Seattle-Tehran Poster Show Remix thru 10/15
Curators Daniel R. Smith and Iman Raad have produced the Seattle-Tehran Poster Show, an exhibition of poster illustration and graphic art, on view at the Design Commission in Seattle, September 4 - October 15, 2008. The exhibition premiered at Bumbershoot, Seattle's art and music festival over Labor Day Weekend, and will have a continued run at the Seattle interactive design and development studio in Pioneer Square. The poster designs promote cultural events in each city, emphasizing contemporary art, music, theater.

Persian Visions: Contemporary Photography from Iran
Coming soon to Mulvane Art Museum in Topeka, Kansas, is Persian Visions: Contemporary Photography from Iran, a touring exhibition coordinated by International Art & Artists. The exhibition is the first survey of contemporary photography from Iran to tour the United States organized between the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art and the University of Minnesota Department of Art. Fashion of mass destruction
"Over the years, we have seen fashion powerhouses put their own signatures and styles on all kinds of products, but Peter Gronquist's display of embellished weapons at LA's Gallery 1988 is definitely a first."
The exhibition lasts till May 16th and highlights include Versace rifles, Pac-Man grenades and a Louis Vuitton electric chair.

"David Shrigley is an elderly gentleman with white hair and one eye. He is acutely shy due to a speech impediment and spends almost all his time without human company. He lives in Scotland and spends most of his time drawing pictures and tending to his pet budgerigar. He says that the source material for his artwork comes to him in his dreams".
