While the U.S. defends interest in the Middle East, poor Haitians next door eat mu...
The American government claims that our interest abroad,Iraq in particular,is for freedom of the Iraqi people. If that is true, how can we watch the on going suffering of the people in Haiti only hundreds of miles from the Florida coast. Worst than that, our government allows immigrants from almost any country except Haiti to seek political asylum in the U.S. Mexicans,Latins from Central America,Cubans, most people from Europe and all over the rest of the planet can come to America, except Haitians. Why is that? What is so bad about Haitian people that the U.S. coast guard will turn their makeshift rafts around in the middle of the oceans deadly currents, knowing that people who are only seeking freedom and a better way of life for themselves and their families, while being turned around will now risk death by either sea or political execution upon their forced return to the small famished, diseased stricken island..
Haiti people are so poor that baking of mud cookies has becomie a staple in the Haitian diet. Bcause it is normal, some people in America think that it is done more in tradition that it is out of necessity. It's mormal because of poverty. Shame on America. Shame on us as a neighboring country to ignore the Haitian people as if they just a bunch of diseased animals just waitig to die. Is love thy neighbor as thyself just a biblical fairytale ?
Would we allow the United States government to ignore this ambarrassing modern day atrocity to take place if Haitians were White and not Black ? I don't think so. We, as a Nation, are just as guilty as all of Europe was, that watched Adolph Hitler annihilate German's Jews. These are crimes against humanity. Some, with Christians with twisted minds, justify turning their backs on the small island south of Florida, by truly thinking that Haiti is really Hades, as in the Biblical place called Hell.

Gays threaten the religious!
In what is being described as "another blow to religious liberty" in Canada, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario has ordered a Christian organization to cease using an employment contract which has staff promise they will not engage in "homosexual relationships." Moreover, the ruling demands that the organization pay $23,000, plus two years wages and benefits to a woman who signed onto the contract and then entered a homosexual relationship and was subsequently dismissed.
In an April 15 ruling, released today, the Tribunal ruled against Christian Horizons, an Evangelical Christian Ministry that provides care and residential services to 1,400 developmentally disabled individuals with over 180 residential homes across Ontario, and 2,500 employees.
The ruling which was decided by a single adjudicator - Michael Gottheil - ruled further that all managers and employees receive a pro-homosexuality "human rights training program"...
Connie Heintz, an employee who signed onto the "morality statement" as a condition of employment, promised not to engage in "homosexual relationships", among other anti-Christian activities such as "extra-marital sexual relationships (adultery)", "pre-marital sexual relationships (fornication)", "viewing or reading pornographic material" and "lying".
When Heintz entered into a homosexual relationship and her employers came to know of it, she claims she was subject to a poisoned work environment and threatened with loss of her job. She quit her job in 2000."
it's too bad she just didn't decide that she violated the agreement, which would have been more honest AND legal!!!! Another indication of the sense of unbridled entitlement gays bring with them, everywhere they go, even when religious values and more honest respect for those values would and should demand more, even if you don't agree with them.
Common freakn sense would tell most people: if you don't agree with the value system of an organization and you've gone so far to AGREE to do so IN WRITING, but no longer wish to...very simply leave quietly and find another job! Modern Day Prophet? Robert Anson Heinlein
Writing in the early 1960s, Heinlein accurately predicted the existence of enormous Evangelical/Fundamentalist megachurches as corporate entities controlling their own television networks and other businesses, similar to the Moral Majority, the Christian Coalition, and other historical entities.
I highly suggest everybody should read this book. Or download it from Audible.

UnChristian: A New Understanding Of Contemporary Christendom In America
by Nicole
"Modern day Christianity no longer seems Christian, writes the author of a revealing new book. UnChristian is a data-driven study written by David Kinnaman, the son of an Arizona pastor, who serves as the president of The Barna Group, a Christian Gallup-like research organization based in Ventura, CA. Analyzing information culled from extensive surveys and numerous interviews, Kinnaman, with the help of co-author Gabe Lyons, reports on the state of contemporary Christian culture and how it's perceived. What began as a three month project has turned into a three-year study to grasp the picture God was revealing through the data, writes Kinnaman in the books preface. It was not a pretty picture.
38% of outsiders surveyed had a bad impression of Christianity, 45% had a neutral one, and just 16% had a good impression. Furthermore 91% of outsiders felt that Christianity was anti-homosexual, 87% said it was judgmental and 85% thought it was hypocritical. 84% of outsiders claimed to know a Christian, yet only 15% could see a lifestyle difference that indicated that their friends practiced what they preached. In light of these findings, The Daily Mantra caught up with Kinnaman to find out if, and how, Christianity can get back on track.
DM: In the first chapter of your book you start by saying Christianity has an image problem. Is it really the image thats the problem or the underlying substance?
DK: Im glad that I wrote that sentence, because its provocative. Its tough for Christians to understand what a substance problem really is. All the people that work at the Barna Group come back around to that question of the substance/image problem. If you look at the stuff that weve done, we make more enemies with Christians than we do with outsiders because much of the information that we put out is not very flattering to the Christian church.
America is a quote-un-quote Christian nation, in the sense that 83% of Americans say theyre Christian and seven out of ten say theyve made a commitment to Christ thats still important in their life. I am as concerned about superficial Christianity as I am about anything else in our culture. What does it really mean to be a Christ follower in a country where almost everyone says that they are? How do we really be the kind of people that Jesus asked us to be? So few people really live like that. If the first sentence of the book is that Christianity has an image problem, the last sentence of the book ought to be Christianity has a substance problem.
DM: You also say they react negatively to our swagger, but I think that more than the swagger it would be the stance.
DK: Yes, I can understand that. I think weve been so busy defending a fort that we forgot why we built the fort in the first place. The Church is supposed to be a beacon of hope for people, and that is really why were known as unchristian because after sixteen hundred years of Christendom, after creating higher education and many of the hospitals, and creating many of the non-profits that have benefited society, weve been more concerned about reacting against things that we are fearful of, rather than trying to recreate and reclaim those ways of making life better for people. We have become more known for talking about sin than doing anything for those people affected by sin.
DM: One of the largest groups of people affected by the Christian definition of sin, as reflected by your own research, is the homosexual community. According to your book, 91% of outsiders view the Church as anti-homosexual.
DK: It is the most difficult topic of all. It's the place where I think a lot of Christians are having a hard time understanding what to do. Even though the book has been well received with a lot of Christians, it's the area that's creating the most tension.

Iranian Official Confirms Gay Executions
There appears to be some logic behind Ahmadinejad's ridiculously outlandish statement last month while guest lecturing at Columbia University that "there are no homosexuals in Iran."
They are simply executed.
The state of Iran operates under Sharia law, which is law based upon the Muslim tenets of the Koran, which condemns sex between people of the same sex. It is not legal to be homosexual and you are executed.
Incidentally, since the Koran says nothing about having gender reassignment surgery, it is completely legal under Sharia law in Iran to have a sex change. Tehran has become a capital in the Muslim world for transsexuals to have sex change operations due to this particular loophole in religious thought. There is a compelling documentary called "The Birthday" that explores this issue.
The contradictions inherent in this particular issue bring to light extremely compelling issues of sexuality, religion, law, and how they interpret and define human rights.
