Dolly Parton vs. Howard Stern
Country legend Dolly Parton isn't flattered by a recent Howard Stern parody, in which the satellite radio host mashed up Parton quotes to make it sound as if the singer were spewing offensive and racist remarks. In a post on her official website, Parton is quoted as saying she has "never been so shocked, hurt and humiliated" in her life, and even hints and at potentially suing the shock jock.
Parton was the victim of one of Stern's "audiobook" bits, in which celebrity quotes are pieced together to form chopped-up, raunchy sentences. In the past, Stern has remixed quotes from the likes of William Shatner and Oprah.
In the bit with Parton, which originally aired last week, Stern and his cohorts cut up Parton quotes in an attempt to make it sound as if the artist were saying a host of sexually explicit and racist remarks. Said Parton on her site: "In a blue million years, I would never have such vulgar things come out of my mouth. They have done editing or some sort of trickery to make this horrible, horrible thing. Please accept my apology for them and certainly know I had nothing to do with this. If there was ever going to be a lawsuit, it's going to be over this. Just wanted you to know that I am completely devastated by this."
While the explicit content of the Stern bit prevents me from linking to it, has Parton's response to the bit simply brought more publicity to Stern, or did the overtly racist content of the sketch warrant a response from the artist? Dolly Parton postpones tour, blames breasts
Dolly Parton's breasts may be two of the wonders of the entertainment world, but the country music icon says they are a pain in her back.
Parton, 62, said on Monday she would postpone her upcoming North American tour after doctors told her to take it easy for six to eight weeks to rest her sore back.
"Hey, you try wagging these puppies around a while and see if you don't have back problems," the folksy singer-songwriter said in a statement.
The tour was due to begin on February 28 in Minneapolis, two days after the release of "Backwoods Barbie," her first album of mainstream country music in 17 years. She hopes to hit the road in late April. Dolly Parton's breasts may be two of the wonders of the entertainment world, but the country music icon says they are a pain in her ba... more -

Country music legend Dolly Parton jokingly says of here boobs," 'They have served me well, I don’t know if I’m supporting them or they’re supporting me.' She then added: 'I’ve always had nice ones. But of course I’ve had them jacked up a bit.' "

Dolly Parton's Joyful Anthem: Better Get to Livin'
Dolly Parton's upcoming album might be called Backwoods Dolly, but one very uplifting single, Better Get to Livin', shows the timeless singer as more wise philosopher than painted, plastic country kewpie doll. Her signature wit, wisdom and personality, make it like getting a much-needed emotional boost from your favorite partner.

Country Music Legend Dead
Once many years ago I had some conversations with Dolly Parton about doing a tv show. In some chit chat over lunch, I asked her who she wrote "I Will Always Love You" about, and she said, in a very classy way, that it was a "manager" that she had, early in her career, and that the song's meaning was very straightforward--parting was bittersweet but that she would always love him. She indicated that she was very young at the time and the "manager" was much more experienced. I later found out that the man she was talking about was the legendary Porter Waggoner. Even the name Porter Waggoner sounds legendary! One of the greats is gone, rest in peace. And how ironic that Dolly's song will make everyone think about him, forever.
