    • Blueprint For Global Enslavement: The New World Order is Here

Alex Jones' brand new documentary Endgame charts the history of the elite blueprint for social domination and control, outlining the ultimate plans that those who consider themselves the anointed have for our planet.

The first section of the film documents the rise of the banking cartels, who since 1800 have funded both sides of almost every war. Endgame charts the usurpation of the British economy by the Rothchild family who went on to bankroll all factions during the first world war providing armaments companies through banks in France, Austria, Germany and England.

Endgame then documents the fallout of the great war and the attempts to form a controlling League of Nations, which was ultimately blocked by Congress. Such frustration on the part of the elite led to the rise of two factions, fascists and Fabian socialists. Endgame documents how bankers again funded both sides during WW2 which ultimately led to the creation of the UN and the beginning of the movement to implement three power blocs via incremental globalism.

The second section of the film covers the Bilderberg group and Alex's documentation of the elite group at the 2006 meeting in Ottawa. It covers Alex's detention on the Canadian border at the behest of Bilderberg insiders themselves. Alex and his crew describe how they were interrogated for nearly twelve hours before finally being allowed entry into the country.

Featuring extensive interviews with Jim Tucker and Daniel Estulin, veteran reporters who have been covering the meetings for 27 and 15 years respectively, Alex reveals how it is an offence for any member of the federal or state government to meet with foreign power brokers without the express authority of the president or Congress.

Endgame then shifts focus to the impending movement towards a North American Union, presenting reports and documentation relating to the efforts toward regional harmonization between the US Mexico and Canada at the secretive Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) summits, which refer to an "evolution by stealth" agenda.

      PROOF OF CONCEPT...

CONFIRMED : ALBERTO GONZALES & CREW ARE VERMIN !

The most interesting thing about it, or what I thought was the extraordinary, is the report says that they couldn’t get to the bottom of a lot of what happened with the firing of the US attorneys, because there is a wholesale lack of cooperation by senior White House officials. Karl Rove refused to cooperate with the investigation, give them an interview. Harriet Miers, who was the White House counsel at the time and an architect of this, refused to be interviewed. Two of—two deputy White House counsel declined to be interviewed.

The White House refused to give over documents. They refused to give over emails. To show you the absurdity, some of the emails and documents that they’ve refused to give to their own Justice Department, I published them in a story. Somebody in the administration leaked them to me. And so, they’re a matter of public record.

And so, essentially, you have one part of the government, the White House, refusing to cooperate and assist the Justice Department in a very important oversight function. And, you know, I would add that the lack of cooperation, the refusal to talk to investigators, the refusal to turn over documents, is virtually unprecedented.

The report did find that the firings—no surprises for those who have followed this or most of your listeners, but the firings were politically motivated. The US attorneys were fired to make room for people who were more ideologically or politically attuned to the White House.
A lot of it had apparently to do with the voter fraud agenda, where some Republicans, like Karl Rove, thought that they were losing because of reported voter fraud by constituency groups associated with Democrats. These US attorneys actually investigated these claims by the White House, but just couldn’t bring cases, and they couldn’t find any evidence of this. And so, again and again, Karl Rove, people at the White House pressed for the removal of specific US attorneys.

And the US attorneys who they did remove—one of the things getting lost in the coverage today is that these were the best and the brightest of our public servants. These were considered the cream of the crop and some of the finest US attorneys we’ve had in a generation. http://www.democracynow.org/2008/10/1/justice_dept_appo...

    • Cancel Elections?

Union issues often fall predictably along party lines. However, when you find an ultra=liberal like former Democrat presidential candidate George McGovern agreeing with Republican presidential candidate John McCain, you know you have an unusual issue before Congress and the American people.

Such is the case with the erroneously named “Employee Free Choice Act” which would strip the right to a secret ballot from every American worker involved in a union election and eliminate choice for workers. The unusual alliance of left and right opposing this undemocratic power grab of a bill derives from a shared support for a cornerstone of our democracy — the right to a secret ballot and the right to keep private how one chooses to vote. Nothing less than saving the right to vote is at issue. In a recent speech, Sen. McCain recently pointed out that Sen. Obama, who voted for the bill “wants to take away the fundamental right of workers to have a secret ballot when voting to be part of a union.” For factchecking purposes one could consult George McGovern to confirm McCain’s statement.

