US Constitution

  • Public Topic: Everyone is invited to contribute to US Constitution

    • * RIP USA REPUBLIC *

First they stole their election with the help of the supreme court… nothing happened…Then 9-11 & the war based on lies… nothing happened… then they shredded the constitution, spied on everyone & fired the best US attorneys… nothing happened…then they conducted a thinly veiled Katrina ethic cleansing …nothing happened…now they are taking us all to the cleaners…can you identify a pattern here ?

      The Military is Nowhere…
      The Press is Nowhere…
      The Congress is Nowhere...
      The Senates is Nowhere...

Is there a limit to the damage this executive branch can inflict to the USA ?

      It seems not !

We've Been Taken Over By a Cult

      * RIP USA REPUBLIC *

      PROOF OF CONCEPT...

CONFIRMED : ALBERTO GONZALES & CREW ARE VERMIN !

The most interesting thing about it, or what I thought was the extraordinary, is the report says that they couldn’t get to the bottom of a lot of what happened with the firing of the US attorneys, because there is a wholesale lack of cooperation by senior White House officials. Karl Rove refused to cooperate with the investigation, give them an interview. Harriet Miers, who was the White House counsel at the time and an architect of this, refused to be interviewed. Two of—two deputy White House counsel declined to be interviewed.

The White House refused to give over documents. They refused to give over emails. To show you the absurdity, some of the emails and documents that they’ve refused to give to their own Justice Department, I published them in a story. Somebody in the administration leaked them to me. And so, they’re a matter of public record.

And so, essentially, you have one part of the government, the White House, refusing to cooperate and assist the Justice Department in a very important oversight function. And, you know, I would add that the lack of cooperation, the refusal to talk to investigators, the refusal to turn over documents, is virtually unprecedented.

The report did find that the firings—no surprises for those who have followed this or most of your listeners, but the firings were politically motivated. The US attorneys were fired to make room for people who were more ideologically or politically attuned to the White House.
A lot of it had apparently to do with the voter fraud agenda, where some Republicans, like Karl Rove, thought that they were losing because of reported voter fraud by constituency groups associated with Democrats. These US attorneys actually investigated these claims by the White House, but just couldn’t bring cases, and they couldn’t find any evidence of this. And so, again and again, Karl Rove, people at the White House pressed for the removal of specific US attorneys.

And the US attorneys who they did remove—one of the things getting lost in the coverage today is that these were the best and the brightest of our public servants. These were considered the cream of the crop and some of the finest US attorneys we’ve had in a generation. http://www.democracynow.org/2008/10/1/justice_dept_appo...

    • Wedding Video - First CA Lesbian Wedding

On June 16, 2008, lesbian rights pioneers Del Martin and Phyllis Lyon were married in the first same-sex marriage ceremony since the California Supreme Court ruled in May that it was unconstitutional for the state to deny the right to marry to gay or lesbian couples. The Court-issued equality ruling went into effect at 5pm on June 16th. And moments later, Del and Phyllis were married.

Sadly, Del Martin, 87, passed away in August, just six weeks after her wedding. She and Phyllis had shared 55 years together and are widely acknowledged as two of the founders of the lesbian and gay civil rights movement.

Today GroundSpark is honored to release this exclusive footage of Phyllis and Del’s historic wedding ceremony, which was officiated by Mayor Gavin Newsom in his office at San Francisco City Hall.

We do so in tribute to Del Martin, a true civil rights pioneer for her entire life, and in support of the efforts across the United States to guarantee the right to marry for all U.S. citizens, regardless of sexual orientation.

GroundSpark’s executive director, Debra Chasnoff, visited Del and Phyllis this summer and asked them if they wanted to share this wedding video with the world. They talked about the upcoming ballot initiative to amend the California constitution to eliminate this new right to marry for same-sex couples and about similar ballot measures in Arizona and Florida. “If it will help,” Del said in a whisper, “then let’s do it.”

      Enjoy.

On the Constitution birth day we went over the origins and details of the Constitution. Much to my disgust many of my fellow classmates protested learning about it.
Many of the students at my school did not even know how many states were in the U.S. or what the Constitution means.
It was very sad to see but I enjoyed the educational process.

