    • Scented Clothes, For People Who Stink

Researchers in Portugal have developed a way to insert microcapsules into fabrics. While scent microcapsules are usually made from formaldehyde, which isn’t exactly safe to have next to your skin, these scientists have developed a new, more environmentally friendly plastic out of limonene (found in the rinds of lemons), and the lemon-y scent even lasted through dry cleaning.

    • Clothesline Project -- airing dirty laundry, ending secrets

For the past 12 years, every spring a group of students come together to assemble the Clothesline Project at UCLA. The shirts are made by the survivors of sexual violence, rape and childhood sexual abuse. Friends and relatives of those who died also can make a shirt. The resulting clothesline is a powerful testament to the enormity of loss and pain. It's a healing process too.

This is such a great idea. Although, I dunno how happy I would be doing this a couple times a week to wash all my soccer jerseys, but it def something to be looked in to. • Are dirty knickers a thing of the past?

Possibly, thanks to scientists from Indiana, Wisconsin and Australia who have developed nanotechnology-based coatings that can clean themselves, with no help from man or machine.

Not only will they be a godsend for every smelly student out there but more importantly, the environment; the new materials could reduce the need to use environmentally destructive cleaners whilst still maintaining the antibacterial functions of traditional cleaning methods.

The nanotechnology-based coatings will have a variety of uses, from textiles and clothing to car windshields, although still in their developmental stage, one of the researchers predicted that these products could have a dramatic effect on our impact on the environment.

In the midst of the global environmental crisis, the US is the single largest contributor to global warming. We need to start doing the little things to save the planet...like hanging our laundry. this is one of the cultural differences I've noticed as an American living abroad in Spain and it inspired to make this short. • For ‘EcoMoms,’ Saving Earth Begins at Home

Move over, Tupperware. The EcoMom party has arrived, with its ever-expanding “to do” list that includes preparing waste-free school lunches; lobbying for green building codes; transforming oneself into a “locovore,” eating locally grown food; and remembering not to idle the car when picking up children from school (if one must drive). Here, the small talk is about the volatile compounds emitted by dry-erase markers at school. Move over, Tupperware. • Hollwood Madam's doing your 'Dirty Laundry'

While Heidi Fleiss is awaiting a license to open a brothel, Studfarm, catering to women in the Las Vegas area she'll gladly offer you fluffing service--at her coin-operated laundromat.

What I find ironic is that Ms. Fleiss could be denied her brothel license in Nevada on the grounds that she is a convicted felon. Forgive me, but doesn't the specific type of 'expertise' Fleiss is notorious for just add something to her resume for brothel owner?