In August in the editorial pages of the Wall Street Journal, McGovern, a liberal icon, raised alarm about the Employee Free Choice Act [EFCA] which passed the House of Representatives last year with far too little attention paid to the threat to workers this bill would impose. McGovern wrote that the measure “runs counter to ideals that were once at the core of the labor movement. Instead of providing a voice for the unheard, EFCA risks silencing those who would speak.... Under EFCA, workers could lose the freedom to express their will in private, the right to make a decision without anyone peering over their shoulder, free from fear of reprisal.”

    • Austria braced for right-wing surge in elections

The man who has inherited Jorg Haider's mantle as the figurehead of Austria's far right is expected to scoop up a fifth of the popular vote in national elections today in the latest advance for a European party campaigning on anti-immigration policies.

The dramatic rise of Heinz-Christian Strache and the once ailing Freedom Party, formerly led by Haider, has accompanied growing Austrian sentiment against foreigners, economic woes and a widespread disillusionment with the two main centrist parties.

Today's expected results will be seen as a triumph for Strache, a politician who has made a virtue of being even tougher on immigrants than his party's former leader. Polls have suggested that substantial numbers of the young and elderly, blue-collar workers and middle classes will turn out to vote for the man who strengthened his popularity through slogans such as: 'If you want an apartment, all you need is a headscarf.'

In interviews and rallies, Strache has railed against the leading figures of the political establishment, labelling the country's leaders as 'clowns' and 'traitors' who have 'sold out' Austria to foreigners. His old friend Haider - who led a breakaway from the Freedom Party in 2005 - is now called a 'political dwarf'.

AC Milan goalkeeper Christan Abbiati has stated in an Italian magazine that he is a fascist. The interview in Sportweek, published today, reads, "I am not ashamed to proclaim my political beliefs. I share the ideals of fascism, such as the fatherland and the values of the Catholic religion."

AC Milan's chairman is billionaire Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, within whose parliamentary alliance is a party which clings onto neo-fascism and in some cases even extols the Mussolini era.

    • ECONOMISTS AGAINST BAILOUT

      * FAIRNESS, AMBIGUITY & LONG TERM EFFECTS NOT ADDRESSED *

One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we've been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We're no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It is simply too painful to acknowledge -- even to ourselves -- that we've been so credulous - Carl Sagan

      ************************************************************************************************************

To the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President pro tempore of the Senate:

26/09/09 As economists, we want to express to Congress our great concern for the plan proposed by Treasury Secretary Paulson to deal with the financial crisis. We are well aware of the difficulty of the current financial situation and we agree with the need for bold action to ensure that the financial system continues to function. We see three fatal pitfalls in the currently proposed plan:

      1) Its fairness. The plan is a subsidy to investors at taxpayers’ expense. Investors who took risks to earn profits must also bear the losses. Not every business failure carries systemic risk. The government can ensure a well-functioning financial industry, able to make new loans to creditworthy borrowers, without bailing out particular investors and institutions whose choices proved unwise.

      2) Its ambiguity. Neither the mission of the new agency nor its oversight are clear. If taxpayers are to buy illiquid and opaque assets from troubled sellers, the terms, occasions, and methods of such purchases must be crystal clear ahead of time and carefully monitored afterwards.

      3) Its long-term effects. If the plan is enacted, its effects will be with us for a generation. For all their recent troubles, America's dynamic and innovative private capital markets have brought the nation unparalleled prosperity. Fundamentally weakening those markets in order to calm short-run disruptions is desperately short-sighted.

For these reasons we ask Congress not to rush, to hold appropriate hearings, and to carefully consider the right course of action, and to wisely determine the future of the financial industry and the U.S. economy for years to come.

"The legislation came together in a remarkably secret process that concentrated decision-making power in the hands of a few lawmakers."

In keeping with the tradition of recent years, Bush held a gun to his own head and threatened to pull the trigger if his demands weren't met. According to the AP, "To earn President Bush's signature rather than a veto, House and Senate negotiators dropped several provisions he opposed. They include a ban on private interrogators in U.S. military detention facilities and what would have amounted to congressional veto power over a security pact with Iraq."

      ALSO...

