My husband, an American Native, reminded me of this on our morning walk. First it was the African slaves, which created big wealth, then it was the immigrants, like my grand parents working in factories, living in poverty with the dream that their children would have it better, now out sourcing to poor countries and Mexican labor.
This country is used to running on this kind of cheep labor, it is almost expected at this point. This mega-wealthy thing is considered normal, something to aspire to. Carol Mosley Brown said it well when she refered to "A culture of greed needs to be addressed," I would like to go there.
I understand that it is taboo to have any morality. Talking from the heart is considered impractical and unrealistic, thus we have our "Culture of greed. I have the whole constitution and bill of rights on my myspace page..both documents can be fit on two 8 x 11 papers; (the Patriot Act was a couple of volumes and the tax code is even fatter) I'm going to print them out and pass them out to everyone I see. The idea is IF IT'S NOT IN THERE THEY CAN'T DO IT, which leaves a lot of discrepancy just judging from the size of those two documents...