The Obama campaign is probably breathing a sigh of relief now that the motion for temporary restraining order sought by Philip J. Berg, Esquire, has been denied. Berg, who says he is a Democrat (and presumably a Clinton supporter), filed a lawsuit last Thursday in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Obama, the DNC and the FEC, claiming that Obama can’t be president because he isn’t a “natural born Citizen,” as required by Article II, Section I of the Constitution. Berg also immediately sought a TRO to “put a stop to Defendant Obama’s fraudulent campaign scheme.” The Obama campaign is probably breathing a sigh of relief now that the motion for temporary restraining order sought by Philip J. • Hillary votes against FISA while Obama votes for it

I am so damn proud of Hillary. I can't tell you how happy I am.

Dear Obama supporters, if you are reading this, it is not to late. Hillary can still be our President!

      News from the blogosphere

"This is too good. Having once promised to filibuster any FISA bill with telecom lawsuit protection that reached the Senate Floor, Barack Obama today voted in favor of the compromise FISA bill pushed by President Bush. The left-wing base of the party is beside itself, as expected, but there is another interesting wrinkle to this story.

Hillary voted no. Captain Ed raises the delicious question: is she setting herself up for a netroots push at the convention? Please let it be so! (from Jim-Rose)"

"Okay. The Obama folks won’t like the reaction that Obama’s hypocritical vote on telecom immunity will spawn. My prediction is that this will spawn a movement to put Hillary back on the ticket. Don’t think so? If you don’t think so you are underestimating the damage that Obama has done to his shiny new brand for “change.” This is not change it is just doing the same thing as the rest of the gutless and complicit Democratic leadership. Read the following article if you underestimate the damage that this vote has done to the country and perhaps Obama’s campaign. And my Obama friends, if you think “hypocritical” is too strong a word, read the actual record of the statements that our hero has made.

    • 'Free speech zones' to make comeback Denver Democratic Convention

And you thought it was just Republicans that wanted to stifle free speech.

"The infamous "free speech zone," set to make a comeback at Denver's upcoming Democratic National Convention, needs to be within earshot of delegates, a coalition of civil liberties advocates backed by the ACLU said Monday.

Chain link fencing or chicken wire at the end of the parade route, about 700 feet away from the Pepsi Center under the current plan, would separate demonstrators and protesters from other convention attendees, the Rocky Mountain News reported. The coalition have amended their pending lawsuit against the United States Secret Service and the City and County of Denver, filed in May, saying that the plan could violate the visitors' First Amendment rights, echoing the corralling and effective silencing of protesters at the 2004 gala in Boston. A judge in that case had ruled the "free speech zones" unconstitutional, but said that the suit was filed too late to order that plans be changed.

"No human voice, or any other sound," ACLU counsel said in Monday's amended complaint, "can ever hope to reach a person at the entrance."

The case will go to trial on July 29.

Preparations for the upcoming convention, for which Denver has been federally granted $50 million, may include military choppers, as seen during a mid-June Department of Justice drill, details of which could not be revealed by the Denver Police Department. Lt. Nathan Potter, a military spokesperson with Special Operations Command, called the exercise "routine preparation for the global war on terrorism."

Denver Sheriff division chief Marie Kielar also told Colorado Confidential in May that her department is preparing for convention-related arrests to top 1,200. The City and County of Denver will not make publicly available detention plans, such as where those arrested will be held, before the convention. In addition to the May suit, the ACLU has demanded that the City and County make publicly available the procedures it plans to follow in processing those arrested at its downtown jail.

The Monday complaint called not only for a protest zone closer to the Pepsi Center, but also that it large enough to host all demonstrators, and for searches to be conducted only when there is probable cause.

"Simply put, we are going to abide by the Constitution," Denver city attorney David Fine said Monday.

They continue to spam youtube and current.com with fraudulent stories and and claim he didn't get fair treatment by the media, however when considering how unsuccessful his campaign was, he got excellent coverage by the media.

    • NRA targets San Francisco gun ban

Targeting San Francisco, the National Rifle Association is attempting to overturn the city's gun ban. The move was prompted by a recent Supreme Court decision not to grant Washington DC a handgun ban.

"The National Rifle Association sued the city of San Francisco on Friday to overturn its ban on handguns in public housing, a day after the U.S. Supreme Court struck down a handgun ban in the nation's capital.

The legal action follows a similar lawsuit against the city of Chicago over its handgun ban, filed within hours of Thursday's high court ruling.

In San Francisco, the NRA was joined by the Washington state-based Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms and a gun owner who lives in the city's Valencia Gardens housing project.