      THE WAR ECONOMY
      http://pr.thinkprogress.org/

Congress and the administration are embroiled in contentious talks over on the details of a $700 billion infusion into the financial system, intended to restore liquidity and maintain the flow of credit. But the talks stalled yesterday. "It was an implosion that spilled out from behind closed doors into public view in a way rarely seen in Washington," the New York Times observed. Tonight, Sens. Barack Obama (D-IL) and John McCain (R-AZ) are scheduled to debate foreign policy matters in Oxford, MS. While the subject matter seems disconnected from the situation in financial markets, prescient economists predicted this fall-out from the Iraq war long ago. In 2002, Gerd Hausler, director of international capital markets at the IMF, said that "a serious conflict with Iraq would not be a very healthy development" for the financial markets. Robert Shapiro, undersecretary of commerce in the Clinton administration stated, "If the [Iraq] conflict wears on or, worse, spreads, the economic consequences become very serious." The debt was $5.7 trillion when Bush took office; it will be $10.3 trillion by the time he leaves. While Congress hesitates to appropriate $700 billion for the financial crisis, the administration still is pouring $12 billion a month into Iraq, also raising the question of how the Iraq war funds could be spent better at home.

IRAQ RECESSION?: A significant reason for the current $9.6 trillion federal debt has been the Iraq war, which the U.S. largely financed through borrowing. This week, President Bush said that the crisis began after "a massive amount of money flowed into the United States from investors abroad because our country is an attractive and secure place to do business," which led to easy credit and to the housing bust. But the problem isn't simply one of excessive foreign investment because of businesses. "It's that the U.S. had to borrow money from foreign nations at an alarming rate, after it dug itself into debt paying for the Iraq War while cutting taxes," The Wonk Room observed. Thus, the United States had to turn to investment from abroad for financing. This, as well as lax regulation and oversight of Wall Street contributed to the credit troubles. Currently, 45 percent of Treasury securities are owned by foreign nations, with the most owned by China and Japan. Other nations owned less than 20 percent of these securities as recently as 1994. Bush left out of his assessment the fact that much of the foreign investment went to finance a war and his tax cuts.

Palin will help to establish a true and irreversible ‘fear society’ in this once free once proud nation.

Please understand what you are looking at when you look at Sarah “Evita” Palin. You are looking at the designated muse of the coming American police state.

You have to understand how things work in a closing society in order to understand “Palin Power.” A gang or cabal seizes power, usually with an affable, weak figurehead at the fore. Then they will hold elections — but they will make sure that the election will be corrupted and that the next affable, weak figurehead is entirely in their control. Remember, Russia has Presidents; Russia holds elections. Dictators and gangs of thugs all over the world hold elections. It means nothing. When a cabal has seized power you can have elections and even presidents, but you don’t have freedom.

I realized early on with horror what I was seeing in Governor Palin: the continuation of the Rove-Cheney cabal, but this time without restraints. I heard her echo Bush 2000 soundbites (”the heart of America is on display”) and realized Bush’s speechwriters were writing her — not McCain’s — speeches. I heard her tell George Bush’s lies — not McCain’s — to the American people, linking 9/11 to Iraq. I heard her make fun of Barack Obama for wanting to prevent the torture of prisoners — this is Rove-Cheney’s enthusiastic S and M, not McCain’s, who, though he shamefully colluded in the 2006 Military Tribunals Act, is also a former prisoner of war and wrote an eloquent Newsweek piece in 2005 opposing torture. I saw that she was even styled by the same skillful stylist (neutral lipstick, matte makeup, dark colors) who turned Katharine Harris from a mall rat into a stateswoman and who styles all the women in the Bush orbit — but who does not bother to style Cindy McCain.

Then I saw and heard more. Palin is embracing lawlessness in defying Alaskan Legislature subpoenas — this is what Rove-Cheney, and not McCain, believe in doing. She uses mafia tactics against critics, like the police commissioner who was railroaded for opposing handguns in Alaskan battered women’s shelters — Rove’s style, not McCain’s. I realized what I was seeing.

      [...]

