsed Barack Obama, but I fear he doesn't have the experience to have the support needed to win. (Maybe he would make a great running mate for you as others have suggested...)

As far as Hillary is concerned, it's one thing to come up with a health plan that says what everyone wants to hear but another to come up with a realistic plan to fund it that has the feasibility of getting passed by Congress! The Democratic Congress has been a disappointment. They should have revoked the President's authorization to use force against terrorism immediately...now we are facing more impetuous reactions to Iran from the Bush Administration. It has become impossible for us, the general public, to separate fact from fiction from an Administration that ?cries wolf? and a Congress that?s so scared of offending their electorate that they stand for nothing! I respectfully submit, dear former Vice-President Gore, that the handwriting is on the wall, and that the "Inconvenient Truth" for you is that this country needs you to make this sacrifice and run for President in 2008! Global warming and your other endeavors are in place, have a life of their own, and can't they be overseen by those who already help you? You, as President, are the best hope of your initiatives in this regard coming to fruition! You will have so much support you won't know what to do with us all! Thousands of us are tempted to write your name in anyway, so you might as well make it official so it will count!

    • CBS News Poll - Gore emerges as a serious contender!

Hillary is *not* inevitable if Al steps into the race. A new CBS Poll shows that there is no significant difference in support for Gore versus Clinton among Democratic primary voters (even though CBS has given their poll results a different spin).

Keep in mind that in the CBS Poll, 456 interviews were conducted with Democratic primary voters. The margin of error for this subgroup is plus or minus 5 percentage points.

"When former Vice President Al Gore, who has not entered the race, is added as a choice for the Democratic nomination, he emerges as a serious contender. Gore garners support of 32 percent of Democratic primary voters, while Clinton gets 37 percent, Obama 16 percent, and Edwards 7 percent."!

Given that the MOE is 5% and Gore and Clinton differ by only 5%, then this poll does not demonstrate a statistically significant difference in support for Gore v. Clinton.

IMO, if he declared his candidacy, his numbers would rise drawing voters from Clinton, Obama, and Edwards. Why? If he declares now or early next year, then his views on all issues - climate crisis, war, health care, etcetera - would get exposure and he would attract more voters. Right now most people aren't aware of his views. Also, if he declared his candidacy and announced up front that Obama or Edwards would be his VP - his ratings would rise dramatically.

Meanwhile over at DraftGore.com the number of signatures is nearing 220,000
      http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/algore2008/signatori...

And over at Democracy for America Gore has captured over 27% of the votes as a write-in candidate - go vote for Al !

    • WHY IS AL GORE NOT RUNNING?

We were told that he has the energy and the will. Has he ever heard of "Service to his Country"? I have followed and backed Al Gore from the beginning! I have hoped and prayed he would run again for President! Sure he is doing well now, 3 new books, and head of an investment firm and a TV station, but.....these are but diversions for him from his duty as a candidate for President. I wonder why? Is it because he was given a raw deal? All of us have experienced injustice. We sacrifice and hope for the best. We do what's right and we wait. If Al Gore really wants to make a difference, he should get off the sidelines and run. Not for himself, and not for attention or glory. He should, in my opinion, do that which may not bring him as much glory as he has received for himself, but might benefit his Country. He gives fine speeches. What else has he got for his Country, I wonder? We were told that he has the energy and the will. Has he ever heard of "Service to his Country"? I have followed and backed Al Gore ... more
