Ozzy gets Son to make his Documentary..G'luck
Ozzy Osbourne's shrub-haired son is trying to save his dad's reputation with a documentary. Because we know how well the last time cameras mixed with Jack Osbourne turned out...
The Double O won't write an autobiography so Jack's finding an alternative.
Jack Osbourne has reportedly been working on a 'visual autobiography' on the life's work of his father and all-round heavy metal icon, Ozzy Osbourne.
Jack has said that Ozzy has always refused to do an autobiography and so this documentary would serve as something of a replacement. He has also made sure that as many people who have been involved with Ozzy's life and career have been interviewed for inclusion on the documentary involving all members of Black Sabbath and various members of Ozzy's solo band over the years, as well as close friends and family.
Speaking to RollingStone.com, Jack said: "The hard thing is getting people to be honest and not have it be a fluff piece, because that's not what we're trying to do. I'm trying to paint a realistic picture of who my father is. I think 'The Osbournes', to a degree, tarnished the public's perception of my dad as a bit of a senile, funny, bumbling guy. Yeah, my dad can be that guy, but it's not him. I think that almost discredited who he is as an artist. My dad's not an idiot - he's nothing short of a genius, in my opinion. He does have huge flaws, and we're trying to really paint an honest picture of that."
No release date has been announced for the documentary but stay tuned to Metal Hammer for more details as they are released. Ozzy Osbourne's shrub-haired son is trying to save his dad's reputation with a documentary. Because we know how well the las... more -
Ozzy Osbourne Inks New Three Album Deal With Sony
The following report is courtesy of Ray Waddell from Billboard.biz:
Ozzfest 2008, with METALLICA and OZZY OSBOURNE as headliners, grossed nearly $3.5 million and drew close to 30,000 people to Dallas' Pizza Hut Park, according to producers Sharon Osbourne and AEG Live. Sponsored by Affliction Clothing, this year's Ozzfest marked the return of the 13-year-old music brand after a free run at amphitheaters last year.
This year's one-off event did "fantastically well," Sharon Osbourne tells Billboard.biz. "The one thing is you want for the kids to go away and keep talking about what a great show it was, and that's what they're doing."
Osbourne says plans are for Ozzfest to return to Dallas again next summer, likely as a two-day festival, and other cities are also being considered.
"Ozzfest ain't going anywhere," she says. "We do try and shake things up and experiment, we're not the old donkey that plods on doing the same shit."
Meanwhile, 2008 has been a great year for Ozzy, Osbourne adds. "Ozzy had an unbelievable last record (Black Rain), an unbelievable year touring, and he's in the studio right now recording," she says. "We just signed a new deal with Sony for three more albums and we ain't going nowhere." The following report is courtesy of Ray Waddell from Billboard.biz: ... more -