What’s the plan? It is this. McCain doesn’t matter. Reputable dermatologists are discussing the fact that in simply actuarial terms, John McCain has a virulent and life-threatening form of skin cancer. It is the elephant in the room, but we must discuss the health of the candidates: doctors put survival rates for someone his age at two to four years. I believe the Rove-Cheney cabal is using Sarah Palin as a stalking horse, an Evita figure, to put a popular, populist face on the coming police state and be the talk show hostess for the end of elections as we know them. If McCain-Palin get in, this will be the last true American election. She will be working for Halliburton, KBR, Rove and Cheney into the foreseeable future — for a decade perhaps — a puppet “president” for the same people who have plundered our treasure, are now holding the US economy hostage and who murdered four thousand brave young men and women in a way of choice and lies.

And what best way to keep the people docile than to keep them in the dark. We are back IN Plato’s cave.

Worst of all, since Edward Bernays it has become an art to manipulate the will of the people. The obvious and tragic failure of the fourth estate has more to do with framing a narrative that serves the ruling class than with informing us or telling the truth.

So the notion of how the ones involved, including the present executive branch, are merely incompetent nincompoops, is but a philosophical banana peel. It is an orchestrated and well planed operation to bypass the will of WE THE PEOPLE and turn us into WE THE SHEEPLE !

"A cynical, mercenary, demagogic press will produce in time a people as base as itself "- Joseph Pulitzer

Just a quick reminder of what THEY are fighting for…

The 5% richest among us owns 83% of Wall Street stocks. Even worst, 53% of these stock are in only 1% of these happy few's hands.

The salary of the middle class american has shrunk by 4% while the Bush/Cheney admin took over, while the poorest has been slashed by 20%. (a fifth of the population). Meanwhile, Fortune 500 CEOs enjoyed a 51% increase.

In the 70’s the difference between a CEO and his employee’s paycheck was 60 to 1, it is now 350 to 1 !

"This is an impressive crowd : the Haves and the Have-Mores" - Presidential candidate G.W. Bush / Waldorf Astoria, at a $800 / plate dinner in Octobre 2000

When Reagan took over in 1980, one percent of the population owned 33% of the wealth. In 2006 it was 50%. Now, a hundred fifty million Americans own less than 3%. The predatory mortgage bank industry made sure to make it even worst.

"Washington has become Versailles. We are ruled, entertained and informed by courtiers. The popular media are courtiers. The Democrats, like the Republicans, are courtiers. Our pundits and experts are courtiers. We are captivated by the hollow stagecraft of political theater as we are ruthlessly stripped of power. It is smoke and mirrors, tricks and con games. We are being had." - Chris Hedges

So there ya go, continue to absorb the journalistic pabulum to your own risk, but remember, THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE INDEED !

    • Welcome to the final stages of the coup...

      By Larisa Alexandrovna

If you must break the law, do it to seize power: in all other cases observe it. ~ Julius Caesar

In 2000, the long fought for and long admired democracy of the United States of America began a slow and steady decline toward fascism - a Bush family tradition - with the installment of a president - a man the citizens overwhelmingly rejected (although the funny math told a still believed myth) - by a few corrupt judges on the US Supreme Court. That coup is now nearly complete and checkmate is all but unavoidable.

Let me first point you to the Bush administration's so-called Wall Street bailout bill, here, so that you can see for yourself that this treachery is being conducted in the light of day. Fascism is finally and formally out of the right-wing closet even if the F word is not yet openly being used (although it should be, and often).

Now, if you do not yet understand that the Wall Street crisis is a man-made disaster done through intentional deregulation and corruption, I have a bridge in Alaska to sell to you (or Sara Palin does anyway). This manufactured crisis is now to be remedied, if the fiscal fascists get their way, with the total transfer of Congressional powers (the few that still remain) to the Executive Branch and the total transfer of public funds into corporate (via government as intermediary) hands.

Adam Davidson of NPR blogs about the so-called bailout bill as follows:

"I would guess that this has to be one of the biggest peacetime transfers of power from Congress to the Administration in history. (Anyone know?). Certainly one of the most concise.

"The Treasury Secretary can buy broadly defined assets, on any terms he wants, he can hire anyone he wants to do it and can appoint private sector companies as financial deputies of the US government. And he can write whatever regulation he thinks are needed."

Most importantly, Davidson points to this passage in the bill:

"Decisions by the Secretary pursuant to the authority of this Act are non-reviewable and committed to agency discretion, and may not be reviewed by any court of law or any administrative agency."

