Final World Series Ball is Missing
In a case of celebration, confusion and assumption, the final ball of this year's World Series is missing. The winning Red Sox have no idea where the ball ended up. Catcher Jason Varitek swears that pitcher Jonathan Papelbon tucked the ball away, but neither have the missing link. This may just be a case of committing nostalgia to memory.

Furniture Company Has To Live Up to It's Promotional Offer since the Sox won!
This is such a great story! While thousands of customers are going to be happy, Jordan's Furniture is going to lose millions! (They did have an insurance policy, but it's still funny). Red Sox Sweep the Series!
I've suffered through years of frustration as a Boston fan. Since I was a kid, you name the team, and I've just about lived and died by how they've done. Now, the Sox have swept their second World Series in four seasons and the Patriots are this century's NFL dynasty. Yeah, sure, it's been a short century...let me have my fun. Now, if the Bruins could only find their next Bobby Orr, or the Celts could find their next Larry Bird, I think I could finally let it all go. Does Jesus Wear Purple Pinstripes?
There's only one baseball team with a full-time chaplain on the payroll. Only one whose team executives are known to hold prayer conferences over the phone. This season they even had a "Faith Day" for fans, featuring Christian bands and players professing their love of the Lord.
They're your Colorado Rockies: National League pennant winners, and World champs when it comes to mixing baseball and God. There's only one baseball team with a full-time chaplain on the payroll. Only one whose team executives are known to hold prayer ... more -

A Night at the World Series: The scene at Fenway Park as the Red Sox beat the Rock...
BOSTON—Here are a few ways in which a World Series game is different than a regular-season game. In the regular season, you typically place your ticket in your wallet after entering the ballpark. At a World Series game, it is socially acceptable to place the stub in a polyurethane sleeve and wear it around your neck on a lanyard emblazoned with the Taco Bell logo. This is slightly irritating. Rockies Francis Beats Beckett's BoSox 7-1
Thats right 7-1. So for all of you out there that say it can't be done it may be time to reconsider. In case you missed the June 14th game between the Rox n Sox here is what happened. Beckett was 9-0 when Colorado beat the Red Sox in convincing fashion to give the young ace his first L of the year. So it can be done, even at Fenway, even against their best pitcher, even after a month off. Will it happen tonight? Why not? In the regular season interleague play the Rockies took 2 out of 3 games against the Red Sox. Beckett and Schilling both lost in the series with the lone win going to a Cook/Papelbon performance. In that series which was in Boston the Rockies outscored the Red Sox 21-4.
All this doesn't seem to matter much to most of you out there though. I have a hard time believing that it can be done as well. That said, I'm pulling for the mile-high boys tonight and you should to. That's right, i'm saying tonight you should root for the underdog or just root against Boston. Boston, the second highest paid team in the country with a $143,000,000 payroll ($54,000,000 for Colorado), the team that Ben Affleck sponsors, the team Martha Stewart/trash/gahbage/pahked/cahs/gettingahammahhhhhd.... you get the point Thats right 7-1. So for all of you out there that say it can't be done it may be time to reconsider. In case you missed the June ... more -

Rocky Ticket System Fails Fans
The ticketing system set up to sell tickets to the World Series in Colorado was shut down by team officials when the site experienced what I'm thinking was Red Sox Nation. Could it be that Colorado fans were trying to buy tickets? Of course they were BUT what they probably didn't anticipate was every man, woman and child that claims to love the Red Sox logging on to try and buy tickets. Hell, its probably cheaper and easier to buy a ticket in Colorado, fly there from Boston and take up yachting then it is to get a hold of a ticket to Fenway. One way or the other, Boston fans will have a big presence at Coors Field this year. How much? Great question....
What percentage of fans at Coors Field will be cheering for the Red Sox?
a) 0-10%. It's cold, it's far, Rockies fans will get them first.
b) 11-25%. There's some Sox fans that already bought season tickets to every NL team just for this situation.
c) 26-50%. These fans want to see a game and lost the lottery/bah fight.
d) 50% or more. Nobody cares about baseball in Colorado. The ticketing system set up to sell tickets to the World Series in Colorado was shut down by team officials when the site experienced ... more -
Sox versus Rox
It's finally here. The World Series will begin on Wednesday at Fenway park where the Boston Red Sox will take on the Colorado Rockies for the whole shibang. The red hot Rockies might have been the favorite if it hadn't been for their prolonged rest which many think will cool them off, wake them up or somehow lose the momentum that has carried them through the past 20+ games. The Red Sox on the other hand have found a way to win and definitely have more than enough experience to get the job done. The curse is gone and Boston fans are hoping they won't have to wait another 8 or so decades to see another championship.
If I was to bet on this game I would bet on the Rockies to cover whatever spread the bookies are giving them. They just haven't lost and even though they have had a few days off and they are playing on the road I just can't doubt them anymore, at lesat not until they loose a game. Athough my head is telling me to think of the Red Sox as a lock I'm kinda getting into a big Rockies upset. What's your thinking? It's finally here.
