I love LA
I don't usually just link-post to point people elsewhere...but I highly recommend reading this blog post from architectural blog BLDGBLOG about why Los Angeles, for all its flaws and faultlines, is still an amazing city. that's a WHOLE lot of pug...
Atop a the hills of Pacific Heights, on the grassy knowles of Alta Plaza Park, there is Pug Sunday. Every first Sunday of the month, from around 1-4pm, the park is swarming with TONS of pugs just running about, getting in each other's business, and doing what dogs do best (i.e. please see above demonstration, specifically dark pug sporting cowboy hat).

Red Bull Art of Can - Philadelphia
Check out this competition organized by Red Bull: Anyone can enter, all that you have to do is use a Red Bull can as your primary media (and shout out to Philly for being chosen for the event this year...we have an awesome art scene that's just starting to get recognized, which you'll be able to tell by the quality of the pieces).
Make sure to check out the chess board, bee hive, tube dress and rat race sculptures, all made from cans...my personal favorites.
And here's some info on the venue (FUEL Gallery, the old Real World house): http://www.fuelcollection.com/ Check out this competition organized by Red Bull: Anyone can enter, all that you have to do is use a Red Bull can as your primary medi... more -
Awww...don't get your feelings hurt Philadelphia
So apparently Philadelphia is home to the least attractive people of America's 25 favorite cities... I beg to differ but shout out to my hometown of SF for getting rated #1 in the best "People (overall)" category. I'm so glad the readers of Travel and Leisure magazine approve...
Here's the link to the rest of the results of the survey, just in case you're interested.