The Bush family, in the form of Prescott Bush, has tried a more aggressive coup before in order to install fascism in this country. This treasonous plot was called "the Business Plot," because the high-level plotters - including Prescott Bush - were Wall Street men who openly supported fascism.

    • THE FINANCIAL MELTDOWN EXPLAINED !

But first *** A short explanation of how we got to where we are

Today's banking crisis is the THIRD trillion dollar plus
US-caused financial meltdown in the last twenty years.

Each one of these crises came into being through the same basic
mechanism...the fraudulent over-valuing of financial assets by
Wall Street - with a "wink and a nod" (and sometimes a lot more)
from the White House and Congress.

The fraudulently valued assets stimulate the economy, impart
the illusion of health and then, inevitably, the fraud goes
too far and the whole house of card comes painfully crashing
      back to earth.

The three trillion dollar plus frauds were:

Fraud #1: The so-called "Savings and Loan Crisis" of the late 80s

Fraud #2: The so-called "Tech Bubble" of the late 90s

Fraud #3: The so-called "Credit Crisis" of today

      *** How the scam works

The mechanism of these frauds is simplicity itself...

...Take a shaky financial asset and blow up its value
and then sell as much of it as you can.

In the "Savings and Loan Crisis," the instrument was junk bonds.

In the "Tech Bubble" it was Internet stocks.

In the "Credit Crisis" it was individual mortgages collected
into pools and then re-sold to investors.

In each case, normal, well established "bread and butter"
financial principles were consciously thrown away by Wall Street
with no hint of protest from federal regulators.

***The "Savings and Loan Crisis" dissected

Junk bonds caused the Saving and Loan crisis which
resulted in the US taking over the assets of hundreds of
banks and selling them back over time to the marketplace
      at fire sale prices.

Junk bonds, which caused the "Savings and Loan Crisis" were
shaky bonds that were pumped up by deliberate misrepresentation
and what I call "staged dealing."

Bonds get their value from two things: the amount of interest
they pay and how safe they are.

"Junk" bonds have to pay higher interest because they are less
safe. Therefore, until the "Savings and Loan Crisis," savings
and loan banks banks were not allowed by law to buy them and call
      them assets.

Reagan/Bush changed all this and then a group of Wall Street
fraudsters used the new loophole to kick off an orgy of junk
bond creation and junk bond selling to banks and insurance
      companies.

The crooks would deal the junk bonds back and forth
amongst themselves thereby establishing their "value"
and then they'd sell them to outsiders. The bonds
then became "assets" which could be borrowed against
and leveraged to buy even more bonds.

When the bonds failed, the banks failed and in stepped the
US government to "fix" the problem that it created at the cost
of at least one trillion dollars to US tax payers.

      Deja vu, eh?

      ***The "Tech Bubble" dissected

The instrument of fraud in the "Tech Bubble" was Internet
      stocks, start ups in particular.

A stock gets its value from the underlying company's sales,
its growth and its overall prospects for the future.

Pre-tech bubble, companies used to have to prove themselves
by being in existence for several years before they could
be sold on major exchanges. That standard was thrown away
      during the tech bubble.

To pump of their values, the companies engaged in
"staged dealing" just like the junk bond crooks.

Company #1 would "sell" 20 million dollars in banner
ads to Company #2 which would in turn "sell" 20 million
in banner ads to Company #1.

In fact, nobody sold anybody anything. Company #2 ran
ads for Company #1 and billed it for them. Company #1
ran ads for Company #2 and billed for an equal amount.

These should have been called media trades not sales, but
Wall Street was happy to claim them as legitimate cash sales
and then use the sales numbers to fraudulently value these
companies - many of them totally worthless - in the
hundreds of millions and sometimes even the billions.
But first *** A short explanation of how we got to where we are Today's banking crisis is the THIRD trillion dollar plus ... more

You know Bobby’s work. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. blew the lid off the Theft of 2004 in his masterful Rolling Stone article. Many of you know me for my BBC television report that exposed Katherine Harris' "fake felon purge" of Black citizens in 2000.

Now RFK Jr. and I have teamed up to investigate THE THEFT OF 2008.

