Charise: Albinism and Medical Problems
In 1974, when Charise was born, a childhood free of major health problems is not what life had in store for her. At the age of nine she was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. By the time Charise became an adult, she'd had several surgeries, a temporary ostomy bag, and ultimately had her large intestines removed entirely; after which she developed Crohn's disease. Arthritis has left her in need of knee replacements and a lifetime of damage to her skin from the sun has lead to re-occurring skin cancers.
Charise, being blessed with a mature and supportive family had incredible support throughout her developmental years. They are what kept her grounded when the social pains far outweighed her physical ills. There was no shortage of bullies and teasers in Charise's life. Even as an adult she can't escape the verbal abuse of strangers with statements like "what are you?".
In "Charise: A Portrait of an African American with Albinism", Charise shares with us, her pains and her joys. She talks about her family life and what it is like having Albinism from medical, social and personal perspectives.

Our Side of Joy - Identical Twins
Our side of joy offers a portrait of the family dynamics of a Cuban family through the eyes of identical twins, Michelle(McCray) and Marlene Tamayo. Their story offers an in depth look into the unique bond between sisters, siblings, parents, kids, and significant others. What kind of relationship do these sisters have? Where do they see their relationship in the future? In what ways do the twins touch the lives of their siblings and vice versa? What role did their close relationship to their siblings and parents play in their emotional health?
Using photographs, interviews and family footage, this film will build a cohesive portrait of the familial relationships of Michelle(McCray) and Marlene Tamayo.

Daphne Oram: electronic music pioneer
What a fantastic portrait, don't you think?
Daphne Oram may not seem like the most obvious pioneer of electronic music, but she was in fact one of its great instigators. Working at the BBC Radiophone Workshop as a sound engineer, Oram developed many experimental techniques for composing, as well as inventing Oramics - a system of converting drawings on 35mm film into sound textures.

Alicia Boole Stott
Alicia Boole Stott was an Irish woman of the end of the 19th century who worked on four dimensional geometry. Although she never studied mathematics, nor went to a University, she learned herself to ``see'' the fourth dimension. She is remembered for finding all three dimensional sections of the four dimensional polytopes (i.e., the analogues of the Platonic solids in three dimensions), and for the discovery of many of the semi-regular polytopes. She built beautiful models of the sections of the polytopes. Due to her close collaboration with Professor P. H. Schoute of Groningen, a collection of some of her models is present at the University of Groningen.
Despite having no formal education in mathematics, she still possessed a great power of geometric visualization in hyperspace. From the age of seventeen until her death, she remained interested in regular and semi-regular four-dimensional polytopes and made several important discoveries in this area. For example, she showed that there were 6 regular polyhedra in 4-dimensional space and made physical models related to her work. For those who have never been, Gatorland is the oldest theme park in Orlando centered around, you guessed it, Alligators. Tim came to work at Gatorland back in 1991 as a trainer for those who wanted to become Gator Wrestlers. Most of the shows that the park puts on today were thought up and perfected by Tim himself.