The gun owner, who is gay, says he keeps the weapon to defend himself from "sexual orientation hate crimes." He was not identified in the complaint because he said he fears retaliation.

Mayor Gavin Newsom said the city will "vigorously fight the NRA" and defended the ban as good for public safety.

"Is there anyone out there who really believes that we need more guns in public housing?" Newsom said. "I can't for the life of me sit back and roll over on this. We will absolutely defend the rights of the housing authority."

San Francisco City Attorney Dennis Herrera said that the Supreme Court ruling didn't address gun bans on government property and that he is "confident that our local gun control measures are on sound legal footing and will survive legal challenges"."

    • McCain against Roe v. Wade & Comprehensive Sex-ed

John McCain has a 0% rating from the Planned Parenthood Action Fund because he has consistently voted against women's reproductive rights.

Once again it becomes clear that John McCain's policies are identical to Bush's.

He is opposed to Roe v. Wade and has said that he would like to see it overturned.

He's against Comprehensive Sexual Education and only supports "abstinence-only" education which has been proven to be ineffective and is often tied to bringing religion, and misinformation about sex into the classroom.

He's against making birth control affordable by means of requiring insurance companies to cover it.

Do Americans know enough about John McCain's extreme positions on this critical issues?

Is McCain any different from Bush on reproductive health or a disrespect for the Constitution and the right to privacy?

Take the Bush-McCain challenge and quiz by watching this video and decide for yourself if McCain is really the "maverick" he's cracked up to be.

    • Time for a grand inquest into Bush's high crimes

One of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's first acts upon taking the gavel was to rule impeachment off the table. She wanted Democrats to focus on challenging the president on the war and on kitchen table concerns -- from energy to education to health care. With Democrats now enjoying an increasing margin in generic polls and looking towards gaining seats in both the House and the Senate, the strategy certainly hasn't hurt politically.

But the constitutional implications are far more disturbing. This was dramatized as the Congress debated the FISA reform legislation that will provide retroactive immunity to the telecommunications companies for warrantless interception of the conversations of Americans -- and by implication, retroactive acceptance of the president's authority to order such wiretaps.

We have witnessed a staggering abuse of power by this president. Even former Bush Justice Department officials now charge President Bush with trampling the Constitution. Bush has claimed the prerogative to declare an endless war without congressional approval, to designate someone an enemy without cause, to proceed to wiretap them without warrant, arrest or kidnap them at will, jail them without a hearing, hold them indefinitely, interrogate them intensively (read torture), bring them to trial outside the US court system. He claims that executive privilege exempts his aides -- even the aides of his aides and his vice president's aides -- from congressional investigation. He claims the right to amend or negate congressional laws with a statement upon signing them. And much more.

Even this Supreme Court, stacked with activist right-wing judges enamored of executive national security powers, has rebuked the president on some of these claims, particularly around the treatment of allegedly enemy combatants. But many of Bush's claims will escape judicial determination.

    • Could Texas schools teach Creationism soon?

Texas Public Schools may be teaching creationism / intelligent design soon as the State Board of Education gears up to attack evolution in its revision of the state science standards.

This is an interview of the Chairman of the Board, Don McLeroy, who is a self-pronounced creationist. He says in the video that he believes in evolution but it is obvious that he is lying as he begins to state that he wishes to force Texas educators to teach the alleged "weaknesses" of evolution. The scientific community as a whole denies the existence of any "weaknesses" of evolution, and as a result McLeroy wishes to use these fake "weaknesses" as a trojan horse to attack the theory of evolution so that creationism may be taught in its place.

If you live in Texas or know somebody who does, have them sign the Texas Freedom Network's petition telling the State Board that you stand up for science and support the theory of evolution and oppose the teaching of religious concepts like creationism or ID in the science classroom at:

      https://secure2.convio.net/txfree/site/SSurvey?SURVEY_I...

      http://www.tfn.org/site/PageServer?pagename=mcleroylect...

In the lecture he explains that creationists must continually remind the scientific community that they may be wrong and to project the alleged "weaknesses" or evolution. (which do not exist and are fake and have been proven so time and time again.)

Chuck Norris is a dangerous member of the Religious Right and he doesn't deserve our admiration any longer.

He doesn't believe in the Separation of Church and State and supported Mike Huckabee for president and Rick Perry for governor of Texas. Perry is a far-right conservative who is against any and all gay rights, people of other religions, and the Constitution in general.