We can bring in your group for you gratis thanks the generosity of the Puffin Foundation, The Nation Institute, Threshold Foundation and the Palast Investigative Fund.

Jim Hightower and Air America’s Clout! have joined.

      How about YOU?

To sign on as a group or media co-sponsor, we don’t require your money. We do expect your ACTIONS.

      Just take these two steps:

If you can’t officially sponsor, you can still post a page or two from the voter guide comic book.

When we launch in two weeks, we'll send you a link for your site and a note to send to your lists. Your readers/members/listeners can then download the complete guide for a donation of as little as a dollar.

Get informed. Kennedy and I are about to publish our report and put it on the airwaves. Sign up and get the notice- via RSS, MySpace, facebook or e-mail and you’ll be the first to know when the news breaks.

BROADCASTERS: Pull down our Steal Back Your Vote! video and audio PSAs from the likes of Jim Hightower, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Willie Nelson and Mimi Kennedy and add it to your podcast or radio program.

Individuals: Want to add your name to the project and help us spread the word? Make a tax-deductible donation of at least $100 to sponsor the Steal Back Your Vote site and $500 to sponsor the guide itself. We'll add your name with gratitude.

Reverend Jackson has asked me to pass on these words: "We've marched too long, worked too hard, and died too young to let them steal our vote. For Dr. King, for Mandela, for Medgar Evers, for Goodman, Chaney and Schwerner - download it and fight back!"

      Respectfully,

The financial crisis gripping the U.S. has the largest banks and insurance companies begging for massive government bailouts. The banking, investment, finance and insurance industries, long the foes of taxation, now need money from working-class taxpayers to stay alive. Taxpayers should be in the driver's seat now. Instead, decisions that will cost people for decades are being made behind closed doors, by the wealthy, by the regulators and by those they have failed to regulate. • Columbia, Missouri: Nazis Plan To March Again Despite Permit Denial

Columbia police have denied a request from a neo-Nazi group to march Nov. 8, saying they do not have the personnel to man both the parade and the University of Missouri home football game against Kansas State University that day.

Steven Boswell of the Missouri chapter of the National Socialist Movement submitted an application for a parade and special event permit Friday to march from Watson Place near MU to the Boone County Courthouse, where his group is proposing to rally from noon to 5 p.m.

The same group held a rally in downtown Columbia on March 12, 2007. It attracted hundreds of onlookers, some of whom reacted with anger to the presence of the dozen or so neo-Nazis who turned out for the procession. More than 50 Columbia police officers were on hand to keep the two groups separated, and police expect a similar show of force will be needed the next time the group marches in Columbia.

    • Anthea Lipsett meets the teacher who carried out a terrifying experiment in fascis...

A new film tells how a teacher in the 1960s carried out a terrifying experiment in fascism with his class. Anthea Lipsett tracks him down - and some of his students

How could German citizens claim, after the war, to have known nothing about the Holocaust? Ron Jones's attempt to answer this question as a new teacher in 1960s California led to a risky experiment in fascism that has intrigued successive generations ever since. It is the subject of a major new German film, Die Welle (The Wave), released this week.

Teachers dream of making a difference to their students' lives. It's part of the joy of teaching. Former students of Jones describe his experiment, known as The Wave, as a milestone in their lives.

During project week at Cubberley high school in northern California in April 1967, Jones began teaching his 10th-grade class the power of discipline, drilling them to sit properly and breathe correctly. He made them address him as Mr Jones, stand by their desks when answering questions, and chant slogans.

To his surprise, particularly against a backdrop of the "swinging sixties" and growing civil-rights activism, his 15-year-old students embraced the strict regime and became more motivated to learn.

"I was accustomed to two very intelligent girls, and the troublemakers at the back of the room. What The Wave generated was a major role for the great majority, who stayed quiet and just got through school. I realised that, as a teacher, I had probably ignored them for the most part.

"All of a sudden, this great mass of energy took place and they were all brilliant in their own way," Jones, now 68, explains in a gentle Californian drawl.

During about a week of daily lessons, he created a movement. It had a salute (a raised, cupped hand), a slogan - "strength through discipline, community and action" - and a secret police force. Students made banners, had membership cards, coerced others to join the movement, beat up those who wouldn't conform and voluntarily informed on each other.

Jones even had student bodyguards accompanying him as he walked through the school.

One of the original class, Mark Hancock, 57, says students didn't know what to think. "Jones was the most popular teacher in school. He was only 10 years older than us, so we trusted and liked him a lot. We were 15, the age when you start to get an attitude and think independently. We were idealistic and passionate, but young and impressionable."

The class was used to Jones's unorthodox ways of bringing topics to life. He had taught them about apartheid by issuing cards with different rules for "black" and "white" students. He had invited guest speakers to talk about issues from all points of view - even calling Chairman Mao during one lesson.

"Kids would cut classes to go to his, he was that much fun," Hancock says. "He got you involved in the community, not just class."

      Really scary

Hancock explains how Jones got The Wave to feel so real. "He made an effort to make lessons sink in, and this time it did. Big time. The first part was just doing fun games together with our favourite teacher. We'd known Jones for six months and he was always smiling. Two or three days into it, he comes into the classroom not smiling, and he didn't again until it was all over. I'll never forget that day, because it really was scary."

Jones told the students the experiment was not a game but a movement, involving 1,000 other high schools around the US. A national leader would appear on television to announce a third political party in the country. That appealed to students, who felt betrayed by the handling of the Vietnam war and faced being drafted.

"At that point, it became scary and confusing," **CONTINUES

    • Fascism in America

by Kenn Jacobine...Folks, we have real problems in this country. You are probably thinking that I am going to talk about the endless wars we are fighting, the high incarceration rate of our citizenry or the economic collapse that is just around the corner. Instead of discussing these issues directly, I would like to address the underlying cause of these problems - America’s slow but sure movement to fascism.

In 1944, the great journalist, John T. Flynn published the book As We Go Marching. In the book, Flynn sought to nail down exactly what characteristics make up a fascist system. He dissected Mussolini’s state capitalism and Hitler’s national socialism and found commonalities between the two systems - commonalities which together he used to form his definition for fascism. There were many many, but in the interest of brevity only the seven most important will be mentioned here. Thus, according to Flynn, fascism as it was practiced in Italy and Germany was a system in which:

      1. the government had powers which were unrestrained; 2. a leader, who was the dictator, had absolute power; 3. the characteristics of capitalism were allowed to operate; 4. it was the government’s responsibility to ensure that the capitalist system functioned at top capacity; 5. government used public debt to stimulate the economy; 6. the economy operated through the principle of syndicalism; 7. militarism and imperialism were embedded in the system as a necessary means to employ the masses and further the goals of the state. He concluded that ironically, the United States had actually adopted these same practices to fight the scourge of fascism found in Italy and Germany. An analysis of the modus operandi of the U.S. government today would yield the same conclusion.

    • What Greenspan and the Federal Reserve orchestrated has a long ways to go yet

I am most definitely not a fan of Alan Greenspan or the Federal Reserve. The one liner that sums up my belief regarding our current economic crisis is that the collapse of the US dollar and the global economy was orchestrated to centralize power. Further detailed information regarding this manufactured crisis at: “10 of the Most Important Economic Events of the Last 10 Years: Collapsing the Economy in the Buildup to World War III”.

I am also in the slow process of preparing a piece for the economics section of the wrap-up of politics and economics, this work however will not be presented until October – there are other pressing matters that need to be addressed.

But I do believe that it is important that we prepare ourselves for what is coming, which is why the following short comment warning us of the magnitude of the current crisis should be taken to heart. So if you need to hear it from the devil himself, then here it is:

A burst of ferocity stunned the room into silence. No other word for it: The vice president's attorney was shouting.

"The president doesn't want this! [1] You are not going to see the opinions. You are out . . . of . . . your . . . lane!"

Five government lawyers had gathered around a small conference table in the Justice Department command center. Four were expected. David S. Addington, counsel to Vice President Cheney, got wind of the meeting and invited himself.

If Addington smelled revolt, he was not far wrong. Unwelcome questions about warrantless domestic surveillance had begun to find their voice.

Cheney and his counsel would struggle for months to quash the legal insurgency. By the time President Bush became aware of it, his No. 2 had stoked dissent into flat-out rebellion. The president would face a dilemma, and the presidency itself a historic test. Cheney would come close to leading them off a cliff, man and office both [2].
